In my opinion, Season Three should go a step further and acknowledge that these people's lives are not so different than ours; they still used to live in our society and their past routines continue to be in the back of their heads. Show that to us, so a broader amount of players can relate!

A bunch of battle-hardened adults that had a ton of advantages over her
As well as escaping a 15+ man ambush after they followed her to her hideout
And managing to evade the town residents in their own town that they should know the layout of
And yet everyone gets on Clementine's case about shutting off a wind turbine and kicking down a door
We'll need to see what skills Clementine has picked up in A New Frontier, but it'd be hard to challenge someone who almost single-handedly t… moreook down an entire town of cannibals and murderers, can take care of a grievously injured man, and who can track and kill a deer with a bow easily.

Well, the argument usually wagered in favor of TLoU is that with the narrative pull being more of an action game, there needs to be gameplay segments that pad out the length while steadily increasing the challenge in a way that continues the story organically.
One thing that can be said is that although Ellie is immensely OP with the bow as well as fleet-footed is that her playable segments don't allow her the same level of strength or health as Joel and thus swaps more action-oriented mentality with cunning stealthy tactics.
As well, I always found that the crux being addressed in the winter portion of the game is a kind-of deconstruction of typical narratives. You see, Ellie never needed Joel to save her. She took out David by herself, she successfully made her way to the tail-end of the town and effectively killed over half the group (it could even be argued that without her softening the town's members, Joel couldn't have made it as far as he did). She never really needed Joel to protect her, and that's what I find so interesting about the winter segments of the game.
It shows that she became a hardened survivor more than capable of making it on her own, the only question is should she?
"It can't be for nothing." Although she can survive, she doesn't exactly rally behind the ideal of surviving being the approach she wants if it means having to do the stuff she's done. Honestly, she is one of the more layered and interesting character examinations I've seen in a game.

Depending on weather you and Jane were arguing all the time in Season 2. Or if you got along depends on if Clementine hands Jane a tool belt or not. Either saving her life or ending it. One stops Jane so she turns around and graciously accepts the tool belt. Or if she grabs it her self and storms out the door. One ends in a bullet in the Shoulder the other ends Jane's life.
Jane crawls inside taking another round in the leg if she survives and grabs a shotgun just inside the emergency exit door. Dies buying clementine time to prepare. Killing 2 of the eleven assailants. With multiple shotgun blast form just inside the door.

Wow, I can't believe time flew so fast. We're already at Season 3 and I remember Season 2 ending, all the commotion in the forums etc. and the most fun part; the waits between episodes. Those were brilliant. People were so bored and desperate during those times that lots of memes and fan content was created.
