You are a theif no matter what sir!
So did anyone finally understand why the heck Arvo and his damn group attack you even if you didn't steal the medicine or is it because the writers were lazy and wanted to take a vacation to Ohio?

Lazy writters
Jane steals his gun no matter what.
That, and she also scared Arvo to death, holding him at gunpoint and over the handrail of the observation deck. From that point onwards, he just told the rest of the group and they decided it would be a good shot to retaliate and take their supplies.
If only they knew they weren't the ones with plot armor!
Lazy writers. That happened a lot in S2.
In my opinion Arvo and his group were bandits. Everything about them suggests this.
I also think Arvo was a drug addict hence why he was hiding those meds. Maybe even the whole group was and they were all starting to turn on each other then Arvo steps in saying "I know who took them".
The incident with Arvo hiding the bags full of medicine is never truly explained, and was probably just put there so Jane and Clementine (determinately) can rob him, which triggers the following ambush in the finale.
Technically, Arvo does get robbed as his gun is never returned to him, and Jane letting him leave gives him the opportunity to explain to his group of how he was mugged by a bandit.
They probably just tried to pin it off as something fans didn't care about. The entire situation of him being there without any explanation given was just there for forced conflict. The choice itself was the most poorly hidden one in TWD. The illusion of choice thing was thrown out the window by careless writers. Even thinking about how terrible Amid The Ruins was, still leaves me feeling disappointed as all hell. Well at least JT Petty got paid for his "god like" writing skills
I always considered it weird anyway that Arvo was throwing the meds into the fucking trash can.... like, could they have somewhat addressed that? As many pointed out, there was just all in all lazy writing with Arvo.
I don't know if the writers really needed to address that. It seemed like it was outside the scope of the game. I mean I doubt any character in the game really cared about what he was doing with the meds, or whether he was a druggie or whatever. It was more like, the kid has meds, do we steal them or not? After the shootout it just wasn't important anymore.
This. We did steal his gun and left him defenseless, and we threatened him.
If the situation were reversed and Arvo and Jane did that to Clem, everyone would be salivating for Clem to get revenge on their group. So, as i see it, it's pretty hypocritical to condemn Arvo outright for the actions of his group, when we are the ones who started it all - misunderstanding or not.
Same reason Carly or Doug both die at the same place.
He was putting it as a hiding spot for his group.
Because plot.
Well, no matter what, Jane steals Arvo's gun. The group is attacked b/c they assumed Jane was still with them and when they realize she's not Clem's group is still guilty by association b/c the Russians think that it could be a set up.
You. I like you.
But...Why? It could have been easily stolen by looters since this late into the apocalypse any loot source; even trashcans, are worth a look...
I don't know. I guess it really hasn't been explained.
Ok, I'm going to go on a rant here... you've been warned.
God, what a waste Arvo and his hokey little gang of drooleys that couldn't even hit the broad side of a barn were to the entire last episode...
"How do we follow up possibly one the most climatic and intense cliffhangers we've ever done? I know let's make it so that there's no fucking consequence whatsoever! And furthermore make it so that Arvo is now a hostage and nothing happens that relates to Clementine, make it more Kenny! More plot device AJ! More Arvo and him being sympathetic because rawr killing people is bad... rawr rawr no matter what circumstance it is rawr!"
And that's the problem with taking a leap that big, is that most people in that situation would bullet fuck Arvo back to Shangri-La in a heartbeat. And that's why no one on Clem's "side" (of course, they were more empathetic to a thief who tried killing them) died. Cause could you imagine if it were realistic? Two or three on Clem's side got shot up and died as a result and Clem had a decision herself to murder the little scum, giving her actual agency? Everyone would kill him.
But pass him off as someone without a gun, make his sister die, and his posse of pussies, and then bodda-boom! He's suddenly got half of the community backing him as a tragic character. Pssht.
But his sister was sick, he wouldn't use them for himself would he?
lol
Probably out of fear, after all Jane threatened him with the gun and he had a sick sister so he probably felt threatened by the group as a whole.
