Telltale will lose all the respects i have for them if they are planning on doing that kind of a thing. Because obviously Javier would save Gabe, but we, as players with a bias towards Clem will rather save Clem instead. It would really be just "how biased are you" kind of a situation.
Personally, i don't hate Gabe, but i must say, he is pretty annoying sometimes.
I don't have a problem with Gabe hitting on Clem or vice … moreversa, though. Not that i ship it, but hey, that would be adorable, even if Gabe is kinda a fuckwit compared to Clementine.
Though, Clementine at least has a very good reason to act that way, she lost everything, and not even once. Gabe should be happy he still has his family (well, at least part of it)
Anyway, i hope Telltale has some plans for Gabe, i would love to see how he is going to grow as a character. David will probably influence him greatly.
We have two episodes so far, I bet she's going to warm up sooner or later, the shit she's been through is bound to slow that down a bit.
Thats what I'm hoping for. And by that token, so can Gabe.
Btw, what's an edgelord?
Javier's bound to have influence as well. Gabe's spent a large amount of time with Javi now and has raised him since the outbreak started. I think there's a good chance that Javi taught him how to shoot.
Good point.

Yeah, but after all, Davis is his real father, and they probably assumed he is dead, so i'm guessing Javier will really have to struggle if he wants to protect Gabe from bad influences.
Unless David is a changed man, but you know, i kinda doubt that.

Alright, my problem with Gabe is that he is indeed a possible love interest to Clementine.
Why do I have a problem with that? I'll explain.
What this series has done effectively is make the male gamers feel like father figures towards Clementine. We've seen her develop emotionally, instinctively, physically; she has come a long way. Fathers are naturally protective of their daughters, and what we've seen from Gabe is immaturity and pseudo-hormonal toss that is reflective of 7 year olds wanting more attention from their dads. We have a right to dislike him, perhaps even hate him. It certainly doesn't help that he's the one character in season 3 with the least development and focus. Do I want him to die? Of course not, but I definitely don't want to see Telltale follow through with this possible puppy love subplot. It would also be out of Clementine's character.

Time will tell.
It doesnt seem to manly to pull a gun on someone just because theyre talking, there was no signs that it was gonna escalate beyond Conrad being angry, and if it did, I am sure Javier had it handled lol

He's a teen. Nobody loves them. Even teens hate each other.
Serious face on: I was expecting much worse from him, but he's rather levelheaded. i think he's ok, I can manage him. And I like that Clem has someone her own age around [mva-ha-ha-ha-ha].
I find the hate very surprising, he just seems to be an older version of Clem from season one, scared and have been protected by a loving guardian, and now willing to 'man' up and fight for their loved ones, even if it's hard or scary. I'll admit when we were first introduced I just saw another Duck but now I see something of a parallel.
Well Gabe said he does want to change the situation. That was the purpose of the "Be a man" speech. Kenny is very whiny if you don't go along with everything he says. They are almost exactly the same, except Gabe is a kid so its normal for him.
I don't like Nick at all. I like Kenny, because even though he whines a lot, he actually tries to change the situation instead of just whini… moreng. Well, i guess that kids simply can't really change the situation, because they are physically weaker, but then again - if you can't contribute, at least don't whine.
i think it's because of the clem x gabe thing - at least it's what i've seen in most cases. but also because he's constantly in a mood, which, i personally don't find annoying at all. in fact i can see where he's coming from.
I don't mind Gabe, but he comes across as an awful spoiled typical teenage brat. Which would be fine in a story set in real life America, but it feels like poor storytelling to toss a teen boy like that into the WD disaster years in. He's going through the character development you'd expect immediately after the disaster hits, not years in. As a character, he doesn't feel like he fits, because he fills dropped in awkwardly.
He kind of gives me Ben 3.0 vibes to be honest. I guess I don't like him because he keeps getting snippy with me, and because he seems interested in Clementine.
Here's the most honest answer you're gonna get:
People hate Gabe because he isn't perfect. He's not a badass, he doesn't agree with every single thing you say and he's not a cute little girl.

Aha. No.
I hate Gabe because he is a whiny little brat. Yes, ok he's a teenager, I get it. But for the love of god grow the fuck up, Clem is more of a man than him and there's a good damn chance she's younger than this kid too. He ran away when his stepmother was bleeding out a needed him? Who the fuck does that, seriously. Even if he's mourning the loss of his sister, his much nicer and more likable sister, the fact that he could have been there to help save his stepmothers god damn life should have kept him there. He couldn't stand the sight of blood but he's been in a zombie apocalypse for 4 years and have seen zombies get their heads smashed in and people brutally murdered.

Yep, not to mention Gabe can't even defend himself against normal walkers with his gun, Jesus had to karate save him. I'm going to be honest, I think Gabe can barely defend himself from a walker even though Clem in season 1 did better against walkers at age 9 (improved greatly in season 2 and she's god tier in season 3).

It wasn't the blood that set him off. He made a mistake and felt useless afterwards. Gabe insisted that he be allowed to help. I think that should count for something.

Well he is useless if he can't be there when someone is in dire need of him.
I just don't personally like the kid, it's cool if you do, but i honestly wouldn't be too distraught if he died.
but i honestly wouldn't be too distraught if he died.
I'd prefer he die honestly, he's a liability and I've never cared about him (just like the rest of Javier's family) this entire season so far.
You guys assuming is normal a teenager being a cliche-generic overemotional kid who fucks everything up is sad. This isn't new to the TTG TWD formula. Also, that's acceptable in real life, not in a world where you see dead people walking ( Also, after 4 years ), seeing a lot of people die, etc, etc. Some types of characters are getting boring.
I still can't fathom why people think a teen that has been living under constant fear of dying by being eaten alive would still compulsively whine and complain about being uncomfortable sleeping in a mobile vehicle, if anything he'd want to be there cause it's a quick escape from the very things constantly trying to kill him.
But no, since many people who are playing would "relate" to having a comfy cot to lay in rather then trying to get us into the minds of the characters' plight, let's make him cry about not laying vulnerable in a clearly still occupied shelter. Cause that's sensible.
I'd rather lay in a car if it was the thing that had kept me alive for four years and apparently nothing else cause the wuss can't hold a gun for shit, can't look at icky things like a gapping bullet wound, has to sulk and stab at a walker when he's butthurt, and shows no keen survival awareness whatsoever.

Why do I dislike Gabe?
It's because to paraphrase Jim Sterling, Gabe belongs to the Carl Grimes school of the 101 ****ups of a four foot … moreburden.
He's there to be a child character, someone we are supposed to care about. Telltale just kind of forgot to give us a reason why we are supposed to care about him other than "he's a kid."
Definitely, I would've rather had Mariana a lot more than Gabe, I'm just waiting for an option for Gabe to have a canon death now so I can say "good riddance" and move on.

You can say that about a lot of characters, to be honest. Including Clementine herself now.

Someone whom is extremely edgy, they're a God at it.

He is Gabe's father which is why I think Gabe will be the one struggling.

Let's be honest Doug, you hate crushes because most people picked Carley over you
Sits back down in his mother's basement
Yeah, i'm aware. That's why I had the quotes there.
Hence future episodes. Kate pretty much spells it out when she mentions how Gabe may take after David or Javier.
Agreed

Because he's whiny and not very interesting. That's why I don't like him at least.
He also reminds me too much of how I was around that age and I just cringe thinking about my 13 year old self.

I just hate his personality, especially since he's still acting this way this far into the apocalypse.

God, fuck Gabe.
Like AJ?
Gabe is a b@#$%
Wait, so I've been living my life in a lie this far ?
[jk in case someone takes it srsly lel]
Remember she's still only 13, but it's still possible to happen. Either way it could make sense.
Hopefully he doesn't turn into his dad, David
Would rather still have mariana still alive
Definitely, I would've rather had Mariana a lot more than Gabe, I'm just waiting for an option for Gabe to have a canon death now so I can say "good riddance" and move on.
He bothers me for the same reason Sarah bothered me. He's a lil shit who would probably get us all shot in a really bad situation.
Which would be much more likely in his case since Sarah is much quieter and passive while he is hotblooded and a bit ambitious.
