TWDG - when did you first get jumpscared?

edited February 2016 in The Walking Dead

I'm interested to know, at what point of The Walking Dead Game in both Season 1 and Season 2, did you get your first jump scare?

For me in Season 1 I think I got jumpscared when Sandra came out of nowhere, I didn't expect it cause I checked the entire room so I thought I was safe... foolish mistake. Actually, I think it was when the Atlanta Police Officer suddenly turned, I was expecting it, it was just the sudden jump attack that got me xD

In Season 2, I got jumpscared when those crows flew out of the bushes whilst Clementine was walking down the trail, darn birds!

  • The only jumpscare I can think of is the one where Lee finds the walker in the car, that made me jump to high heaven XD

  • Same! I didn't expect it xD I was just trying to explore and then boom xD so much effort just to get animal crackers.

    1. S1: the walker in the that abandoned car in ep3
    2. S2: im not sure what to add here...that walker in the cabin scared me a bit so yeah I will put this here...
  • The walker in the car in episode 3

Ben jumping out with the axe in his hand in episode 4

Walker biting Lee in episode 4

season 2: that walker in the shack from episode 1

  • The one behind the train in Episode 3. It's not required to go there so it can be missed.

  • Season 1: THAT BASTARD WALKER IN THE CAR, him jumping out gets me every time because I always forget about him!
And also the asshole walker who bit Lee was scary haha.

Season 2: The crows in Episode 1 and maybe Johnny being shot in Episode 2.

  • In S1: that random walker that bit Lee all of a sudden.

In S2: In No Going Back when Clementine just randomly trips when she's walking to the rest stop.

  • I must've skipped that part then. Thanks for clarifying it.

  • S1: in Episode 4 when that walker comes out of nowhere from the side of this small little shed building

  • Never

It's a great game but I didn't think it was scary at all

  • When Stranger was standing behind the fence.

  • The walker in the car by the train scared the hell out of me and the walker in the shed in Crawford.

  • Not really scared by anything in this game, but I really felt it when Carver gut shot Clem when rescuing Alvin. Owwy.

  • The shed with the walker fucking gets me every time

  • The walker in the shed in Crawford
    The walker that bit Lee
The walker in the shed in Season 2
Note to everyone (stay away from the sheds)

  • In Season 1 I was first scared by Andy and his god damned rifle pointed directly at your face, after Kenny told you to scope out when to attack. Fuck it still gets me whenever I replay it

  • When the dog bit clem.

  • I think it was Danny who did that. Oh my God, that was... one of the worst things I've ever seen, because that legit made me shout. Just imagining it is creepy.

Before I knew it was overun I was kinda scared of going into Crawford which was known to be full of sadistic bad guys. Episode 4 of S1 for me felt much like I was playing Resident Evil game.

I found Wyatt's story in 400 days quite scary, but other than that I can't think of much else. Especially S2 where it might have been scary if you were younger than 6 years old.

  • The only real time was when the stranger was behind the fence

  • The stranger behind the fence. that was creepy as f***!!!!

  • Jump scares aren't scary. They startle at best. Honestly, while I love the Walking Dead games, I can't think of a single moment that actually scared me. Disturbed, yes. Sad, yes. Other feelings? Yes.

Fear is rare for me from any media. It has to be thought out carefully. It has to be clever and suspenseful.

  • The stranger on that fence ;-; i was expecting something to happen when I set Lee to look at the grave, but I forgot it while thinking like "poor boy", and suddenly there was a guy looking .-.

  • The stranger behind the fence in the fog

  • Season 1 Episode 3, the walker in the car with the crackers. I swear I didn't see that one coming. XD

S1 E4 - When Lee and the gang are in Crawford, Lee is walking in the alley and walks into the shed and almost gets eaten by a walker, I thought it was safe because nothing was there the first time, I was not expecting that one
