personally, i wouldn't like Daryl to die coz he's an original TV character. if he goes, there would be no more or at least so little differe… morence between the TV & Comics anymore. it would now only seem like they are just switching character deaths (like Abraham's to Denise's, Tyreese's Herschel's, etc) if they base their story too much in the comics, then people who read the comics wouldn't be that interested in watching it anymore, since they know the story line, just switched character deaths.
It definitely wasn't Rick or Carl. Because he said "Anybody moves, anybody says anything, cut the boy's other eye out and feed it to his fat… moreher, and THEN we'll start.". It wasn't either of the ladies, because Negan likes women, or he at least dosen't allow rape. I think it was either Daryl or Aaron. If it was Glenn, Maggie would have been screaming. If it was Abraham, Sasha would be screaming (because they just formed a relationship). And if it was Eugene, he wouldn't be "taking it like a champ". I'm calling it here, it was either Daryl or Aaron, because Aaron wasn't seen shedding a single tear.
I think it was Abraham. The way Negan said “look, he’s taking it like a champ” is a dead give-away. I mean, just earlier, when Negan looked at Abraham, Abraham didnt cower, he looked him straight in the eye with his head held high. And now he took it like a champ and got up after the first hit by Negan. It must be Abraham. When Negan looked at Glenn, the light was full in his face but when he hit w Lucille, the POV shot showed his face only partially lit, so it cant be Glenn.
That said, the entire ambush part of the show was rather too convenient. The Saviors were always inexplicably 5 steps ahead of Rick and his group.
Are the Saviors in Stealth mode or something?
The problem with this show lately is that there are a lot of these quasi deus ex machina moments that just gnaw away (pun not intended) at the believability of the show. Things dont happen to the characters as a natural result of plausible actions and decision making based on any of their given characters, but because the writers have an endpoint in mind and instead of allowing the plot to get there naturally, they force the characters to make out-of-character, bad choices just to move the plot along in the direction they want.
These people don’t find themselves in this horrible situation because they had to make hard choices. They are there because of stupidity and making lousy choices, which, sort of, makes all these deaths senseless. Like Jessy and her family, Diana, her husband, Denise and now whoever it is fucking Rick got killed.
Rick and his group were completely unprepared. They went into this with a feeling of smug superiority (which doesnt make sense), letting their guard down and and they got a bunch of people killed.
I still dont understand how the Saviors did not know about Alexandria all this time. With their capabilities and just sheer number of people, it is inconceivable to me that they never, ever came across a prosperous community such as Alexandria.
Finally, and as a general observation,I dont think it makes sense that people have degenerated to this level of savagery and barbarism only 2 or 3 years into the ZA (going by Judy’s age) to the point of just being able to calmly gather together while someone else bashes in the head of another human being in a ritual killing while laughing and joking. I know this is the apocalypse and people do bad things to survive, but killing a man for food and shelter is different than ritual murder of people (and boys) with a barbed bat cause you want to teach them a lesson. To cold bloodedly bashing a man’s head in, is no easy feat. I dont think it is something that comes naturally to most (healthy) people.
Definitely not looking forward to another “psychopathic group we must fight” season. Is that all there is now? Psychos and Walkers? I mean these are not just selfish people, these thugs and murderer sociopath, evil people.
Does the world we live in secretly consist of a bunch of psychopaths who are hiding their psychopathy behind the thin veneer of civilization? Are we ALL, at the end of the day, more or less just wolves in sheep’s clothing waiting for crap to go down so that we can unleash that inner beast and murder one another brutally for food, shelter and resources?
Also, the level of gratuitous violence exhibited in this show for shock value and to fuck with the mind of the audience is just appalling and over the top. It is like Robert Kirkman’s idea of the apocalypse is that most people turn into psychopathic murderers who do the most unspeakable, heinous things to one another, with ease apparently, in the name of survival and I find that hard to believe.
For the record; I don’t object to violence in movies or anything. In fact, I welcome it. But what is being done in this show just repulses me because it is violence for violence’s’ sake and sociopathy is being celebrated as “totally cool”. Like Im supposed to think Negan is awesome and really hip. Yikes.
I know this show is based on a comic book and as such I shouldn’t expect more than your usual archetypal villain and such, but one of the reasons I have enjoyed TWD so much is that the world and characters it has imagined (or which Darabont imagined in his brilliance as a film maker) is more than just a mindless zombie flick.
I am really bothered by the fact that logic, reason and good character development and just compelling story telling has been abandoned in favor of ever more shocking, bloodier and incredibly more violent scenes. Sadly, this entire past season it has been nothing but absurd plots and character “developments” that really challenge even the most forgiving audience’s capacity for suspending disbelief.
I find it hard to feel sorry for Rick and his army of blind followers for finding themselves in this situation because it could have been easily avoided.
I think Glenn Mazzara was doing a better job as show runner. Gimple and his entire writing team need to be fired.
As the show is becoming more popular and gaining pop culture icon status, the creators and writers are moving away from compelling story line and story telling to one about shocking the audience and teasing them with deaths of fan favorite characters, such as Daryl (whom I still dont think is off the hook in terms of his demise). That is just lazy and incompetent writing. I almost wish this show hadnt gained such popularity so the writers and producers could concentrate more on writing quality script than celebrity and stardom and headlines. Knowing what’s in tow, makes me almost not want to tune in next season, which is ironic because they had this cliffhanger ending to presumably get people to tune in next season. But they didnt need to resort to cheap shots for that. I would have tuned in anyway but like this, Im actually kind of glad the show is on pause for the next 6 months. Gimple is at this point just trolling the audience.
you know. I agree. He is totally boring and has nothing to offer and is only being kept on the show because of his panty creamer status among the female audience.
To be honest, no matter who ends up getting Lucilled, it NEEDS to be a character that's very well liked. This scene is supposed to cause a lot of hatred and mixed emotions, and killing the wrong character could completely tarnish the scene. That's why I say Daryl. They NEED to nail down Negan's terrifying presence. Either Daryl or Glenn for me.
I agree with someone above that they should just kill Daryl off. I mean what is he good for? What does he do? What kind of character development has he had? At this point he is basically just being kept around because of his popularity. That's all. Daryl hasnt developed or grown as a character pretty much since when he was wandering the apocalypse with Beth. I saw a glimpse of that when those two were trying to find the group, but then she got snatched away and then killed and then they dropped the story line with him altogether. He is starting to become a superfluous character at this point.
And please someone shoot both Maggie and Glenn. They are the dumbest people in the ZA and deserve to be dead. Having a baby even under the best of circumstances is a challenge. These two fools decided to stick their heads in the sand and have a child - all in a world where they are on the run from either drooling freaks or psycho murderers who bash a man;s head in for shits and giggles.
You know... as dangerous as it may be to have a child in those conditions, it's either that or the shortest path for the extinction of the human race.
As Hershel once said : ''You walk outside, you risk your life. You take a drink of water, you risk your life. Nowadays you breath and you risk your life. You don’t have a choice. The only thing you can choose is what you’re risking it for.''
You can't blame them to try to ''live'' while they still can.

yeah i'd say taking a risk stepping outside your door is different than deliberate, stupid risk taking when you know that no matter what you do, you will endanger your life and that of your offspring. I would imagine that if one were so inclined to insure the continuance of the human race, one would do it when things have settled down a bit, not amidst the height of uncertainty and being attacked by all sided and cannibals and psycho murderers at your door step. Yeah life is a risk but to argue for recklessness because life is a risk is sophistry.
Glenn and Maggie live in a state of flux, they are in a horrible place. There is no stability. Alexandria isnt what it was when Rick marched in. The man ruined it when he went after the one and only surgeon whose wife he wanted to fuck. I mean protecting the community and Jessy from an abuser, my ass. Would Rick have sang the same tunes if Jessy was 50 and fat? No. So for glenn and Maggie to bring a child into this world is supremely irresponsible and stupid and for that both deserve the axe, so to speak.
You know... as dangerous as it may be to have a child in those conditions, it's either that or the shortest path for the extinction of the h… moreuman race.
As Hershel once said : ''You walk outside, you risk your life. You take a drink of water, you risk your life. Nowadays you breath and you risk your life. You don’t have a choice. The only thing you can choose is what you’re risking it for.''

Daryl (lack of character development and personality. Gets by on soley being badass. He has had his day)
Glenn (no mark character imo. Should have had died in the dumpster. The fact that a lot of people are pissed that he is still alive says it all)
Michone(basically the female Daryl. Zero personality, very little character development, gets by on being a badass)
I wish it was Sasha, a character that I never liked who's not even in the comics and I always thought had overstayed her welcome since Season 4-5, but it's obviously gonna be Abraham AND Glenn.
Michonne. I think it would be absolutely devastating to Rick, and if Negan cuts his hand off, it would be interesting to see how he bother a broken heart, and such a debilitating injury by the loss of a hand, would affect him mentally.
I said it at the end of Season 6 and I'm saying it again - I feel like it'll be Glenn and Abraham:
I think Negan will kill Glenn as a homage to the comics and to give Maggie more of her own character development - then I think Abraham will try to step in and get killed, out of all the characters I think he'd be the most likely to step up, this could also be a way to show that Negan isn't kidding around and that he can kill any one of the main characters, plus Abraham survived farther than in the comics, other than making Negan look more evil and powerful, I think it might add more character development for Sasha, especially since she would've lost the 3rd and technically last person who was close to her.
I want Daryl to be Lucilled and Glenn to be stabbed trying to save Rick from the unavoidable hand chopping he's gonna get as shown in the new trailer, that way we can get an actual plot twist, Rick loses his hand like in the comics, Glenn still reaches the end of his character arc, Abe can survive until All Out War like Kirkman wanted and Maggie can still get her char. development boost and become leader of Hilltop.
What's going to happen is a bunch of bullshit and Gimple's going to piss everyone and their dog off while still keeping AMC's biggest money maker (Daryl) alive. And then Daryl's going to take Carl's development with Negan and I'll hate him 3,000,00x more than I already do. So basically Glenn will get lucilled, Abe will get stabbed (completely negating the point of giving his original death to Denise), Rick will still lose his hand and Daryl will be a fucking piece of shit.
Comments
just for the record, my first lucille death pick was Abraham.
i want it to be Abraham.
but it's most likely Glenn.
Watch it be Eugene for the simple fact that he "took it like a champ" is something he isn't known for doing
Until that moment
I think it was Abraham. The way Negan said “look, he’s taking it like a champ” is a dead give-away. Hopefully Maggie. She has become an extremely annoying character.

Season 7 is getting closer guys, from what we've gathered for the past months, finally who is it going to be?
Daryl (lack of character development and personality. Gets by on soley being badass. He has had his day)
Glenn (no mark character imo. Should have had died in the dumpster. The fact that a lot of people are pissed that he is still alive says it all)

I think abraham too. Or the tech guy
I got Abraham, but when they killed Glenn, ...
