  • That's fine, but i've seen SO many confused people on the steam community forum that keep asking if this is season 3. So keeping it could make stuff more clear.

That's probably Telltale still pushing for newer costumers.

  • It's not really a continuation from s2 though, its Javiers story mainly. I would still call it season 3 but I see why telltale would remove it just to not do slight false advertising

    Its still a season 3.

I just noticed, one of the concept arts shows a city in Texas. It would appear Clem goes very south if she is alone, possibly heading to Texas. Who else said they wanted to go to Texas? Mike.

    Mike Confirmed for season 3.

Edit: I also guessed that Javier is really from Texas, what if Mike does appear in season 3, but only during a flashback in Javier's story. It be a good way for Mike and Arvo to appear without Clem magically finding them again.

  • Either way you will probably end up with kenny, him being dead or alive, to show what happened to him. I hate how all the original characters are nearly gone especially not me kenny :-(

Exactly. It's too bad that I stayed at Wellington and now he probably won't return for me though

  • It's still is kind of a continuation from s2 as we will get clementine being playable and flashbacks and such. Its just that this season itself will be more focused on Javier. But not calling it season 3 just just because its not being focused on Clementine mainly is kind of dumb.

  • I think there's some kind of internal conflict over whether or not 'season 3' should be in the name

Like, the art and direction teams have camped up in a corner of the room, made a fort out of the desks, and are facing off against everyone else, having a nerf gun war to determine the name

    ReTaLiN posted: »

They removed the "(season 3)" from the game's title on steam. It was "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier (season 3)" and now its just "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier"

  • I think they should still keep the season 3 in the name.
People already get super confused not knowing if its season 3 or not and removing that just makes stuff harder.

  • The name will be determined when General Lieutenant Tim from the art team finally defeats his arduous and enduring enemies, Sergeant Eric from choreography, and 2nd Lieutenant Mark from cinematics (1st Lieutenant KIA), leading a valiant charge from the west corner of the room against Tim and the rest of the art team's unorthodox but effective defensive line, situated in the eastern flank

  • Better question is why would it be a "Season 3"?

The characters from S2 are dead, Clementine will share her spotlight now... and the story, I'm guessing, is about... cults? Other rival camps? Corruption? Slavery?

It's not about a little girl that still needs to learn how to reload a gun that's for sure...

  • Javier from El Paso

  • Well there we go.

    Mike confirmed.

    Javier from El Paso

  • It seems like everyone is saying Clem goes to Texas. Considering that Job has said the game's current location is in Virginia near the comics, that would be very weird. I can only think of a few option:

    1. Javier is from or near Texas at the start of the apocalypse. He and whomever left of his family escape and find refuge at this "chulburg" place. Things probably aren't so happy here as with anywhere in TWD's universe. Maybe this will be a comparison and contrast with Clem's experience with Carver and the Howe's group. This could even be a comparing and contrasting point with Clem's experience with the Season 1 group. Remember: "Some people looked after me too." "What happened to them?" "Same thing that happens to everyone." Anyways, Javier is not there anymore whether it be temporary or permanent. He's away from his stomping grounds for some reason (like how Clem is away from here home area in Georgia). They meet in VA by some means, and he tells his story for whatever reason.
    2. Somehow between the end of Season 2 and when they meet in Virginia, they met in Texas (it's about a 9 day hike from south VA to OH provided Season 2 was in south VA and Wellington is in OH). She, AJ, and maybe someone else briefly encounters Javier at or near this "chulburg" place in TX. The encounter doesn't not go and/or end well. Many months later, Javier finds himself in a situation in VA. That's when he encounters "that girl" a.k.a Clementine, and he knows this can end badly due to before. The teamwork and collaboration depends on how your first interaction went.
    3. Job lied and Season 3 is actually in Texas. ...highly unlikely
    4. A sign from Texas somehow made it to Virginia. ...highly unlikely, but not as bad as #3
    5. The concept art it an illusion and decoy. ...very highly unlikely

TL:DR - I think the Texas location is where Javier's story starts as he makes his way north. ...And I'm just as perplexed as everyone else.

The picture with the Schulenburg sign has some crossed out letters. Must be a new settlement people tried to create, called Chulburg.
Wondering what kind of role this place will have in the game, as Schulenburg is in Texas ( The fuck kind of plan is that? ), and this game takes place in Virginia.

  • I am a bit worried about my choices not carrying over from my old save file. I feel it will be safer and easy if I do a save creation in order to make sure I really got all my choices carried over.

Did anyone notice that in Airport concept art!
    Same Zombie
So probably this Walker that Javier and Clem killed in E3 Trailer was from this community!

  • Gonna be honest here, I think it's just a reused model. They use that walker for everything.

  • Literally. In the screenshot with Clem and Javier surrounded by walkers it's all the exact same model. Even the dead body in the original reveal trailer was the same model.

Depends, which games are you looking for?

  • I can fucking see it now.

It's December 20th. The day of arrival is upon us. Years of speculation, wonder, and hope for Season 3's arrival have all come down to this. The forum discussions...debates...memes...jokes...interactions with others all had a purpose. They all lead to this single moment.

Sloaning is depicted in his room on his console, excitedly awaiting A New Frontier's download. He's nearly shaking with excitement. %60...61%, oh dear fucking god would it just hurry up! Some more time passes before the status eventually reaches %100. Finally. He gives off a relieved and hearty laugh as he clicks on it.

THE WALKING DEAD: A NEW FRONTIER
    PRESS START

Waves of happiness and euphoria splash through Sloaning's veins as he gets a look at the menu. "Whoaa...this is the shit, man!"

He selects the first episode and he's off. He looks to the right at his nightstand while it loads, catching a glimpse of his Melissa Hutchison autograph. He cracks a small grin.

In game, he gets through the obligatory Javier intro. His loved one turns, bites ma-ma in the face, and so on, yes yes we know. Now for the actual game.

"Fuck yes! I can see the-"

From out of nowhere, a random meteorite blasts through his ceiling and instantly kills him. He lays on the ground...lifeless, as Javier dies from a failed Quick Time Event in the background.

  • In the word of Negan.

  • They updated TWD S2 on steam. It adds a button to upload your save files to Telltale's cloud, from the looks of it. Preparation for S3.

  • Come on now, don't be selfish. I'm really happy about the fact that we are getting a Season 3 for The Walking Dead. I also think that 120 hours are pretty enough for a game.

  • They just changed the title of Episode 2. It's not like they cut a whole episode out. If they had not planned this from the start and if this was truly only a recent development as you think, then that would mean New Frontier was originally only a four episode series.
