  • No 400 days openers... this poll's rigged.

  • In the terms of episodes as a whole, I'd say Season 2's premiere episode was the best, but for opening scenes I'd say Season 1's.

    Can we define "season opener?"

Do you mean the opening scene; all scenes that are before the flashing The Walking Dead logo; or the entire first episode?

I spoke way too early! :p

  • The opener of those are practically the full "episode".

  • I explained it in the poll, I meant the beginning "Title Card" sequence.

    Season 1: Lee's car ride

    Season 2: Omid's Death

    Season 3: Javier's Origin

  • No worries haha, I didn't see your edit until after I sent the reply haha.

I'm torn between Season 1 and Season 2's openers. Both were great hooks and gave us a good idea of what we were in for.

I believe the technical term for that is "Cold Open."

  • Omids death, because it set the tone so well for how it was gonna be to play as a child that season as supposed to playing as Lee, and I will defend season 2 to my grave, and say that playing as a child was a great choice in The Walking Dead world

  • I don't see why Season 2 is hated so much on the forums.

    It was a good season.

I do however, prefer playing as Javier and seeing Clementine grow along side. Hope to see her with slightly more play time, but that's it. I do love Season 2 and Season 1, I go back and cry everytime I see both of their endings...

  • I personally loved Season 3's, however, it didn't set the mood.

Season 3 was moreso of the game's take of the "Start" of the outbreak and I always love seeing the origin story.

  • Seasons 3's was good too, but I found 1 and 2 to be better.

  • 1. Javier's family origin story was well-done and had a pleasant cinematic feel to it.
    2. Lee's police car was a quite original way to begin his story and learn about his backstory.
    3. Omid's death in S2's beggining felt too cheap and rushed in my opinion.

Bonus: Wyatt's story has the best opener in 400 days. 10/10 would rock paper scissors again.

  • Agreed! I wish all season's would start like Wyatt's!

I personally also enjoyed Javier's the most!

Lee was close second, and I was always meh about Season 2's opener.

  • Yeah its kinda cool actually, I just keep fearing that Javier is their attempt at straying away from Clementine, and any future games might not have her in it.

I feel like there is huge potential for a game about how far youre willing to go as Clem to protect AJ, they already did a bit of it in season 2, where Clem would slowly get more survivor minded, and think less about others (depending on how you played of course, but it felt like natural progression due to what she has been through). A game focused around the moral limit, how much will you do to protect those you hold dear (AJ) in the apocalypse? Steal? Kill? Torture? I think it could be a great game, expand on what they were doing a bit in season 2 with standing behind and watching Carver get killed, or leaving

  • Could be a future game if you think about it haha.

Overall, I don't feel like they are planning on pushing Clementine from the center stage. Javier seems like at an attempt to place a well made and thought out character back as a main protaganist.

Season 2 did lack these characters compared to Season 1, in my opinion.

  • Great survey! I love how it is not one sided at all.

What is your opinion on everything, because I finished giving mine.

  • Lee's car ride/crash
