Which season was the best?
For me I like both Season 1 and 2 but I'll go with Season 1 but just by a small margin above Season 2.

Unlike a lot of people here, I like S1 and S2 almost equally, with S1 just barely inching it out.
Season 1.
all all are interasting and super not exist a one super good
Same here
Season 1, DUUUUUHHH
Seasons 1 & 2. I like s1 slightly more because back then (2013) I didn't know what to expect, as I was new to the Telltale games.
Season 1 and 2 both are best but in season 3 when all episodes will release and after playing it we can say that the season 3 is best or not.
At the moment it's season 2 for me, but a New Frontier is off to a great start so that may change.
It's not a subject for a debate. Season One hands down.
In terms of story, S1 is both objectively and personally better. However, in terms of graphics, ANF wins out, at least when it comes to anything that isn't a beard or a flashback model. Best music goes to S2 for having a lot of S1's best music as well as having its own equally grand music. I really wish I could nominate Michonne for something...most diverse cast, maybe?
Season 1 definitely.
I think season 1 is better, but I do love season 2 as well and for a time I did consider season 2 to be better for giving my favorite character (you all should know who lol but for the sake of newcomers I won't spoil it) a much bigger role and having, in my opinion (and I know I'll get a lot of flak for this) a more emotional ending, well depending on which ending you get, that is.
That being said, the overall events of season 2 can't compare to the events of season 1. Episode 5 as a whole was a lot more exciting for season 1 than season 2, and the longer episodes helped me get to know the season 1 cast better and, in turn, get more attached to them than the season 2 cast.
I won't judge season 3 just yet. I have my gripes about it, but we're still only 2 episodes in. There's still 3 episodes left to flesh out the characters and give us an exciting story.
A New Frontier...
Season one
Season 1 was amazing, but 2 left a much bigger impact on me. Gotta got with 2 here.
1 wins by a landslide.
Season 1, but I'm very biased to the memories I have when playing it. Season 1 was happening during probably the happiest period of my life so far. The combination of those good times with the color palette, memorable lines and moments in the game trigger my nostalgia effortlessly. Plus I liked it more than Season 2 overall.
I still love 2 as well, don't get me wrong. But the idiotic nature of a few characters (Cough, most of the cabin Cough) in it would constantly get me to say "Fuck, I miss Lee" outloud.
Story and character wise season one easily outclasses the other installments making it pretty much no contest. By the end of season one you actually cared about nearly all the characters and wonder about the fates of the missing characters. Season one was done with love and care in the sunday dinner oven while season 2 was like some awesome drive thru meal (ya know not as healthy as season one but still in great taste to keep you coming back a few times every now and then). New Frontier is like microwaveable ramen noodles. (Not great for you not all that great in taste but it will get the basic job done of entertaining you even though it's quick and rushed).
Both are 10/10, but for me Season 2 was better.
S1... had a good main and sub plots...
S2 had a promising start... and then just collapsed half way through...

The only one that isn't total and utter shit: season 1.
S1, no contest. S1 was a well-deserved GOTY and remains one of my personal favorite games of all time. I don't view S2 as harshly now as I did at the time of its release (and I never found it a bad game, simply disappointing on some levels and flawed), but it still definitely introduced a lot of these problems we're now seeing taken up to eleven with New Frontier.
Oh, holly Christ. Saw this in the "suggested playlist" and I fucking could not stop laughing.
It all adds up though, although I still think AJ is the antichrist.
I like season 1 and 2 ...but I can't say so much about season 3 until it is fully released.
Season 1 have much more gameplay, deeper conversations, longer playtime and a great story.
Season 2 have a bit less gameplay and playtime, but more Clem.
The first two episodes in season 3 are currently very short and Clem is sadly not the main character. Also the gameplay parts are very low. And the story doesn't matter at the moment.
I like Season 2 more
Season 1 was more consistent, had better characters and better development, but I gotta say, season 2 is my favorite, if only because it was a very different experience from what I have ever had before in a video game.
While many people list one of the reason why they think season 2 wasnt as good is because you play as a child, I gotta say, that exact reason is why I loved season 2, I had known about this series for a long time, but december last year I finally got around to playing it. The biggest reason I played it was because I loved the idea of protecting Clem through the apocalypse, and then season 2 happened.
In season 1 I had played 100% good morals, no killing people, no stealing all that jazz, and I did it because I thought it was right, but it was also very easy, because I was a strong adult, so even if I got in a pickle I could get out. However, when playing season 2, I did not have that luxury, Clem doesnt have the body strength like Lee did, so she struggles alot more with the walkers until she learns the "kick them in the knee" trick, which also made them a bigger threat, same with other people, mostly you meet adults, so you have to be careful what you say and do, because you cant fight your way out.
That feeling of being weak and fragile, it really changed how I played the game, coupled with the fact that I had just yesterday gotten done with the brutal ending of season 1, crying my eyes out at 3 in the night, hoping not to wake anyone, I found myself being way more critical, as I thought Clem would be as well, she had lost everything, and in a sense so had I (its obviously still just a video game, but I like to immerse myself, and I had genuinely felt the pain of losing Lee, obviously still a video game but you know), and so I wasnt as forgiving or nice as Lee was, there was not always room for being nice or moral in that world, I was obviously still nice when the situation allowed, but when choice like chopping off Seritas arm came, I chopped it off without question, I had heard earlier that you can actually prevent the turning if you cut off the limb fast enough, and I was not about to let the same thing that happened to Lee happen to her, Clem simply wouldnt take any chances with bites after what happened to Lee.
So, in short, the reason why I like season 2 more than season 1, even though season 1 is better in almost every way, was because I got to play as Clementine, it immersed in the world, in a way that I have never felt before, to the point where I would dream about the characters, and I base my choices around what I thought Clem would do in the situation, rather than what I as a person thought was right, I was very much immersed in the character of Clementine in a way I have not been in any game before, which is also why I was very dissapointed to learn that Javier was the playable character for A New Frontier.
Dont get me wrong, I am actually enjoying A New Frontier, and the moments with Clem, in the flashbacks and when her "facade" breaks, and she shows her real self, they are some of my favorite moments ever, but the rest of the game is just not doing it for me, I dont really care about Javiers family, because honestly, from what I have seen, there is no way they could survive the apocalypse for so long, with all the stupid shit they do.
In the end, I just hope the controversy concerning this season doesnt kill off the series completely, the biggest thing that prevents me from enjoying A New Frontier as much as I would like, is my fear of where they will take the series in the future, will they remove Clem from the story, or will they focus the story back on Clem in the next game, like their seems to be a big demand for? I hope so.
My dream game right now, is a Walking Dead game with Clem as the protagonist, protecting AJ, with the themes of the story being, "how far are you willing to go? will you sacrifice your humanity to protect him?" when is it too much? stealing supplies? killing someone? torturing someone? joining the new frontier? I think a game focused around that would be very interesting, and they already explored it somewhat in season 2, as Clem became more survivor oriented, and less community driven.
Wow, that became longer than expected
Hoo boi
Season 3 sure attracts all kinds of people huh?
You can't seriously be asking this? Season 1 was so far above 2&3 that even Mt Everest had to look up!
Season 1 hands down
Seasons 2 soundtrack was incredible. If there's one thing telltale gets right with twd, it's the soundtrack. It makes a lot of the scenes just shine and it sets the tone. A new frontiers is pretty good so far, can't wait to hear more.
Season 1 may have had a great cast of characters and an amazing ending, but for some reason season 2 really stuck with me. A LOT of unforgettable moments. And that soundtrack....too good
I'm sorry, but season 2's soundtrack is garbage compared to season 1.
I can only think of two original tracks off the top of my head, the "Escape/run" track and "the knife"
Season 1 takes the win without even breaking a sweat. It had the best characters, best story, and it felt like the most complete season of all, offering the most content per episode (hubs, puzzles, QTE's, etc.)
Season 2 was a mixed bag for me. I loved it the first time, but as I played it more and more I started to notice some very glaring issues. The characters felt wasted and under-developed, the locations were mostly bland and uninspired, and the plot was pretty inconsistent, like the writers had no Idea where the season was going. That being said, I still found enjoyment through out the season (that fireplace scene in episode 5 is one of my favorites of all TT's games), so I would say the season was good, but it had it's flaws.
ANF on the other hand, has been mostly a disappointment for me. None of the new characters have picked my interest, the episodes feel short and rushed, the plot seems to be heading towards a very cliché direction and literally NONE OF OUR DECISIONS FROM OUR PREVIOUS SEASONS MATTERED. I know that this has been argued to death on the forums, but the way TT handled the Season 2 endings was awful. Hopefully TT will step up their game and surprise us with episodes 3,4 and 5, but from what I've seen so far I'm not impressed.
Season 1 was better, but season 2 was carried by clem who was awesome.
Having Clem be the protagonist in season 2 was so great, I loved both seasons 1 & 2, but season 1 was slightly better in my opinion.
