Full list of reasons why Carver is a great person

    Was :PPP

  • Well you're not wrong...

Welp, much like I did with that St. Johns thread quite a while back, it looks like it's up to me to once again bullshit my way through a defense master post...

Um... he managed to keep a community going through his ingenuity... scoff... and simply expected everyone to pull their weight... smirk... and that scene with Sarah is really just indicative of what everyone was pretty much thinking in regards to Carlos coddling Sarah so no one can really complain... snerk... and, um...

...ah, screw it. The St. Johns were actually interesting even with the whole "cannibalistic Southern family" cliche they had going, and deserved a defense with a bit of effort, farcical though it was. Carver does not. You know what? I'm gonna say it. Nate was a better and more interesting character than Carver ever was. And now I need a shower.

  • I don't get it where's the list?

  • Thats the point.

    No list= No Reasons

  • He ran the most sucessful community so far seen in the whole game, unfortunately a group of evil runaways chose to have walkers kill everyone in the community that everyone worked so hard for

  • It was a joke m8 like my St. John defense thread a little while ago

... It is my connection cannot view the image or something?

  • It's a joke, there's nothing there because there are no reasons why Carver is a good person.

  • Oh....ok!

It's a joke, there's nothing there because there are no reasons why Carver is a good person.

  • Kenny made him crazy with his bad manners. Kenny kills one of his people and Carver gives him a job and a place to stay. And how does Kenny, Luke and Clementine to be fair repay his kindness by stealing his property and and trying to destroy his home. He should get a humanitarian award.

  • He wasn't the worst.

    Lets compare these three people.

Jane - a manipulative sociopath, who can't tell the truth to save her own life.

Carver - Abusive 80s dad. You know the dad, who always had the cops at his house for those "domestics." We all knew where 80s dad lived on the street and we knew when to keep our MF mouth closed, and not backtalk. At least you know, you always have food/shelter with Abusive 80s dad "aka" Carver.

    You won't be living homeless.

    Kenny - PTSD Crazy.

    Now discuss.

Personally if i was Clementine i'd rather be around Carver, than the others. All you need to do is keep your mouth shut, and not F up, and you won't get abused.

  • Considering we only have one example of Jane lying and manipulating, I think making those generalisations about her character is unfair.

  • Jane as a character doesn't make any sense. Her motives clash in between wanting to protect Clementine and "survive" as she says. She tells Clementine she thinks she should abandon Kenny because she feels he's traveling down the same road as Carver but yet openly embraces the same lifestyle

  • Carver wouldn't have been so bad if wasn't such an ego maniac. Aside from Wellington and Crawford, he had the largest community/group in the game. He thought about the future and about building a life for himself and others. Where as Jane only thought about immediate survival, and Kenny doesn't really "think" very much at all. Carver's problem is that he expected everyone to unconditionally kiss his ass and worship him for his accomplishments. Failure to do so resulted in radio bludgeoning and getting thrown off buildings.

  • I actually liked carver and i wanted to join him :/

Her motives clash because she's a complicated character.

She simultaneously has a desire to protect Clementine, but also has a desire not to let herself get attached again because it was so painful to lose someone. It's called cognitive dissonance.

Jane doesn't embrace the lifestyle of Carver in any way - Carver was a community's dictator, and Jane was trying not to get involved in any group.

Yes, Jane's complexities shine through at the end too you can see she wants clementine to let them in, she doesnt want to be the one to have to do it but she wants to, yet she still feels the urge to try and convince her otherwise.

Kenny's ending too, you can see he wants her to be happy there even without him.

Even carver to a point, we never really see much emphasis of "Bill" or what caused him to be so harsh later on

Still I think its safer with any of them more than just being by yourself aged 11

  • Very insightful indeed

  • .....................took me long enough to understand the joke. Damn I am slow.

  • Heh, Better than carver.

You mean what could be that shack which only has one unstable woman who spends all day talking into a radio thinking there is someone on the other side?

  • carver gives him a job

hmm..did he get the job? ;)

  • Considering we only have one example of Jane lying and manipulating, I think making those generalisations about her character is unfair.

For all i know she lied about everything. Jamie, the story about eating glass. She would lie about a "baby" being dead, what else would she lie about. I don't know. So i think its completely fair. We have to make judgements on what people do, Jane lied.

  • So you think if one person lies ever in their life, you can't trust a single thing they say?

Every single person has lied once in their life.

  • It depends on how much context i have with that person. With Jane, i think her dialogue was maybe a page.

She has a lot of backstory - thinking she's lying about having a sister because she lied once is like thinking Lee was a serial killer because he murdered a man.

  • I was talking about when Carver wanted to discuss things at the ski lodge in episode 2. Kenny shoots one of his guys. That was a very bad first impression.
