All this negativity on Twitter..
This is a little ranty, and not well constructed from a writing perspective, my apologies for this, I am new to this form of posting. Hey, y'all. First time I'm posting, and not responding - So, I was just wondering what's with all the negativity on Twitter, all of this "#Telltaleisoverparty" nonsense? I understand people might dislike A New Frontier, that's fine, people have opinions, but I just don't get why everyone's all of a sudden gone from loving it, to despising it.. Is there something I'm missing out on here? Personally, I think TWD: A New Frontier is fine, the only gripe I have with the game is the length of the episodes being shortened. Javier is a likable character, I enjoyed playing as him. Obviously he's not on the protagonist-tier of Lee, but he was fine.. The other characters were decent too, not as good as Season 1 characters, but for video game standards, pretty fine. I will admit I'm abit bummed out Javier hasn't gotten a good friend yet, like Lee and Kenny's relationship, but I suppose that might be due to the length of the episodes. - I've seen alot of complaining about the flashback scenes, sure, it sucked seeing one of my favourite video game characters, Kenny, being killed off in a flashback, but come on, we all knew it was going to happen, and at least he goes down with dignity. Jane's death, IMO stayed true to her character too, even though I didn't like her much. The alone one was fine.** I also know about the reusing of files and models etc.. So what? It helped them get the game out abit quicker, and loads of game developers do it, if they've got something that's fine, why change it? Just use it! It's not like the majority of people noticed when playing anyway..** Anyway, just wanting to know what's going on, and why some of you are trying to give Telltale a hard time.

Like I said, new to this form of posting, I messed up at the end with the bold.. Sorry, here, let me do it right. I also know about the reusing of files and models etc.. So what? It helped them get the game out abit quicker, and loads of game developers do it, if they've got something that's fine, why change it? Just use it! It's not like the majority of people noticed when playing anyway..
Another thing, the episodes being shorter isn't a game breaker.
I'm with you on this. It's an amazing game and I'm loving it so far. It may seem like everyone's on the hate train but don't be fooled there are still plenty of people that enjoy the game. Not every Telltale fan is a member on the forums or has a twitter.
Thank you, it is nice to see people agreeing with me.
It's got great fan reviews as well. Anyway, I'm not going to defend aspects of the game that are bullshit, and people shouldn't keep saying "fuck you Telltale" for it. That type of talk gets you nothing. The episode length is bullshit, Clem being a side character is bullshit, Telltale trying to appeal way too much to new players is bullshit, and on and on. People need to be constructive in their criticisms, otherwise, nothing will change.
The hate is pretty widespread at the moment. There's quite a few people raging or disappointed in the game so far, for a variety of reasons. You've got a few people crying they're the vocal minority to discredit the hate, kinda like people said the Mass Effect 3 ending haters were a vocal minority. Until Bioware released a free, very large dlc to expand on the endings, because I guess the "vocal minority" is larger than people want to think in a lot of cases.
It's honestly getting ridiculous.
Some of those people are acting like children, and it's getting on my every last nerve.
Sorry if this is rude. I've just been arguing with them all night, and am exhausted =P
No problem.
While I am waiting for ep3 to start redeeming this season, many people who have played S1 feel like they are getting the Troy treatment from this one. It is more than understandable.
1.Too short episodes
2.Choices from S02 were a big slap in the face in S03
3.Changed Clem from the main seat
4.Killing characters, who have great potential for future development, just for shock value or just shitty writing in general.
5.Really generic story so far and the only reason we see TNF as the bad guys is because they shot your niece (forced death, yet again by TTG)
When you take everything into account, people have a good solid reason to not like the game so far. I personally liked it with some exceptions (the meaningless deaths more than other things) but people pay because they expected the same product like S01 and S02 which did not happen, so unless people speak loudly it's highly unlikely that TTG will change anything this season and it seems they actually plan to change stuff, so let's wait and see.
But I only endorse constructive feedback and not stuff like: "TTG SUUUUUUUCKS..." etc. etc. etc.
I played through the first season as soon as I had finished it, just to see what different choice would make. I did the same with season 2. If you could ask my real life friends then they would tell you how often I've replayed the games on my mobile devices. Hell I played the episodes as they were released over and over too.
Yet with season 3, I've played through the episodes once. Once despite owning on PC and Android.
It's not as if I hate season 3, I honestly can't say I even dislike it, but I don't want to play the episodes again. There is something missing from season 3 that I can't put my finger on, that I can't put into words.
To put it into context. I've restarted playing Season 1 on my S7 rather than starting season 3 on it.
So now you kind of know what a lot of the player base felt after their initial 2-part launch.
If that isn't the best visual representation of the premiere, I don't know what is.
No, it pretty much is. There is only so much you can do with an hours playtime, it's similar to those DC Animated movies that always show potential with their voice acting, animation etc. but are simply too short to deliver a satisfying story.
I shouldn't laugh at that gif, but I can't help it
That rocket literally jumps like 2 feet high then explodes
This season quality and quantity is dubbed down than the last two seasons and it costs more money...
People have every right to complain at this point.
I agree. I don't hate TT, I don't WANT them to fail. I wanted this and still want this to be awesome. But I got this at E3 and for a few months after
Then in December I got 2 episodes and 2 hours of this
Except put Clem about 30 feet behind Javier.
I wish Javier would jump two feet high then explode.
Are you sure you wouldn't want it to be someone else
perhaps someone whose name rhymes with Schmenny
Lenny?
Are you sick? His death was already so heartbreaking... I'd never want him to explode.
Yes it is!
This game's main core is a story, not gameplay (Well choices do suck they have to improve that) or graphics, it's a story and that defiantly breaks their "game". If you have shorter episodes than the pacing gonna suck and then the game's story is going to suffer because of it.
Are you really telling us you prefer a 1 hour rushed episode than a 2 hour paced one?
I dont think anyone here wants Telltale to fail, there has just been alot of questionable decisions, such as mostly ignoring what made the series good in the first place (slow paced, character driven story, which made the action sequences that much better), and instead creating an actionfilled Michael Bay esque game, and not having much of a clue what alot of the fans actually want, instead trying to get new fans in a very niche genre, instead of catering to their already quite big fanbase.
#TelltaleIsOver
Because what they're doing is making their games lose quality.
If you boys like 45-60 min episodes, a lack of hubs compared to season 1, lack of gameplay compared to season 1, lack of character interaction/development compared to season 1, no puzzles or optional side quests that season 1 had and if you like 90% of the episodes just sitting and watching and choosing dialogue choices (which will most likely matter for shit or be forgotten about in later episodes) and a game that costs the same as season 1 with MUCH less quality...then good for you. More power to you. But most of us original TWD fans have had enough of Telltale's shit.
Disappointment is understandable. What isn't, is going after my friends just because they don't agree with the "Fuck Telltale" shit that's been going on.
I agree with some of their points, but they're acting immaturely.
Yeah, I've always thought the hate was overboard. The whole flashback deal just set off a firestorm.
Do you often try to belittle people's opinions like that?
Fuck Telltale. The ranting on Facebook is anything but negative.
Oh hush, it's only an hour difference.
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but an hour's difference is actually a BIG difference if the game is already quite short.

If the episodes were shorter but were of consistently INCREDIBLE quality, then maybe we could forgive them being 1/3 of the length of season 1's episodes.
They aren't. And we pay the exact same price. That's nonsense.
I did say "good for you, more power to you". Don't let what i say stop you from enjoying the game. But i am always going to say what i think of the game and to me it is not accetable at all
I'm taking the stance that it's too early to decide. However, the length of the first two episodes was concerning, to say the least. Regarding the story-line, it has potential and it will heavily benefit from a very strong episode 3, which will set the train in motion (it traditionally has done).
You implied that I wasn't an original fan and made it seem like your opinion was more valid than mine. Plus you referred to me and others as "boys" as if we're children.
"Only an hour" of what was once two hours is 50% shorter. That's something worth complaining about.
You hear that, Telltale
even Batman has had enough
I'm not defending Telltale anymore like before.
Bearded Batman to be exact.
The insults and abuse have come from fans of Season 3, projecting their immaturity onto those giving constructive criticism
