I was hoping for a borderlands format with the player characters too. But my last optimistic idea would be maybe the ties that bind was pretty much trying to hasten the introduction of Javier's family and Javier. Then the remainder of the season we'll get a more equally led season 3 especially with all the dissatisfying reactions to Javier taking up all the spotlight. Could be why their rewriting so let's hope this is the case and they also intend to extend the episodes beyond a hour to 2 hours.

* Conrad not getting any major screentime and his plan being completely pointless
* Elinor turning out to be evil, especially with little characterization done beforehand.(Please be mature about this, game)
* Ava not coming back with a significant presence
* Max being killed off pointlessly
* Badger getting off scotfree
* Arvo showing up and quickly being written off or completely handwaved
I think Gabe should stick around with Javi, and has a sort of awakening, we already had Ben as a weakling type, so maybe this character will learn to grow up.

The worst thing that can happen is that it is revealed that Clemenitne actually killed Kenny/Jane out of anger, and that the flashbacks were just nightmares. She would also kill Kate, Tripp, and Gabe and take over as leader of the new frontier.
