One thing I think we're missing here is a Rhyiona Discussion about Vault Hunter Fiona and Atlas CEO Rhys. Like I know we've chatted/gossiped about it but not actually discussed how it would work in a future game either BL3 or another season. So let's try to have a practicality talk about Rhyiona's future, would anyone want to try that?
Rhys would probably be the patron of the new patch of Vault-Hunters,giving them Atlas guns and gear for a discounted price,he'd also be a mission provider.
Fiona I want to be an NPC,providing missions for the new Vault-Hunters and helping them farther in the story,I don't want her to be one of the playable Vault-Hunters as that'd probably ruin her,unless they completely make an overhaul to the PC system.I think you could either find her chillin' in Sanctuary,doing "business" in the new Atlas HQ or just running around Pandora doing usual Vault-Hunter crap.
Vaughn would probably still be the leader of The Children of Helios,providing support for the Crimson Raiders if anything goes downhill,plus he could sell some "unique" Hyperion weapons from whatever was left over after Helios crashed on Pandora.
Sasha would most likely stay at Hollow Point,she could be the radio presenter in there providing some witty dialogue to listen to,plus she could give you missions.
August could be a new gang lord,and you know how well that went down in BL2 :V
Cassius would probably be working for Atlas again,he could be buddys with Rhys after some time.
I have other suggestions for other people in BL,but that would take forever!

I can see Lilith as an opponent for training purpose but as an actual villain I would love to see Gearbox actually step out of their comfort zone and have it set up that player interaction will impact characters. Like for Lilith, maybe if she offers those bonus tasks on missions, but they're kind of excessive and cruel. If you do enough of them, she slowly becomes more heartless and eventually you have to fight her (not to kill, but more smack sense into her), but if you don't do a certain amount of them she stays the same, and if you do none she actually becomes more compassionate (not that she's not, just I guess she makes the war more about ending the Mega Corps. reign for honorable intentions not just glory and loot, like I'd figure a lot of VH's would be).
Rhys is such an easy excuse to bring back guns from the first game that were removed from 2 and also an excuse to create more wacky guns (I still am gonna spam Gearbox about a few character ideas that fall into this nicely).
As for the pair. I'd view it almost like a reverse Han Solo and Leia. Rhys sits back and lets Fiona go off to be a hero while he helps from the sidelines.

Ah glad to see that I am not the only one thinking Lilith has a potential to be a great villain. She is literally on the verge of losing her sanity since BL2. She is overdosing on Eridium as well, and then the tip of her iceberg got tipped when Roland was killed. In the last scene of the pre-sequel you get to see that she's far from being a good judge. And here I am thinking of her final decision concerning Athena just because she was still angry on a dead man.
Plus let's face it... she is egocentric and has a hero complex the same way Jack did. She believes she is 'the good guy' when Pandora is only made of antiheroes and villains.
I really love the way her character has developed and she is really one step away from going completely crazy with power.

It's her, btw (sorry I never identified that lol)...and I have two actually! If you're interested in more of the general Borderlands fangirl-ness it's a-borderlands-tale (same as my url on AO3), but if you're interested in more about some background of the story and one-shots and the like concerning that universe, then the-pandora-saga is a blog solely dedicated to the series. :-)

Simply, I hope Borderlands 3 doesnt try to mess with Tale's story because I feel like the only real way to pick up that story is in Tales season 2.

Id love to have August to be in Bl3, but I think it would be awesome for him to be found in the Purple Skag, and maybe give some missions.
Also, I said above why I didnt want Fiona as a Vault Hunter, but if she did become one it wouldnt feel right, Fiona is obviously a strong capable person, but she's been shown to not be able to be a "true" Vault Hunter. I mean if she was a playable character in Bl3 and I was using her to lift a rocket launcher, something would feel wrong.

Gearbox will definitely connect the two games. What I am scared of is them not screwing everything up. If I were to speak realistically, if there will be a Borderlands 3, it will not have Fiona as a VH and Rhys as the CEO. Instead it will connect to their disappearance and the 'war that is about to happen'. They ported somewhere and the next game will probably start to connect the dots. Plus there is no confirmation for a Borderland 3. Actually the official statement from Gearbox was pretty much flimsy when it came to a continuation of the series in the Borderlands shooter style. They said that the universe has still a lot to offer but maybe with different approaches. Plus 2K Australia, the ones that made the Pre-Sequel closed so.. I don't want to piss in anyone's cup but the future of the game as a shooter is not that sure.
What I want for Fiona and Rhys is for their story to be continued in the next season of TFTBL and focus on that. I'd like them to appear sequentially in a possible Borderlands game but I am not sure I am willing to take the risk and have their characters lose parts of what makes them great.
Plus, to be completely honest I am not thrilled of the whole 'war' setting. For me what made the games great so far was that there was no higher purpose as a cliche. It was about people skinning each-other in an attempt to get rich and famous. It's like you are playing with a pirate. There is literally no right and good character in this game and that made the plot so different and great.
Having this sudden great war and give everything a serious turn of events is... a bit of a turn off. Does anyone remember the way Borderlands should have looked when the game was announced? All grim and serious? It would have been just another shooter in the pile of games. But someone was smart enough to change that.
Anywho... the subject ran away from me. I like to at least hear from them in any setting.Give me that as a sort of humorous content. But yeah, ultimately, I want their story to go on in the Tales version.
