Was it really necessary to have THAT conversation with Clem.

  • Lol, that's true, good point.

I will say that all the time leading up to this season...all anyone had said was....they better not do anything to Clementine because she is

  • I liked it, it added a touch of humanity and realism in my opinion. It's no big deal anyway, it's better to be nice to a young girl about it than be all "Ew wtf umm idk lol"

  • For almost 2 years?

I agree with that...but meh what can you do...probably finding food and avoiding walkers kept them from having a mature conversation about that...and they were sort of estranged because of what happened to Omid.

  • I dont really see why it had to be included but it didnt last long so it wasnt that bad.

  • I can't be the only one who pissed myself laughing during this conversation. It's the one thing that made this episode a whole lot better just watching Javier struggle getting his words out and acting all awkward XD

  • Lolwut

  • It was kinda supposed to be awkward. I'm sure thats how most father figures feel talking about this subject with their daughters or young women they care for.

  • And since when was Javi a father figure to Clem?

I liked the moment they were having, but there should've been a more developed relationship between them first for this bonding to work even better. Considering it's the 4th episode it's really getting late for that, but better late than never.
Also, maybe should've gotten the bleeding arm fixed first.

  • The general focus on this Season was Family and how much fucking drama there is in Family shit. Hence the Period discussion. and tbh when my cousin was deployed I had almost the same interaction like Javi and Clem between my niece and me.

I just don't get why was the point of the scene?

That she's a woman/mom now? Ok, she even forcibly says this before The Kenny flashback started.

It didn't develop further, at all, I found it as the dubbed down, sudden, version of giving Clem her hat back in EP2, unlike with the bandage because it sorta had a good unique shoot and dialogue.

  • It's something so natural and it makes sense that it would come up. I have no issues talking about it in real life, and certainly I wouldn't have issues talking about it in a game.

  • Yes I never saw that coming don't know what to think

  • And yes I'm aware of my profile name

    • Knows about Rebbeca's other affair baby

    • Doesn't know about periods.

Really makes you wonder what Christa was doing with her for 2 years...

  • Me neither. I was like "nah, that shit's on Christa" oh wait... She ain't here anymore. So in my mind I insulted clem. It's her own fault for bringing something like that up with somebody she literally met about 4 days ago and especially with me around, asking me about something like that can never end good so I just said "oh... that"

Yes I never saw that coming don't know what to think

  • I liked it. It was realistic, it HAD to be uncomfortable. Plus, some bonding, Brother-Sister relationship I want to see with Javi and Clem.

  • It was certainly a weird time to have that kind of conversation for TT to put in. I guess I can understand why Clem would be honest with Javier when she was in pain, but to have it in the game at all just seems unnecessary. Does TT really think players need to know this? Now? The answer is yes I guess. It's for the weirdos and people who were desperate for some awkward comedic relief.

  • It was awkward and uncomfortable, with a dash of oh my god, as it should be. Was worried after seeing people discuss it, but it was handled well enough.

  • But I never heard of this menstrual cycle. What does that do?

this was physically painful to read

AAAHHH, the pain she was feeling when she is with Javi in the hospital. Now I gotcha. But I never heard of this menstrual cycle. What does that do?

  • Best and most meaningful scene in this whole damn game

kudos to you telltale, for breaking the ice when no one else would

  • I guess I suck at having acknowledge about women.

  • I liked the scene because it felt like a nod and a throw back to the "look out for Clem" days. In a way it makes perfect sense it would happen on screen.

It didn't feel as much like she was asking Javi about it but she was asking the player who saw her from 8 into her teens. This ep had some good Clementine content in it at least.

Did you miss that moment where she was hiding in the bathroom, and overheard Rebecca's pray?

And the threatening about telling her husband about that it's not his baby later on?

  • The scene itself was fine. Short, tasteful and it made me laugh. I really don't see the problem.

  • The scene was great. Don't get me wrong, you guys, but stop making a big deal about this. Isn't like Clem's period was the major plot of the episode, geez. It was, I don't know, less than a minute situation? You guys are being stupids bitching like that about a girl bleeding.

  • I had no issue with the scene. Only thing I ever wondered is why Javi told Clem to talk to Kate about it and not Eleanor. Yeah, both could give her the basics, but Eleanor could give her the basics and medical advice. It's nothing major, but I would think Eleanor could give the most advice.

  • It wasn't really necessary, but it added to Clem's character. Shows she's [ahem..] "growing up" as Javi would put it. A small detail that makes sense for the world. It's a natural thing, people.
Yes it was awkward but the talk only lasted for 2 minutes or so. And it's not like they got into the nitty, gritty details of the menstruation cycle. I was fine with it.

It seems as though you're the only person who had an issue with it. Lol.

I was fine with it in all honesty. It was kinda funny and they didn't dwell too much on it. Nothing to really get worked up over, dude.

  • I thought it was great and really well done. Added some realism while providing a cute and funny bonding moment for Clem and Javi :)

  • I was meaning the player. Javi and Clem relationship doesn't make any sense, and probably is the biggest plot hole in the series lol.

And since when was Javi a father figure to Clem?

  • In a game about zombies and survival we're having a discussion between a grown man and a teenager about her period....that's nice.

  • Still can't think of anything rational for why they even threw in this unnecessary scene in the first place. Probably to get them fanbois aroused

  • IF that is why this is in the game...wow.

LOL I remember the thread where someone asked about how Clem handles her period. I remember that 90% of the responses were "does it matter? Its a game!". In comes telltale this episode and says "THIS is how she's handling it".

  • This is like asking if we ever need to see a character eat, and tbh, if we had to see her deal with this later on and she SOMEHOW knew EXACTLY what to do about it, we'd be complaining about how unrealistic and unexplained that is.

It just means a girl can get pregnant when she starts having periods. The average ages are between 12 and 15 years old when they grow into femalehood.
    Ask your mom lol.

Omg this game has some educational goals lol.

And now it really feels like I raised Clem. From surviving to give her the knowledge of her growing to a woman.

The moment I saw that scene came on I knew some people might have a problem with it but I didn't expect this many, and some people seem to let it ruin the whole episode for them.

Honestly, the scene was great. Before playing I got spoiled just a tad so I knew the subject would be brought up and I was scared they wouldn't handle it correctly, but they did perfectly. For those saying "It was redundant, they didn't need to add it." Sorry but news flash guys (yes, guys because I haven't seen a single woman complain about the scene) it happens, it's realistic, it's natural, it's inevitable, and it's something a lot of people wonder about believe it or not. I have been on these forums for years and if I had a dollar for every period thread I have seen...
    "Realistic problems"
    "The Menstruating Edition"
    "Does Clem know about puberty?"
"What do girls do about their periods?"
...and, like, 50 more. I would have a lot of dollars.

So I get the idea that staff saw all these threads and decided to touch up on the subject a little to give fans some closure, and you know what? That's fantastic. They were listening and did something that a lot of other stories never dare to touch up on but Telltale did it.

"She was with Christa and was in wellington why didn't she know?"
First off, the poor girl has the education of a first grader. Second off, she wasn't completely clueless. She knew it was something that happens to woman but she was just overwhelmed. Also, Christa was with her when she was younger, she didn't need to have that talk yet. Usually that talk doesn't just randomly come up, it comes up when it needs to be. Clem didn't need it before.

"Clem has known Javier for like a week why would she tell him?
Yes, I understand she hasn't known him very long. But tell me who else is around that she is closer with who she can tell? Yeah, nobody. Javier, as much as she doesn't know him, is still the closest person to her right now and she needed answers. So I don't see how that's so illogical. Also not to mention this is probably the most personal she has gotten with a person in probably over a year. That girl who pointed that shotgun at the back of his head a week ago? Well she's not that person anymore. If they needed something to further cement their "brother-sister" relationship, this was it.

"She's too young to have gotten it" (yes, I've seen this complaint.)
Educate yourself please. She's not going to be that 8 year old from season 1 forever.

"I wish they didn't add that. We've known her since she was little. It was way too awkward."
Welcome to reality where some things in life, no matter how hard you try, will always be awkward. You can't avoid the inevitable and frankly, you can't ignore it either so I'm glad Telltale didn't ignore it. Also might I add, THAT SCENE COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE. When I got spoiled I was worried they would drag it out, make the reactions unrealistic, add unnecisary remarks, etc. But none of that happened. Really the scene was not bad at all, it was awkward yes and it has to be, but it was bearable. Clem said it straight out, it was quick, didn't drag it out or say unnecessary dlog, Javier's reaction was pure and realistic, and as I expected they let another woman help her. Really, all you guys who's dicks are shriveling up because - DEAR GOD - woman biology was mentioned... please grow up. Your mother gets it, your siblings will get it, and your daughters will get it. Might as well get use to it now

  • I think this is cute.

And I acknowledged that it is natural and realistic, doesn't necessarily mean I think it should be included nor does it justify it's uncomfortableness.
