Nothing official has been posted about season 3 yet and in the video they didn't say that there wouldn't be any returning characters but from around 6:00 into the video they did talk about Christa saying that sometimes people just get separated and that "you need to have those threads that don't tie up nicely", they also seemed unsure how the end of season 2 could lead into season 3 but the video was recorded August 2014 so it's likely they have a better idea of where things will be going by now.
I don't have any real evidence of this, and it'll take too long for me to find a source that's remotely similar to what I read. You'll just have to take my word with a grain of salt.
Thank you for the video, I had forgotten about it after all these months.
Still, I hope they change their mind about Christa's fate. All those months with preparing and caring for Clementine for Lee's sake, and then casually tossing her aside seems like a waste of a good character.
I think you might be thinking about this video

Fortunately, a large part of why they made Michonne was to help ease the wait - just like how 400 Days was made to ease the wait for Season 2. A common misconception is that 400 Days and Michonne slowed down Seasons 1 and 2, but that's not really the case - Seasons 2 and 3 were both going to come at their normal time, they just created something on the side to keep Walking Dead on people's radars.
I loved Clementine as the main character, but I feel like they fairly well ended her story. I'm afraid it would just drag things out to go with her. Plus if we did play her it would pretty certainly mean Kenny/Jane (name?) would be killed off, or they would have to make a canon decision for the end of season 2. There would be no way that they would write two distinctly different stories for the game I don't think.
I’m really tired of waiting for S3.
TTG - you decided to make your games that way (episodically and divided into seasons) and you should have known that - games are about experience. While game is divided and based on unique, unrepeatable experience, more than the annual gap between seasons is harmful to that experience.
I know that Michonne series will be released soon, but TWD is about expresion and that expresion is connected to Clem (our choices about her), so the gap (in the experience) is continuing.

Can i just say i'm kinda scared that i'm not gonna like season 3 because we are probably gonna play as clementine wich is something that i REALLY disliked in season 2.
I do not want to wait until Season 3 ... that can come out at the end of 2016! A lot of time! Miniseries should make it easier for the wait. But it's really hard ... We do not know anything about Season 3! At least clue, something ...

I don't know the release schedule telltale are planning to do for this dlc. Hopefully its the standard 4-6 weeks since the faster it finishes the faster season 3 can start
Telltale aren't slowing down Season 3 to work on Michonne. Michonne (and 400 Days) are both extras that Telltale made to keep Walking Dead on people's minds since Season 3 is further off. If we did not get Michonne or another Walking Dead mini-series, then we would either get another game from Telltale or nothing at all, and Season 3 would still come out at the same time.

Damn , I didn't read this forum since the very beginning of June this year, and as I see nothing has changed. We still don't know anything about S3 , and it makes me sad. TfTB and GoT are pretty awesome , but c'mon , where's TWD?

Well, we're in November and still no news. Not of the Michonne DLC, or Season Three. So what's going on?
Once again, it's the usual telltale superiority complex syndrome.
They know people are clambering for news of the Michonne DLC and of course Clementine, but as usual they will go with the silent treatment.
Only breaking the silence by saying ridiculous statements now and again like, 'soon' or 'round the corner'.
Which in reality means about six to eight months, or even longer.
If it carries on like this, we will be playing Season Three on the Playstation 20 and Z Box 3000.
It's only November 1st, lol. They did say we could expect some news about Michonne later this month, but they also said not to expect any news about Season 3 until Michonne ends. And, before anybody asks, Michonne isn't slowing down Season 3. If we didn't get Michonne or some other game, we'd have either gotten nothing or an entirely different game from Telltale that was not Walking Dead related. They have said they are still working out details on the Season 3 story, and as was the case with 400 Days for Season 1, they are giving us Michonne to keep Walking Dead fresh in people's minds while they work on Season 3.

i would love to see an update on Molly from Crawford. It would be cool if kenny lives. i played through it many times and its possible. why wouldn't you trust kenny??
what if jane lived too? she could be the antagonist possibly?
Nah, I prefer to kill him myself if possible. That bastard almost killed Clem, I'm shooting him the second I see him again. But I would guess getting him chomped is another acceptable option.

Nobody knows the exact release date yet, it will release some time after the Michonne mini series ends which is some time in 2016 so it'spossivle that season 3 could release some time in 2016.
I merged your thread with the current season 3 waiting thread which will be the best place to check for updates.
Well, Michonne is going to take work to make as well right? So why not use that time and energy that you are blowing on making Michonne and make Season 3 instead? I assume they are limited in their time and schedule. So why not expend all that time and energy to make Season 3 happen? Now, with Michonne in the way, they're gonna spend time making that, which only takes away time and resources from doing season 3. I think that is a very logical assumption. What sems strange to me is to think that making Michonne will have zero impact on the release date for S3.
Also, now i hear Michonne is not coming out until Summer 2016?
They aren't delaying Season 3 because of Michonne.
How do you know this?
Because it seems fair assume that the resources they are putting into the mini-series will invariably impact the speed at which Season 3 is created and released.
exactly. Thank you. I understand that they have a limited number of staff to make these and that a gap between seasons is inevitable, but this is just taking that too far. If you leave 2 to 3 years between seasons - I mean that sort of craps on the whole experience and defeats the purpose. Imagine if the comics themselves or even the TV show had like a 2 to 3 year break between seasons? Im sorry to say this, but someone is badly managing all this for whatever reason and the fans are left hanging or, alternately, coming here saying the same thing over and over again. Boo...

So i read on Twitter or something that Michonne wont come out until Summer 2016? So that means Season 3 wont be out until...what? Fall 2017, summer 2018? Is this really a thing? Wow. I too am tired of waiting for the next season. This is project management gone bad dudes. You cant just leave a 2 to 3 year break between seasons....then why even bother...massive fail. And then the constant delays. First Michonne was October, then late fall, now December, now I hear summer 2016...gee
Michonne premieres this fall, not next Summer. It's not taking away resources from Season 3, we're getting it in place of another Telltale Season so that they can focus on Season 3 while still giving something to keep Walking Dead fans occupied. It's not a choice between Michonne and then Season 3 later/no Michonne and then Season 3 sooner, it's a choice between Telltale making Michonne or some other regular game while we would've gotten Season 3 at the same time regardless.
They were already taking their time on Season 3, and Michonne doesn't change that. If anything, perhaps they announced Season 3 too early.

Um, you do understand, that they have to put a lot of effor into this game, make alternate paths depending of what you choose at the end of season 2, make mattering choices and other stuff like that to make it perfect. It's not that easy as you think it is. Telltale puts their hearts and souls into this game, let them have their time with making this, you don't want this season to be rushed and shitty? Right?

Now that Life Is Strange and Tales From The Borderlands are over and Game Of Thrones just about to be.. Walking Dead Season 3 can't come fast enough.

I suspect that our choices wont matter and we'll be shoehorned upon one path which is just Clemy with the Baby.
