Greatest of all time?

Where does this rank among the greatest game of all time. I just finished Episode 3 of Season 2 last night (400 Days DLC included) and it's pretty high up.

If you mean greatest episode of the Walking Dead video game then I would say Season 1 episode 3 was the best. So much character development in that episode. Duck dying and other characters reacting to it. Really shows alot about family. Kenny's denial, Katja's depression, Clem trying to understand. And that was your first slow death. I mean it wasnt quick it was slow. Honestly everything in the episode was great. It was a sad episode, and you teach Clem how to survive (Aka family) Its a touching episode as well. A really good message in that episode and to this day it will remain my favourite Walking Dead episode.

EDIT: I read this post completely wrong haha, Idk if its the best game ever, season 2 put it a few steps back for me.

  • season 2? greatest of all time?

    hahahahahahaahahhaha

  • I meant TWD game as a whole. Season 1 + 400 Days DLC and Season 2.

Nope. Season ONE is better. In season one, actions would play out depending on your choice. For example. Clementine would either leave or shoot Lee depending on how you treated her when you refused to choose for her. In season 2. Clementine lets Jane die no matter how much you treat Kenny like shit or Jane a queen.

So, in season 1 our choices mattered because even when we didn't choose to drop Ben or save Ben, the computer registered how we were with Kenny and Ben and would drop or save as appropriate. Come Season 2 our choices didn't matter because everything plays out exactly the same.

Among the Greatest Games of All time, Season 2 is number 9000000000000000000000 out of 9000000000000000000000.

It's a joke, but to me it's true.

If you are talking about TWD, I would take the worst episode of S1 imo (3rd episode) and I would still think it was better than all of S2.

  • I meant is TWD game one of the greatest of all time. This isn't a comparison between seasons.

  • There's no denying TWD Season 1 is one of the greatest games of all time.

Season 2 on the other hand was total trash after episode 1.

  • I would hardly qualify it as a "game."

It's a huge cutscene you occasionally get to add input to.

  • S1 is the greatest TWD TTG Series ever yet, TWD S2 was meh but there was so many questions on the next times and stuff.

  • Pretty much.

  • I'd say greatest story in a video game of all time. There are other games like Bioshock that don't have as good of a story but manage to blend story with action a lot better.

  • when did i say it was

  • No I was just adding that if you want to say S1 wasn't the greatest game, at least give S2 some credit for that title also.

Hey, at least S2 didn't contribute to the crash of the video games industry

Or at least it wasn't this

    Or this

And thank the lord it wasn't a game that somehow got through steam greenlight and used to cost ten goddamned dollars

And at least it wasn't this thing either

And at least it isn't as much a depraved cash-grab as this

I do not see how anyone could claim S2 is bad when those abominations up there exist

Maybe it might be bad to you, but there is absolutely no way -no way- it can even come close to matching the commerical, critical, economic, social, and ethical failures of those games

From all the arguments I've seen against S2 on this forum I can say with 100% certainty it caused/was all of those things

it might have also shit in some peoples recees puffs and killed their father too

No this episode was good with carver and all but I was kind of disappointed with the 400 day characters because all they tell Clem is to go to work. Well at least I got to see them.

For example. Clementine would either leave or shoot Lee depending on how you treated her when you refused to choose for her. In season 2. Clementine lets Jane die no matter how much you treat Kenny like shit or Jane a queen.

I don't know if that's a fair comparison. In the former, that's the secondary character that has been with you the whole journey deciding for you. In the latter, it's you making that decision. It doesn't make as much sense for Clementine to make that choice herself, given that you're the one playing as her. That'd be like Lee making the choice to shoot or leave himself instead of Clementine.

So, in season 1 our choices mattered because even when we didn't choose to drop Ben or save Ben, the computer registered how we were with Kenny and Ben and would drop or save as appropriate

And to be the overly technical guy, Ben will always drop if you do nothing at that scene. It's not affected by previous choices.

Of course, I'm not going to deny that you're right otherwise, in that characters remember the way you treated them (Kenny and Ben in particular), and that it really did tailor the dialogue and relationships long-term. S2 did have some effects depending on the way you treated characters, but none of those really lasted long term. Nick, Rebecca, and Kenny have lines that change based on how you treated them or whether you supported them in an argument, for example, but those didn't last far beyond one or two scenes. The only exception to this would be Sarah, where the choice of being friends with her or not actually does come up throughout the rest of the season, and changes her dialogue and the way she reacts to Clementine in the trailer park.

I don't have a problem with people disliking it per-se, I just have a problem with people making it out to be an absolute travesty, when in all honesty, there's a bunch of other games that fit the bill of being an absolute travesty much, much better than it does in just about every possible category

Why the fuck do you continue to stay pressed about S1? And apparently they do sir, if you feel the need to constantly say slick shit.

Really, does TTG pay you to defend S2 or something? Do they, sir?

  • Why the fuck do you continue to stay pressed about S1?

@Green613, Does TellTale Games pay you to create their games? If not, no need to get angry and use the age insult. What next, a "your momma" insult?
