Could Clementine possibly be working for the bad guys?
The trailer shows moments where I think this could be possible.
- She doesn't have A.J, maybe a community offered her safety in exchange for her working for them.
- She has a shotgun four years into the apocalypse
- Javier's hands are bonded together like he's been taken prisoner
- Javier is alone
- Clementine walks behind Javier at the end of the trailer with her gun in her hands as if she's making sure he won't try anything.

That would be a beast plot and would make sense. Javier seems not to trust Clem in the first trailer, seeing that he has the ammo. Clem being the "bad guy" would make the revenge plot make sense. Clem would probably what to devise some kind of plan to kill off the guy in charge with Javier but gets caught and they have to flee .
It could be possible, the teaser seems to show that Javier is captured by Clem, also Telltale has been super shady about Clem and what her role is other than "she's in it."
Maybe she is deep undercover, but she better not be working with bandits or monsters. She was raised better than that.
Well good and evil is a bit subjective..perhaps this is a misunderstanding and they will all laugh about this later. Or perhaps he stole something from her community. Or maybe she has gone bad...it happens.
Javier: "Haha, remember that time when you pressed that hot iron on my neck? Good times."
Clementine: "Yeah, and that time when you brutally murdered AJ? Damn, that was a good one."
Leader of baddies: "I sure am glad that we could sort these little misunderstandings out."
everyone laughs diabolically as Clementine passes Javier the plate with the human steak
Not gonna lie, that would be fucking awesome.
I don't think she'd be working for "the bad guys" but maybe someone who is a threat to Javier. It would be really interesting if that's what Telltale gave us as the plot, but then I beg the question, why do they need each other?
Whether it turns out to be true or not, we don't know. But I like that conflict you threw in there, my friend.
That's immediately what I thought was happening. She seems way too well equipped.
It would be a little boring, though. Feels like she'd just be Bonnie 2.0 from when they were at Carver's camp.
I thought so too, especially after seeing Javier in restraints in the preview. But I really dislike it and hope it's more complicated than that. Here's why:
I know all of this can be explained with: "Between Season 2 and Season 3 stuff might have happened to cause a change in personality and intentions, and we'll see why in flashbacks." But this still remains as one of the biggest reasons why I'm sceptical about this game - namely the use of flashbacks to facilitate and explain any drastic changes in Clementine.
I'm hoping it's just a misunderstanding on the part of Clementine. I think she, like Javier, will be after those in charge of the Capricorn farms. Clementine will mistake Javier for being a part of their group and take him hostage with the hopes of trading him for AJ or something. Once she realises she made a mistake, she'll release him and then properly go to find the main group (as seen in the first teaser).
But iunno.
Tweet: How far would you go to save your family (It said something like that)
AJ is taken from Clem and Clem is forced to do there dirty job. Clem said no to help them and they took her finger and the next one more no will kill AJ. So she does the job. The job is to, I don't know, get Javier for them. In the meantime Javier is trying to find/save his family members.
Or... what if, Clementine choose to keep AJ there. Even though they might be bad people, she believes that this community is the best bet for AJ. If they have walls and food, that's all AJ needs. Hence the "When family is all you have left…how far will you go to protect it?"
Nope, anyone on Clementine's sh** list is the bad guy in my eyes
It sounds cool but it's kinda out of character for my Clementine.
What if its the other way around? What if Javi is working for Capricorn Farms. He does say he did what he had to to protect his family. So perhaps he has been a "Road Agent" of sorts for the Capricorn people in order to keep his family safe.
She probably just dosn't trust Javier. Maybe they don't meet on the best of terms. Clem is well armed and Javier isn't, so Javier gets to play prisoner this time.
I love the idea.
I feel like it could work for some of you guys saying Clementine would never stoop so low.
That sounds funny. Clementine the once weak and naïve little girl holding a full grown adult hostage.
She wants to live. If she is working for the same group that cuts off her finger, they definitely instill some fear into her. She's bound to anything for them, especially if they have A.J.
That's sooo dark. That would explain why Clem doesn't appear to have a soul.
Love the idea, I don't know though, they may go another direction with the game.
Considering her role models include an almost excon, a temperamental redneck, a critical preggo, and a delusional darwinist, I somehow doubt that.
Protagonist Centered Morality, eh? Sounds about right.
Her parents were good people who raised her in a nice area, and 3/4 of the people you listed are pretty great people.
Eh...true enough, I guess.
Wut?
Lee and Jane.
Looks like we were partially right guys.
All but the temperamental redneck.
I'm just kidding!
How so?
She's pointing the gun at him, which doesn't necessarily mean she's working for the bad guys but certainly shows she's not on Javier's side in the beginning.
Perhaps Xavier is a bad guy...
He's Javier's evil twin!
I can't be asked to remember if the vaguely hispanic pretty boy's name is spelled with an X or J.
I'd like the choice to keep working with them or not tbh. I really like the idea of Clementine working with a community that's considered to be the bad guys, yet we know her. We know she's not bad, for the most part. So it really shows that grey area between good and bad.
Why not? It's not that hard and names beginning with X aren't that much more common in Latin languages.
That's just custom gesture, yeah? ;D
Point and question, not being pointed at and questioned. Else you die in the world of WD
Because Javier so far looks and has a back story as bland as his design. And it's hard to memorize a characters' name when all I know about him is that there'll be a part in the game in which he is taken hostage by a child.
But there is no conflict of information, not source has named him Xavier, ever.
Anyway, let's not make more of a issue of it, I was just curious.
It's good.
I still sometimes confuse Kenny for fuckwad or Jane for dumbshit.
Javier is lucky I only call him Xavier every now and again...
