  • When Kenny saw that gun, and he accepted his fate... I had to pause the game cause I completly regretted pressing on shoot kenny. The feels man

Kinda mad that you couldn't shoot Jane after... A lil bias there.

But my initial ending was kenny, aj, and I walking off into the sunset..

  • I shot Kenny, went with Jane and let in the family. It was a pretty hasty decision to shoot Kenny, and I regretted it immediately after.

  • Kenny killed Jane, I walked with Kenny to Wellington, but decided to leave with Kenny and little AJ.

I stayed w/ kenny but let him leave when I went to wellington. I frickin' love Kenny, and am NOT going to resign myself to be with a woman who I just met who puts a baby at risk to make a point. I know Kenny's on edge... OF COURSE HE IS THIS IS THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!!

sheesh... the man's lost everything. Of course he's violent. I was over Jane's self-righteous bullhockey the moment she started spewing it.

  • My favorite ending is when Clementine and Kenny go their separate ways at Wellington. But I think the best choice (from a storytelling standpoint) is to shoot Kenny and abandon Jane.

  • Ya i think thats the ending telltale will go with for S3.

  • Oh man, definitely one of the greatest games I've played in a long, long time. I wish more games took this kind of story telling approach, it's much more immersive and satisfying. Well done, and I certainly can't wait for the 3rd season. Although I will, and I hope they take their time making it great.

That being said, I chose to kill Kenny, forgive Jane, and let the family in. I do not at all regret my choice.

Kenny, bless his big heart, was, for lack of better phrasing, losing it. He was losing it since Season 1. I know it, you know it, and all the characters from both seasons knew it. It was inevitable that he was going to die, the only question was, how was it going to end? Honestly, I had a strong feeling that Clementine would be the one to put him out of his misery. It just felt right. Lee ended Duck's suffering, and it made sense that Clementine would do the same for Kenny. The only difference was the poison; Duck from the Walker Bite, and Kenny from his growing hatred and sadness. He wanted it to end, and the only thing keeping him sane, keeping him grounded, was the baby. Even Clem had lost her impact on Kenny. That was obvious from the tussle. If that was all it took, then it was only a matter of time sad as it was.

Which brings me to Jane. She was a great character. There's a lot of story there, so much hidden, but what bubbled to the surface revealed a lot about her. What she did for her sister was heartbreaking. It showed what she was willing to do to protect someone she loved. Despite how it ended, with her sister's will finally burning out, Jane still struggled to live on and she became stronger for it. Her entire character, which is somewhat reminiscent of Michonne early on in the show, is powered by her strong will to live. And yet, you can see her walls breaking down because of Clementine. She's willing to let someone else in, someone she can care for again. Yes, her plan was cruel. Yes, she could have handled it another way. However, I can't see myself putting her completely at fault. She was scared. She was scared that someone that she had finally opened up to, that she cared for, would be taken away, much like her sister was taken away, by someone who was clearly becoming a threat to, well, everyone. She was scared, and she made a mistake, that much is certain. Kenny has done much the same in his own fear of the inevitable. I forgave kenny, sided with him, time and again, despite the repetition of his cruelty, but not in the end. That time, I chose to forgive Jane.

The Clementine I built was one that did her best to settle disputes with a steady heart. She didn't take sides, and like Lee, she tried to do what was best for the group. I think, in the end, a strong community is what will keep people alive. The bonds you form with strangers, the trust you place in them, that's all you really have. That's what the human race needs when they're all but going extinct. That's where safety comes from. So I definitely did my best to keep our group together, but of course, that didn't pan out so well. Still, having the chance to rebuild a community is definitely a good choice, maybe not the best but definitely a good one.

Kenny no longer had the right mind to live in such a community, while Jane is still capable of forming that kind of bond, like she did with Clementine. I think Clem is the influence Jane needs right now, so forgiving her, giving her that chance, I think, was the right thing to do. Taking in the family was iffy, but I didn't want to go against the Clementine I had built. Hopefully things turn out well for everyone.

I've read that Season 3 is going to be told from a different angle. I don't know much about what's been said for Season 3, but I do hope Clementine is still apart of the story. At this point I'm completely engrossed in her character that I can't really see myself playing as someone else. Who knows, just have to wait and see I guess lol.

    • Shot Kenny because he's a hothead and dangerous, good intentions or not. He knew it too and ended up thanking me so we all good.
    • Went with Jane because raising a baby alone as a little girl in a zombie apocalypse is just moronic.
    • Didn't allow the family to enter because we had just arrived back at Howe's and needed to gauge the place for supplies and security and whatnot before dealing with any potentially dangerous strangers. Maybe if they return in a week or so.

All in all I'm very happy with my first ending choices and likely won't change it for future playthroughs.

    • Let Kenny kill Jane.
    • Went with Kenny to Wellington.
    • Stayed to Wellington with AJ.
  • I did everything the same way, and I had exactly the same opinion.

  • I'm a big Kenny fan but I think you summed up the complexities of both characters really well

  • Killed Kenny, Went with Jane, let the family in,

  • I let Kenny kill Jane and stuck with him until they reach Wellington. Picking between Kenny and Wellington was the toughest choice I ever had to make out of both Season 1 and Season 2 in my opinion. Even though Kenny was practically begging Clementine to join the Wellington community with AJ for their own well-being, I thought back to Episode 2 when Luke asks Clementine:

What's the most important thing in this world?

Two of the options to reply to him were "Family" and "Safety". This was in contrast to the choice when you reach Wellington with Kenny. "Family", referring to Kenny himself and "safety" referring to staying within the walls of Wellington. Back when Luke asked that question, his own personal answer was "family" and that there was no point surviving in a post-apocalyptic world without people you can trust.

For all I know, Kenny was my family ever since I met him in Season 1, and I wasn't prepared to let Clementine's only remaining friend who had a connection with Lee leave her just to be in a "safe haven" which would eventually fall. It's happened countless times in the Walking Dead universe before; Carver's camp in the game and numerous locations within the comics like the Alexandria Safe Zone (which fell but was rebuilt two years later).

So I went with my instincts and stayed with Kenny!

  • Watched Kenny stab Jane. Then shot Kenny. Found baby and walked through herd of walkers like a boss while carrying a baby.

  • I went with Kenny and I chose to stay at Wellington. Kenny really didn't have any more purpose in his life and he was bleeding from several wounds. I consider staying at Wellington granting his final wish.

  • Kenny is typical abusing alpha male. He is not bad person from his perspective, but he was always hard to handle and he always wanted to do everything his way, with no discussion. In my season 1, he was the one worried about not enough space on the boat, not volunteering to leave behind and give his space to somebody else, although he acted like broken person because his son and wife died. He never thought about the fact that all other people lost their loved ones, too. At the season 2, everybody had to fix him up after walking through zombie horde, and he blamed Clem for getting his girlfriend killed. Yeah, I know he walked through the hell, but everybody else did, too. And my Clem always backed him up, because he was the only connection to Lee. He is the main reason why Clem didn't get close to Luke, although Luke is thousand times better person than Kenny.
Yes, the test Jane did was messed up, but it was a good test. Now, Kenny is the one who can be angry that AJ "died"? Who made them go to the coldest part of the world and abandoned them in car, to get "some fumes"? For the level of "alphaness" he showed, he should be much less of a coward. Then I will respect him and I will not shoot him.

Now, I shot him, I stayed with Jane and I let that family in.

  • That was a beautiful answer.

  • Alone with AJ, killing Kenny was the hardest thing I ever had to do and when I learned what Jane had done I had to abandon her.

  • Let Kenny kill Jane. Feasted on Jane's remains.

  • I kill keny because i am tired of him i leave with Jane and the family my brother kill keny and left Jane behind i Cant wait for season 3

  • Same. Your supposed to kill Kenny.

Killed Jane, Went to Wellington, Left with Kenny.

    Playthrough 2:
Let Kenny die, Went with Jane, Let Family In.

  • So, you let Kenny become a Rabid Dog then gave away a chance to protect something previous.

S1 Kenny would hate you and call you a bad parent.

  • Picked the only logical and best ending which is saving Kenny from himself by putting him down, went with Jane for the baby's sake and let the Family in as you must learn to trust others or you're doomed.

  • Leave with kenny

  • Let Kenny kill Jane , abandoned Kenny.

  • Couldn't bring myself to shoot Kenny while roleplaying Clem... Yes, he was broken, but Jane (even though I liked her) really made it worse with her barrage of phrases that were bound to get him riled up. Then, once they both started fighting... they both were just as bad. I actually liked the ending where Clem and AJ stay at Wellington a little better than the ending to the first game... It's just emotional (of course S1 was extremely emotional too), you see Kenny "get his redemption" and you feel like there's hope for little AJ after all. As someone said, it was like he made good on Lee's promise to find her a safe place. In fact, I'd be fine if they just ended Clem's story there (re: future season). I do like that there seemed to be more alternate "ending choices" this time around. Enjoy reading the discussions.

  • Same as me brother. Can't lose Kenny. No matter what.

  • Ah...I remember the days when there was a huge war in this forum in regards to Jane vs. Kenny.

  • It was hard for me to chose between Jane and Kenny but I had to shoot Kenny because I knew that he would only be trouble later, so I shot Kenny and went with Jane, and the only reason I forgave her for hiding the baby is because I didn't want to end up on my own. Then I went back to the place where we where kidnapped (sorry it has been a while since I played the game and I forgot the name) anyways I ended up letting that family in, still not sure if that was a good idea, but only season 3 will tell!

Chose to go with Jane and let the family in. It was difficult but I wasn't going to let Kenny just kill Jane over an assumption without letting her speak by beginning a fight. Plus I liked Jane's idea of going back to Howe's for AJ's sake since they know there's baby formula there, which didn't seem to matter since AJ is still fine after 9 days regardless of the endings.

  • Controversial times...
