Are the Saviors and Negan the main threat in S3?

This would actually be crazy because Clementine and her new group are in Maryland near Virginia where Negan's Saviors are right now in the comics and TV show. I was on Twitter and noticed Telltale tweeted The Walking Dead S3 three times with a barbed wired bat emoji, this will be horrible if the Saviors are holding Javier's and possibly Clementine's family captive, unless its another group that works for Negan.

It would be thrilling to see the comic book series cross over to the game since they said a long time ago on Twitter, like Game of Thrones for example, they included some huge characters from the show (and Ramsay Snow). The only characters that were in the Walking Dead game were Glenn, Hershel Greene from S1, and Michonne from the Mini Series.

It'd make sense if a huge group is making Javier and Clem risk alot to get to their families, and Negan is the biggest antagonist, unless there will be another leader that works for the Saviors or is IN the Saviors.

  • I doubt that. I think the comic characters in the game will have less development and screen time.

  • I would be extremely upset if that was the case, as there would really be no tension since we know that Clementine and everyone else can't really do anything to Negan due to the Comic Books Canon

  • I would absolutely hate that. Having an antagonist with plot armor would do wonders to ruin the entire season (cough game of thrones cough)

  • I wasn't happy when I found out that there would be cameos for comic book characters in this game. I always prefer original characters in telltales games

  • Nah they said around what the comic is at and they beat the saviors already

  • Could be Whisperers? A different tribe of them...or something akin to the Wolves

  • The Lucille emoji seems to appear automatically when you use #TheWalkingDead so maybe they weren't planning for that..... still, I hope I'm wrong, would love to see Negan in the game, and I haven't even seen him in the Comics yet (started reading recently)

  • S3 happens around the actual story arc in the comics, that means Negan and the Saviors are no longer a menace. He's either imprisoned, or he's an ally to Rick as of now.

They did not tweet the emoji—it comes with the hashtag.

Negan is physically constricted in this period of time, and the Saviors have settled down.

The true antagonists are the goat farmers.

  • Correct. The game won't take place until after the Saviors have already been defeated and Negan is in a cell. So no Negan will not be in season 3.

  • So wait...why didn't they kill Negan?

  • Rick wanted to show that he was better than Negan. OOU Kirkman just liked writing for Negan so wanted to keep him around a while longer. Now he basically is just a character their to dish out one liners.

  • Also there was a group that are worse than the Saviors, The Whisperers, they wear walker skins like costumes.

Well, actually you are correct about that, I was thinking if there were Saviors that were expanding from Virginia to Maryland, maybe even further and they didn't know Negan was defeated? Also the Michonne series is taking place during that point of the comics I think. Dunno if Michonne will just see Clem and co. during her travelling back to Rick.

  • Michonne series happened sometime between the 3 year timeskip, I think Clementine might join one of the groups around the last few episodes, like maybe they find Jesus around episode 3 and you get to the hilltop in the end of episode 4. I don't think will use saviors but maybe whisperers, we might even meet people back in woodbury!

  • I really hope not

  • Maybe something that resembles the Savior, but I really hope the comic Negan and Savior doesn't appear.

  • That's not necessary true. If Clem is barely 13 in season 3, like barely, and Carl is about 11 and a half in all out war, Maybe season 3 takes place just at the very end of all out war. That being said. Maybe there's suppose to be a reinforcement community that we didn't know about that the saviors kept secret who didn't get the memo that the war is over and tries to claim Clem's group in Negan's name but are quickly killed off. This wouldn't be too far of a stretch seeing that Oceanside was a secret until Negan was defeated.

  • don't think Negans more of a hot iron guy not a brand guy

No Kirkman has stated that TellTale season 2 took place around the same time as All Out War. All Out War took place a couple years into the apocalypse and Clem went to Wellington when she was 11 (right around two years after the apocalypse began).

Season 3 is going to take place much closer to where the comics currently are in the timeline.

That's not necessary true. If Clem is barely 13 in season 3, like barely, and Carl is about 11 and a half in all out war, Maybe season 3 tak

  • That wouldn't make sense if clem is 13

  • Yes it would. The apocalypse has been going on in the comics for about five years now. Clem was eight and close to turning nine when the apocalypse started so if she is 13 now that means it is pretty close to where they currently are in the comics.

Yeah if Negan had so many people, he probably marked more than a few outposts or more settlements who provide the Saviors with supplies.

That's not necessary true. If Clem is barely 13 in season 3, like barely, and Carl is about 11 and a half in all out war, Maybe season 3 tak

  • It might not happen, but take Game of Thrones for example, we didn't expect Ramsay Snow arrive to house Forrester in episode 1, killing Ethan ( no matter what you choose). We don't know, I believe there will be a villain in S3 who supports Negan or is one of his loyal men.

Maybe something that resembles the Savior, but I really hope the comic Negan and Savior doesn't appear.

  • Or maybe Lilly happens to be around (hope to god she isn't with Negan's boys taking whatever they want), but it would actually be badass to see Paul Rovia (Aka Jesus), or any other characters in Ricks group.

Michonne series happened sometime between the 3 year timeskip, I think Clementine might join one of the groups around the last few episodes,

  • With the ratings drop off of the show once the Negan story started I hope they don't follow Negan.

  • True.

That's not necessary true. If Clem is barely 13 in season 3, like barely, and Carl is about 11 and a half in all out war, Maybe season 3 tak

  • Maybe it'll be a guy who has Negan's personality?

  • After this last episode I honestly don't know how the ratings could drop.

  • Honestly, I doubt we will even see the Saviors

  • I've heard that Negan is a prisoner in the comics during the time line of New Frontier. I am certain that we will see the Whisperers. I hope that we will see an antagonist that is similar to Negan, yet I hope that we don't see him in this game. There's no suspense of how will we kill the antagonist when he's untouchable. I don't want a by the books boring antagonist like Carver, I just want to gain perspective of a antagonist and then make up my mind. It would be great if there was a grey area antagonist as it is a zombie apocalypse. Someone said that it would be cool if we could join the team that Michonne is with. That would be cool for me as I chose the path of Forgiveness (Leave the burning house) yet there are some that chose the path of Destruction (stayed inside the burning house) in the TT series. I'd love to fight alongside her though as Clem or Javier.

  • Worse than the saviors? Well.. talk about a crazy leader with a barbed wire bat bashing out skulls in his daily life and torturing people and manipulating them..

Also there was a group that are worse than the Saviors, The Whisperers, they wear walker skins like costumes.

  • I'll simply say watch the launch trailer, The bad guys call themselves The New Frontier. Because Clemintine said so.

  • Everyone shoulda known Negan was going to kill Spencer like in the comics, Rosita attempt at shooting Negan, and Olivia dying too, And Eugene being takened to make bullets, all that happened so fast.

  • Negan would probably share a few bits of "wisdom" to Clem in his cell. Its like Carver telling her about being the "next generation." And wanted her to watch Kenny beat his face in with the crowbar.

  • Its strange that Clem lost her ring finger in the first trailer, and maybe thats because of the New Frontier cutting her finger off.

  • It makes me glad I don't follow the comics. I think that actually hurts the series a little when people know what is going to happen.
