Well, I've been here for three months now and I couldn't hep but notice this thread is far more active than the others. Also, I thought Season 3 didn't start until November?
So, what's the point of this thread exactly
We typically like to make waiting threads for the Season Premiere of a game when we are … morearound several weeks away from the premiere.
and why did it have 51 new comments on it?
Walking Dead has a large fan base on the Telltale forums, so threads in the TWD section are usually a little more active even in downtime.
For Season Premieres, we like to make the Waiting Thread around 4-8 weeks (ideally) before we think the episode premieres, with 6 weeks being the sweet spot.
As I said above, Walking Dead just attracts a more active crowd than other forums.

I joined after season 1 finished but around a year before season 2 started, i mostly lurked the forums until 400 days was announced and talked about that for a while and then mostly lurked again until season 2 news started releasing, after that i started participating on the forums more often.
Can we get a roll call going real quick? How many Season 1 or 2 members do we have here? I joined early Season 2. I probably won't be participating in the forum as much due to my senior semester of college. #civilengineering

In order to pass a little time.
I'm placing bets on what people think Javier's status will be by the end of the season.
*Voting has en… moreded, results posted on next page.
I voted Alive, just to buck the convention set up by Season 2's "scorched Earth policy."
Edit: I'll leave the poll open for a few days and post the results further down the discussion.
I guess time really does fly. This waiting period has been a breeze so far and now we have our first waiting thread of the season. It won't be long now. We've waited two years, we can definitely get through this last stretch and we'll be playing the first episode before we know it. The first season was amazing, the second season was good, but had some weak points, therefore it didn't have the same magic as season 1, but it was still good nonetheless. Hopefully season 3 will improve on those weak points from season 2. We just need to push through a little while longer, and then we'll have our answer.

If they incorporate Alexandria Safe-Zone into the cluster of communities that Clementine and Javier will visit, it's probable that he'll make a cameo—or maybe even extended appearance—along with other prominent characters.
After all, Telltale has said that main characters from the comic will have a role in the third season.
If this were the last season, I could definitely see them presenting a choice where both Javier and Clementine become determinant. Not in a straight-forward fashion, though—more like you know one of the two will die but you're not certain of the result of either route.

They'll probably be secondary characters at most. The idea of a character being main in one medium and secondary in another sounds exciting to me—like what they did with Pete and Siddiq.
This post does relate to The Walking Dead, but if this by any chance counts as off-topic spamming or anything, please just notify me so I do… moren't repeat any similar actions in this thread. I wasn't exactly sure where I could share this, so here it is, for now.
Bonecage, a.k.a. that one YouTuber that very few of you probably know about, just uploaded another Walking Dead Tribute video. This one is dedicated to Clementine and was made in anticipation of Season 3.
I absolutely love this guy's "Sweetpea" (Lee and Clem tribute) and "Get it Together" (Kenny tribute) songs, and this one was no exception. I happen to fangirl and get very emotional over any well-done tribute, but those that create unique lyrics for the characters have a special place in that empty section in my chest where my heart should be located. If any of you have time, I'd recommend you check out this tribute and possibly the other two videos that I listed before. You won't be sorry...
I am SO excited for A New Frontier! I can't even contain it! I'm so amazed at how much Clem has grown, and I can't wait to see her again! She is my favorite character!
The day this video doesn't kill me is the day that I die. Seriously, there was this one time where I found a ten hour version. I may or may not have played it constantly, driving everyone I live with insane while I personally reached enlightenment.
Tell me about it i remember the PAX interview and holy shit we were all SO PISSED we dident get anything xD
Im sooooo excited to play as someone new and ma girl clem ^-^ I miss her SOOOOO MUCH!!!

Is anyone excited to meet Javi? There are a LOT of Javi haters out there and i dont understand why...We barely know nothing about him and people are so quick to judging him
He seems cool, badass, kind, sexy, loyal and people are saying they want him to be ripped apart by zambies????? Its heartbreaking to know people feel this way.....

I'd just prefer if Telltale focused on developing their own characters and give them the full attention, unlike other characters who've had shit tons of history in the comics. And to be honest, I like that the while the comic and games are connected, both are there to tell separate stories with separate characters.
Why not?

[Random Season 3 pondering of the day...]
Do you think Javier can balance a spoon on his chin?
I just...get that vibe about him. He's a chinny spoon balancer.
Or or it'll be like Until Dawn when the prompt comes up
DON'T MOVE!
[controller vibrates as suspenseful music intensifies]
[Sound of a spoon clanging to the floor]
Javier: ah, pedazo de mierda!
I think it depends on what kind of comic character we're talking about. For example, if we're talking about background/secondary characters like Pete or Siddiq, they pretty much benefit from Telltale being able to expand upon them.
Pete and Siddiq are practically background characters in the comic, but the miniseries helped make them actual characters and gave them depth.
If they were to take lesser known and lesser developed characters from the comic, it would work out pretty well. Because at that point, they basically are Telltale's own original character.
That being said, I wouldn't mind some of the bigger characters having roles, as long as they don't get too much in the way of the S3 characters. Not to mention, there are some notable characters in the comic that haven't gotten all that much focus, so maybe it'd be a good thing for Telltale to do something with them. People like Aaron or Heath, for example. Aaron can be considered a main character in the comic, and he's pretty well-known by readers, but he hasn't really done too much recently. Similar situation with Heath, who hasn't gotten much character development since AOW, over 25 issues ago. If characters like those guys came into contact with us in S3, I think it'd be a positive for them as characters. However, if it was someone very integral to the comics, like Rick, Dwight or Maggie, then I could agree. Those types of characters wouldn't be the best choice, but the ones that aren't as heavily involved in the current comic storyline, or aren't really being focused on would be fine.

Okay so this maybe isn't TWD related, but I got paged to the front of the store today so on my way up there, once of the guys told me my bride is here. I was like huh? my Wife? he said No, your bride.. So i was like ummm okay. When I got the the registers, there was a woman dressed as a zombie bride. They told her i'm kinda the TWD fanatic of the company so I had to meet her.. She was from a local Haunted House company shooting a commercial for a car dearlership. I so wanted to ask her to take a pic of her but I thought it might be inappropriate but she did sooo good on her costume. Anyways, thought I'd share that with y'all.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled TWD S3 thread.

I joined right before ep 5 of season 2, although I wish I joined back in October 2013 when I was playing wolf and season 2 live
Walking dead fans are wild. Just wait till the episode actually releases, you'll have to refresh the page ever 10 seconds.
Agreed. I think he'll be alive by the end.

I was interested in Telltale since January 2014, I was lurking around this forum and then I finally joined in December 2014.
Exactly. When I looked back at old comments from August 2014 I felt bad for all of us and now BOOM, it's almost S3 time.
I don't think this will ever cease to bring me infinite joy.
I'm glad it's almost over. It won't be long now. I'm definitely ready to play this game when it comes out.
I want carl and clem to meet in season 3 that could be fun.
I think he'll be determinant.
That'd be a Telltalish move.

Determinant status is a fate worse than death
...literally
so yeah, definitely sounds like Telltale

If they lake Javier, I shall riot.
if they lake Clementine, I shall riot some more.
Yeah, I reckon Javier will live, as I say Telltale might try to keep some characters alive for the next seasons.
Which, hopefully, won't be anything too major.
Why not?
They'll probably be secondary characters at most. The idea of a character being main in one medium and secondary in another sounds exciting to me—like what they did with Pete and Siddiq.
Yay!! ^-^ Cant wait to meet Javii!
I really hope Dave Fennoy will be voicing (Previously on The Walking Dead) In S3....
I miss him so much :´)
She is EVERYONE'S favorite character she rules
I'm actually not working on Walking Dead at all right now, so I have no idea. My life is made only of Batman.
The day this video doesn't kill me is the day that I die. Seriously, there was this one time where I found a ten hour version. I may or may not have played it constantly, driving everyone I live with insane while I personally reached enlightenment.

Skye, you're back!
Do you have any sort of say in what games you work on or are they mostly "assigned" to you?
I'm excited to meet him, he seems very cool and badass.
