I don't think he will purely on the platform that if he did it would further expose the fact that everyone in the game except Clementine wil… morel die. I'm not holding my breath though.
If by some miracle he does survive the season, it presents an interesting issue for Season 4. Namely, on who gets to be the protagonist in that game. We haven't had one protagonist across multiple games, so it's like... What happens?
Do we stick with Javier? Do we get a new character who's story we explore? Do we jump back to an older Clementine? Do we play as Gabe assuming he survived the season?
Think of this molly from season 1 never died.,bonnie mick and the Russian are still out the.but why do ypu think tale gave as the option to stay with kenny or at the wall.let's say if you saty with kenny he dies in a car crash but if you stayed at the wall clem, may run into him like she's did in season 2 or or the other characters I said, I don't think you fined Jane she probably killed her self if you went alone.
I kind of feel like it could happen like this. Javier sacrifices himself for Gabe who takes up his mantle. Clementine I hope survives until Season 4 and hopefully she becomes playable or is one of the options to play as.
And I suppose there might become a romantic pairing with Gabe and Clementine which would really rile up a lot of fans so not sure about that.
I had once thought about that. Still think it might be a good idea if we could vote for the next protagonist between Clementine and Javier for season 4. The majority wins and would be interesting to see if there were more Clem or Javi fans all along. And an actual big choice that matters from telltale games. At least then maybe the majority won't be upset at who is the next player character.

That would make their respective character arcs kind of redundant so nah...

Everyone's gonna die. I like in the comics we get to know characters for a long time, but in this game almost everyone dies so quick.
