I'm saying you wouldn't expect Clementine to kill a gay person but you'd be rooting for her to kill a pedophile. Doesn't matter if they actually did anything or not, the fact that they're said to be a pedophile is enough justification.
Can you explain what you mean by what you're saying?
The reason people were up in arms about possible gay characters is because it's acceptable to murder paedophiles?
But why is that a reason why people are fine with there being a paedophile but weren't with gay characters? Because...they want to just kill characters?

Maybe so, but I didn't mean to say that. Maybe times have just changed and so have opinions related to tolerance. Since the gay characters we've had so far have been pretty nice and upstanding people, the anticipated inclusion of [more] pedophiles is an indirect response to that.

I know, that's the only answer I had left to pull out of my ass. Long story short: the notion that the inclusion of pedophiles in the game has been better received in terms of likes than threads suggesting a gay character several years ago is a sign that times have changed and thus people are more accepting of gay people now.
I find it troubling that a thread suggesting there be a paedophile in the game has been better received in terms of likes than threads suggesting a gay character several years ago (before there were any) but there you go.
Okay
I dont think this is all that popular
I dont quite see how or why your comparing a pedophile and a gay person, they would hardly serve the same character type or purpose.
I dont really get the point of them adding a pedo anyway

I think it's unnecessary to include a pedophile. I mean they sort of already did with that guy from 400 Days, but that was more of an implication. I wouldn't be triggered, I would just know that this character is going to be killed off quickly, or hated no matter what. Too much of a headache, and so not worth it. It's too easy to hate a pedophile, and to me personally I'd think the story's trying too hard to get a reaction.

I remember the original thread suggesting gay characters got panned pretty hard, and the comment I was replying to defending having a paedophile had a lot of likes. I guess the forum has just changed.
I'm not saying gay people and paedophiles are alike - I was just saying I found it suspicious that people seemed to have been less willing at the time for gay characters to appear than they are now for paedophiles.

Because acceptable targets, that's why! We totally need more of those for Clementine to kill in cold blood.

I remeber that thread , most peoples point was just why a gay character would be important, what does them being gay matter, they didnt disprove of adding gay character just not seeing why it was so important to have one. This current thread seems to be more some weird desire to have clem kill a pedo.
Frankly I think asking for gay character is irrelevant/trivial, its like asking for more red heads. This pedo request is a bit weirder and would lead to some cliche murder of a creep which is in literally every story with a young female protagonist (particulalry video games)

Right, but their main argument was one of realism, as you're unlikely to solely run into straight people in an apocalyptic setting, which is also the case in this thread - they're saying it should be introduced for realism purposes.
Difference is that people are more fine with paedophiles for realism's sake than gay people, which I simply found a bit unsettling.

I know, I was just making fun of how messed up that would be.
"Whoever she's with, they'll probably come looking for her."
"Great. They show up and we've got her locked up in the shed."
"You think we should bring her in here?!"
"No. I'm just saying it wouldn't look too good."
Only if they did something different with it other then just doing it for the sake of being edgy.
Like, if one of the "good guys" was actually a potential pedophile struggling with his inner demons and we, the player, find out about it and have to decide to either give him a chance to prove himself a good person in a shitty situation or kill him to prevent the risk of him ever hurting a child

I think they already have, way back in Season 1, with Danny St. John. He didn't come out and yell it at the moon, but his tone and comments when talking with Andy outside the barn gave me the impression he had some inappropriate interest in children.
Or like others have said, the Save Lots bandits that likely raped and murdered Jolene's daughter. Point is, those both worked (for me) because they were subtle enough to feel like real people.
So sure, Telltale could introduce a character sexually interested in children later in the season, but I'm not hoping either way for it. Let them introduce well written, fleshed out characters above all else.

The only real racism that has been in the world of TWD was in issue 20. There hasn't been any racism since. The game needs to add some.

Anyone who is a pedophile deserves to die.
If it wasn't for the third panel, I'd say this is an example of narm--a joke that's meant to be most likely taken seriously.

So people are tired of nice characters is what you mean and want people to hate?
Sorry I still don't really get it

Ah so just that people are now more open to the kind of characters that may be shown in a game?

wut
I really hope they dont, so many games already have some weird attempt rape scene followed by a gory kill, we dont need another one

People took the whole Cluke thing way too seriously back in the day and many judged Luke purely on that.
Exactly!
Really now? Not to sound like I'm stereotyping here, but I was under the impression that most Jane fans were female.
Damn, that would be harsh. Then you would have to find a way to unbind myself.
I would rather they don't add a pedophile, but if they do then I'll be fine with it provided they are written decently
I know, I was just making fun of how messed up that would be.

That's actually a pretty good idea.
They already did. Save Lots, remember?
Having a believable story makes it all the more compelling - and to do so, both positive and negative aspects are required.
How rude! Doesn't Otis know the correct term is "Urban"?
Nah. Everyone expected that and it was intentionally subverted.
