I'd choose Kate over Clem and I find myself siding with Kate in all situations.
With Clem, I usually side with her opinion but not because of some blind allegiance to her character. I actually agree with her in most of the situations. If it comes to Clem or Kate/Gabe. I''ll always side with Kate/Gabe. Family comes first.
I as a player prefer Clementine but if I was playing Javi I would choose Kate.
As for their relationships, Javi is in a romantic relationship with Kate but I'm not sure if I'll continue it. He cares about Kate but he refused to abandon his brother so that's where things get complicated. With David back in the picture I'm uncertain if Javi would be willing to continue it.
As for Clementine, she and Javi would have an uneasy relationship, he cares about her and wants the best for her but their attitude towards survival is completely different so they often clash. He told Tripp the truth about Clem shooting Eli, he didn't kill Conrad and then he let David in despite Clementine demanding that he not let him in.
Would be interesting if a choice like this happens. I'd be quite split on it for that matter, I've played Javi that he should care for his own family first and foremost. But at the same time, it's Clem.
Hmm, thats a tough one. It'll depend on the context and how much is at stake. Although I will say that this season you can make many decisions negatively affecting / directly against Clem without any real consequences for their relationship overall (e.g. Not backing her up at Prescott, bringing her to the NF). So I think a possible Clem vs Kate situation might follow the same vein if you choose the latter.
Also on a side note, David vs Kate >>>>> Kate vs Clem
Maybe a K/C choice would be less predictable, but a well-handled and emotionally intense situation where you have to choose between D and K would be amazing and have the potential to be very divisive.

Clem sucks more than a Taiwanese whore at this point, no use even trying to salvage her shitty character and awful attitude...
Kate on the other hand actually has some potential to grow on. She may be written about as well as is expected from source material that seems to favor a character dying rather than a character growing and developing, but she's at least someone who shows signs of flaws and strengths to her character.
Funny how writing basic characteristics like fears, temptations, reservations, and other things actual humans feel on a daily basis can alleviate so much faults that'd otherwise be glaring and annoying.
So yeah, fuck Clementine and her constant scowling aggressive demeanor.

Not my point, trying re-reading my post to see that what I'm arguing is that Clementine doesn't act like a child, she doesn't act like a survivor, she doesn't even really act like a human.
She's a plot propped up to get all the less-than-intelligent people to collectively hail her as being a "badass" when her only purpose is to be a cosmic punching bag for the plot to progress.
I'm not impressed by 2-dimensional cardboard fixtures in store windows to sell a product I don't care about and I'm sure as shit not impressed by that same cardboard fixture trying to sell me on a character in a narrative who does nothing but give off sassy flourishes after a kill and say something akin to what would be found in an 80's action film.
And although Kate isn't well written per-se, she's at least got some resemblance of depth to her.
Clementine is kind of growing on me now, but she's going to get AJ so she might be gone for good.
I hate Kate. She's kind of manipulative, even if she doesn't realize it. She tries to sell me all of that "David is dangerous and we aren't safe in Richmond" bullshit when in actuality she doesn't want to continue her marriage with David. She talked up how "marriage is for life" but when her husband actually comes back she gets cold feet. Either divorce him (or however you would do that in an apocalypse) or suck it up, but don't be a walking hypocrisy.
Hey blame the writers for neglecting Clementines story, ruining her personality, using her as a way to make more sales and instead focusing their attention on some crappy new family that I don't give 2 shits about. Don't get me wrong, I like Javi and David, some of the new side characters for Precott too but they had way better options for season 3, what we got after years of waiting is kinda insulting.

Kate is an annoyance to me, she wont stop flirting with me, even though I have rejected all her advances with the exception of saying we could take a trip to norway, (which would be a completely normal nonromantic thing to do in most cases, especially since I'd bring Gabe and Mariana), and she keeps insisting that David is a bad guy, (although Clem is saying the same, so maybe there is some truth to it, Clem probably knows David better than Javier does at this point)
Clem, I still love Clementine as a character, and as opposed to alot of people, I find her behaviour this season to be mostly a natural evolution of her character in the zombie apocalypse (with the exception of killing that guy at Prescott, Trigger discipline Clem, Trigger Discipline!), and Clementine is still my favorite, she is the reason I started playing this series, because I really like characters like hers, and she is the reason I still play, I also care way more about Clementine than I do about Javiers family, although David and Gabe are growing on me, Kate and Clem would be an easy choice, Clem or David would also be rather easy, Dunno about Clem or Gabe though
Clem all the way, Kate just likes to start drama, and I can already see the David confrontation coming up in the future just because Kate wants Javi's dick.
Clem for sure lol cuz she's so badass around this age, and smart…then she said "i'll see u when i see u", so i'm hope'n dat she might come back again either the next episode or the last epi.
Easy. Clementine. Kate is not a very good character imo. She constantly needs saving, hasn't really done anything, and is just clearly used as a divide between Javier and his brother. Clementine on the other hand, although not liking her in this game, I'd still would choose her if only because of nostalgia reasons.
I do blame the writers for how much Clementine is an awful character now, doesn't mean I won't hold steadfast to my opinion that she's an asshole with nothing interesting to her personality.
And me blaming the writers goes hand-in-hand with my opinions of her anyway so... I don't know what you're trying to say, other than I'm right which is kind of to be expected.

Am I the only one playing season 3 but silence when talking with fucking Garcia family?I mean I only talk with Clem,Tripp,Ele,Conrad/Francine,Jesus and NF community
Plus,Kate and Gabe just like Sarah or Ben.But I think Ben not so stupid crazy shit. They(Kate,Gabe and Sarah)are my most hated character ever.
Would be interesting if a choice like this happens. I'd be quite split on it for that matter, I've played Javi that he should care for his own family first and foremost. But at the same time, it's Clem.
That seems to be the thinking for a few people. I could never get myself into that line of thinking, though. If I'm making decisions for Javier, then I'm the person making those decisions, not me as Javier. I don't really have that connection yet. I wouldn't play a game that revolves around player choice if I was just going to make choices based on what I think that character would do, I'd might as well be playing a linear that doesn't put me in the position of deciding what to do.
I kissed Kate
But I hugged clem
It's not me who's guna choose here my boi javi will loose his mind if a choice between these 2 come out...but in the end you know what I'll choose

Nothing remotely interesting about either of them. Telltale have ruined Clem's character when they could have done so much more such as creating 4 different personalities for Clem based on whether you went alone with AJ, with Jane, with Kenny or stayed in Wellington. But no because Telltale have long forgotten or too fucking lazy in changing a character's personality. Remember Lilly and Kenny's treatment of Lee depending who we side with? Or the way we treat Vernon and how his personality changes? What the hell happened to decent things like that? I was actually looking forward to seeing how Clem treats Javier if he had sided with Conrad in episode 2 but no, once again Telltale fuck up and forget or choose not to do a damn thing. Clem still treats Javier exactly the same way, there is not even a mention of hostility to do with the Conrad choice. Clem and Conrad don't even butt heads after what happened! Why didn't they say for example, have Clem only help Javier kill those walkers with the baseball bat if he hadn't sided with Conrad? And the determinant Conrad helped him instead?? I could write better shit than Telltale! It's just god awful how Telltale do things now, their choices used to at least feel like they mattered!
Kate doesn't have anything interesting enough about her for me either, certainly not to the extent that i could get attached to her like i did with characters in Season 1.
Comments
I would kill myself if i had to choose between these 2. Clem is always my first choice but the recent moments with Kate... Idk what I'd do. Hehehe
I'd choose Kate over Clem and I find myself siding with Kate in all situations.

I'm polar opposite with these two characters, I love Clem more than I love real people irl, however I dislike Kate to a huge extent, she's a moron.
Clem

Sure, you're acting like Clem didn't do any shit when Kate is the useless one.

Clementine: A character Telltale want us to develop a bias for despite her very minimal role in the third season.
Kate: A ditzy character we're meant to bond with with no reason or motivation to want to outside of a forced romance
Clem all the way, Kate just likes to start drama, and I can already see the David confrontation coming up in the future just because Kate wants Javi's dick.
Neither. Clementine has just become stale to me and Kate is... Ugh, no comment.
I'd say clementine since I'm more invested into the character and I like her more than kate.
Clem for sure lol cuz she's so badass around this age, and smart…then she said "i'll see u when i see u", so i'm hope'n dat she might come back again either the next episode or the last epi.
Obviously Clementine, c'mon we're all biased.
Clementine>everyone else

Agreed, though the Clementine stuff is neutral to me.
Easily Clem. Kate started as, and remains, a shallow and annoying bitch.
I don't think this is fair no matter what you actually mean with that title, but if it's who I'd choose to help, then Kate.

A pretty unfair, if I'm being honest.
Look at Conrad vs Clementine choice... Sheesh.
It would be really hard to make the choice even remotely fair.
Xactly
jumps off a cliff
On reading the comments, i guess as WD fans we all would choose Clem.
But after playing s3 and playing AS Javi, some may shift to Kate...
Amirite?
Conrad vs Clem choice was child's play. I cant imagine who'd have chosen not to shoot that SoB

Kate, because she's family, even though I fucking hate her.
Agreeeeeeed! They should take lessons from the way Season 1 was made
She's putting it on us
