Did I miss something? last I heard about this series, job said that we need to play at least the 1st ep of season 2.. unless its been reworked story wise?

It was going to be DLC for season 2 so required season 2 episode 1 installed to work but they have now changed it so that it will now be a standalone product.

I'm not understanding your question...Telltale Games are the devs & publishers, Steam is just a platform where their games are made available upon release...

Like Vernon? Yeah I suppose. I don't know, since this game roughly takes place the same time Season 2 in a different place in America. Couple hundred miles from Tennessee to that area of Virginia.
A bit of both. For the central ones, it be kind of neat if the ones that didn't leave the camp ended up in like Monroe.
But for the others, we got what, Nate? Eddie? One of the Gil's Pilstop people? The only one of those really affected by choices would be Eddie I guess.
I agree. Especially since she was seen in the reveal trailer alongside the other Monroe Colony characters. It's the same shirt, the same vest, same hairstyle and same rifle.
Gil's Pitstop people… uh, I don't know. We have Roman, Stephanie, Boyd, Joyce and Clive. Roman was seen dead by the river in "All That Remains", so that's not possible. Stephanie was either killed by Shel, or likely killed by Roman after Shel and Becca fled. Boyd could be killed by Roberto's group if you let him leave.
The last time we saw Roman's group was on day 286, if I'm right. The next time we see their shelter was on day 400, with Tavia, and the place was completely overrun. Sadly, that potentially means that Joyce and Boyd (if he survived the attack) were devoured.
So, that leaves us with… Clive… I guess? He could turn out to be an interesting character if they utilize him correctly.

You don't necessarily have to hate a villain, you can still sympathize - or at least respect - her if she's well written.

Keep the characters separate in your head and you'll be fine.
You can buy their games from this website, in the past some of their episodes came out earlier on that version.
Could be a character who isn't affected much by our choices, like, I don't know, Mike or Arvo.
That might not work since Bonnie could either be with them or dead.
They could fudge that by saying she died implying that she ends up dying regardless? Or even left them. Saying something like 'now Bonnie's gone'.

I would think a character like Molly could work. The more minor the character, the better. 400 Days guys come to mind.
