Kenny's ***** was not in vain

He was just teaching AJ why wearing a seat-belt is important.

...Or the undead find you and rip your crippled body to shreds.

  • Well the writers finally did something right, in terms of logic. Kenny finally dies due to his own idiocy, which should've happened several times over by now.

Kenny's death actually does though, since he's so fucking stupid in the first place. "Hey, let me teach a pre-teen how to drive and not put on my own fucking seatbelt." Fucking idiot.

Just like his other stellar plans like, "Hey! In order to escape this truck let me punch this guy with a gun and take it and shoot his other armed comrades! There's no chance that either I or the rest of my group will get killed, even accidentally!"

Or "Hey! Let's go out into the herd and just improvise our way out of Howe's, meaning I have no plan on what to do when we actually meet those walkers. That'll work!"

Or "Hey! Let me provoke this Carver guy by cussing him out to his face. I'm sure I'll be fiiiiiine."

Or "Hey! Let's go out into the winter wilderness with a crying baby in subzero temperatures and a child and try to find a place that I'm not even sure exists, and I'm not even sure what state it's in, but I'm sure it's somewhere, even if it'll probably take me weeks to find it!"

    Please.

If you're referring to the scene just before Carver starts beating him with the radio, I interpreted that as Kenny realizing that Carver was going to beat him anyways, so he tried to have the last laugh, so to speak. If you're gonna get the shit beat out of you anyways, you might as well tell the guy to go fuck himself.

In a different story outside The Walking Dead, a character such as Kenny would have be killed off a long time ago and not many would have shed many tears for him.

One of the few reasons why he lived for this long, which I suspect and as harsh as it sounds, is because of fan-service.

Jane never would've gotten pregnant in the first place. Her death makes zero sense; even the Kenny fans say so.

I found it ludicrous myself that Jane would have gotten pregnant from one random individual by pure chance, I would have imagined that it would take more than one act of sex for Jane to be impregnated.

And even if she was pregnant, I just can't buy Jane committing suicide on the spot after the realization that she's carry a baby either.

Kenny's death made more sense in comparison, since it made sense for someone like Kenny to completely disregard everybody's safety if it means reaching a destination sooner, as he did from No Going Back.

  • Both deaths are nonsense. Kenny didn't wear seatbelt because he had to die, and this was what TT went with, it has nothing to do with him being stupid (and I'm not saying he wasn't reckless as a character). He could've died falling off a stairs or from the cold, all would be just as sudden and inexplicable as anything at this point. He had to go and everything felt rushed. It's really the exact same with Jane's death.

To be fair, that actually tends to happen more often than it should in real life, too

There are a lot of stupid motherfuckers out there that have done some really stupid shit, but miraculously didn't get themselves killed in the process

Jane started a fight. Jane left clem because she got pregnant and wasn't tough enough to brave it out like she kept putting on. She left clem to fend for herself with a screaming toddler when she could have raised Luke's bad ass baby if she wasn't such a baby herself. She got herself pregnant knowing the risks she still did. Kenny died once again to save clem while Jane died for herself, leaving clem alone and to see her give up like that. What a great moral to show to a 13 year old. When the going gets tough, kill yourself. Kenny death was just as unrealistic as Jane's if you think of hers as out of character. Her being selfish is a cannon trait. By the way all your "Kenny is an idiot" examples are really poor as they where either the result of Jane's fault or him just being protective and risking his life for characters like clem. I would say the true definition of stupidity would be having unpretected sex knowing you would get pregnant because of it, doing it at the worst time possible with a woman giving birth nearby and the group needing all the help they can get, and when you do you give up, it was all on her. Kenny lived longer than any other main character besides clem and he would have kept living on as shown if telltale didn't obviously purposely kill him.

If Kenny was an idiot, then Jane was a selfish bitch, to leave a 12 year old by herself. It was always "me, me ,me" with her. Good fucking riddance to her.

  • While I'm comparing Kenny and Jane, let's just look at their priorities when walkers are around.

Jane had a baby in her hands and the walkers were approaching towards her direction in a blinding blizzard that was constantly dropping temperature.

I don't think it would have be logical for her to risk both her life and the baby's to rescue Clementine with walkers coming after them.

  • Exactly. That's why I was glad I went with Kenny. He died protecting Clementine and AJ, he stuck it out to the end. What did Jane do? Take the easy route because she couldn't handle the problem that SHE started. Nobody told her to have sex with Luke.

There was no time for her to do so, since two walkers were after her literally four seconds after she got out of the car and was facing Clementine's direction with the baby in her hands. Four seconds would be up as soon as Jane would even think to help Clementine.

And if she dropped the baby on the ground in a blizzard, chances are the snow would buffet the baby and would probably drop his temperature even lower, and probably kill him.

Look at 1:20:07 on this video. Jane had no time to rescue Clementine before the two walkers could get to them all first.

Ironic cos what she does a few minutes later suggests otherwise.

As stupid as her plan was with the baby, she wouldn't have put the plan in motion had Kenny not driven them into the situation they were heading towards to in the first place, which was in the middle of a harsh blizzard with little supplies, and with no clear direction nor proof of Wellington's existence.

  • This right here is a great example of contrargument. This is how you discuss, people.

    Well written, sir/madam.

  • Sorry, but I have to disagree. Although this is a valid argument, Jane later shows that she has little respect for AJ's life, so I really doubt AJ's body temperature was on Jane's mind in that adrenaline fuelled situation.

If that was the case, why was the baby still alive when he was at the mercy of Jane once she was alone? All she had to do was to toss the baby to the walkers or in a pile of snow and carry on her ridiculous act that AJ was dead due to no fault of her own.

Instead, Jane places the baby in an abandoned car and made sure that he was shielded from the blizzard. That act alone implies more that Jane had no intentions to have the baby die while she formulated her plan.

  • Jane places the baby in an abandoned car and made sure that he was shielded from the blizzard. That act alone implies more that Jane had no intentions to have the baby die while she formulated her plan.

AJ was just a prop in her performance. The blizzard was too thick and fuzzy to be sure about walkers not approaching the cars, especially after shooting guns, breaking cars and screaming all over the place. All the cars seemed to be wrecked, rusted or broken. If one of the walkers managed to smash the windshield, baby would've been dead instantly. We've seen walker trying to get in after Kenny vs. Jane fight. I believe walkers are more sensitive to smell, and newborn babies happen to have very strong, characteristic aroma.

What if Jane had died and no one found out about AJ hidden in the car?

Did she even think of that? She left him in very thoughtless and irresponsible way. I'm not saying she didn't have her reasons, but her plan was too shaky.

If I was Clementine I would never trust her with the baby after that.

  • All I can think of is that Jane was too preoccupied with the fight that Kenny started, and the fact that Kenny was about to kill her for something she technically didn't do likely made her too panicked and angry to think straight and confess to them about her plan.

Either that, or Jane honestly believed that from what she's seen with Kenny's recent behavior and interaction with their team before they broke off, Kenny was too far gone with listening to reason and would have blocked out what Jane could have confessed to them about the baby being alive.

As for the aftermath with Jane surviving and not bringing up the baby right away, Jane was likely recovering from the shock of almost being killed, and she was likely not thinking clearly at the time.

The only instance that I would believe that Jane didn't care about the baby whatsoever if she had continued to deceive Clementine after the fight when there is no reason to do so, but that would not be possible due to AJ having cried right after Kenny's death.

And finally, I still don't believe that Jane wanted Kenny dead all along either. Why would she sheathe her weapon away and leave herself defenceless in front of Kenny, who is intent on trying to kill her? She even tries to tell him to 'just go' when she draws her weapon again once the two starts fighting for real, and Kenny refuses the offer, showing no interest on stopping the fight.

...And that's all I'll say on this debate, as we're getting slight off-topic here.

  • I laughed way too hard at this xD

  • I never thought the problem was her getting pregnant. She had sex. Pregnancy is what happens most of the time with sex. The problem with Jane's death was that, after spouting all this bullshit about how Clem had to do what it takes to survive, how surviving meant she couldn't be with friends and all that. Then she fucking hangs herself. Jane seems like the type to "accidentally" fall down the stairs before she up and kills herself.

  • Oh dear, this made me realize that Kenny reanimated after walkers got him. Well, I guess that left a place for his cameo in next episodes.

  • AJ still doesn't have anyone cast as his VA, so he doesn't talk as a more developed toddler for some stupid reason.

Clem hasn't remembered anyone's teachings... other then sweeping the leg like she's part of the Cobra's.

And people still smoke OG kush, never mind how they grow it in the first place.

It's quite "funny" that Jane spent most of episode 4 preaching about Rebecca's pregnancy. Yet in the same episode, she offers Luke to have unprotected sex. She made that selfish choice during the worst time possible. Then she got pregnant (a strong possibility that she knew could've happened from the get-go) and killed herself because of it. Without even giving a full explanation, without even saying goodbye, without even giving Clem and AJ any kind of help/supplies/etc to make it on their own. She was a complete idiot.

  • The thing is, how could Kenny shoot from his chair to the road if the car crashed into a tree on the left side of the road?

Where is the realism in that????

  • You talk as if Jane doesn't make multiple stupid mistakes throughout the entirety of her character arc. In fact, she's probably as stupid, if not more than Kenny is. Lol, you also realize how biased this post makes you look right?
