Its great you enjoy it but i don't and I won't ever understand how anyone who has played season 1 and even S2 before this actually enjoy thi… mores game or even rank it on the same level.
This game is not good enough when i know Telltale are capable of so much more. It's like the writers don't give a shit anymore
Ther is much more character development for the Garcia's than any of the cabin group characters in season 2.
Unless you speak about Clem we have seen in 3 Seasons.

A large part of that is the fact, unlike the Cabin Group, the Garcias are a small family of four that get the more consistent and dedicated focus because they are the main characters of their installment. Hmmm only just i suppose.
Like @DabigRG said, the reason for that is probably due to the Garcia family being small compared to the cabin group. But still if i am being honest, the development isn't huge with the Garcia's either. What do we know about Kate apart from being married to David? We know about Javier and David's background, parts of it anyway. I still feel Telltale could have done so much more this season

And its stuff like that which really lacked this season. We don't know anything about Conrad and Francine, or Tripp and Eleanor's lives before the apocalypse. I always liked to get backgrounds to the type of people we meet like those in Season 1.
Take Ben for example, not a huge amount to know of him as he was a student but we found out he was with his teacher and class mate and they had recently escaped from a camp once the bandits had attacked. We learnt how he hid in a gym before leaving there after one of the girls commited suicide and turned. He tells Lee that his parents let him drive on the weekends (so this obviously tells us that he can drive which gives us more info about him), it can also be assumed he is religious due to reading the bible he found in a room at the motor inn. Then later mentioning about his family and that he has a little sister and doesn't know what ever happened to them.
It's the small things like this which i enjoyed in Season 1. Why couldn't they have something like that again this season? Give any of the characters something truly memorable

To me, both Carver and Joan were interesting AT FIRST. These villains seemed like they weren't just pure evil but then all of a sudden... nope, we're just gonna start doing evil things for the sake of it. If I had to say which one is better, I would have to go with Joan because the diplomatic aspect of her character is just more interesting to me than a man who just resorts to violence when he doesn't get what he wants.
I hear you on the pudding thing but when you step back, it's not really far-fetched. We are 4 years in the apocalypse so people are not going to trust you at your word. It makes sense to not let someone go because I'm sure by now, they have tried that and been burnt by it (like Roman's group in 400 days). When you factor in that ANF is just destroying communities anyway, it's pretty believable that they would just kill Javi, but maybe they wanted to know where the rest of his group was.
Communities falling has always been a problem in Walking Dead everything. It always seems like the main characters are just going from community to community with no sense of direction. I agree it's not realistic but I guess there would be more communities now as the world tries to "rebuild".
Btw, where is it mentioned that 123 people are in Prescott? I only saw like 20...
The David thing is dumb. We would never realistically meet up with him again. Unfortunately, Season 2 does the same thing with Kenny. They seriously need to stop with that.
Nobody knows what Clem was doing early season besides getting a car. I think this is just to illustrate that she had no direction after losing AJ. She probably had some dark times after the separation before deciding to leave the area.
I get what you're saying about Clem trying to find her home in Season 2 and I guess that is a good theme for the season. But the rest of the story changing every episode just turned me off. I think if Carver was less evil and lasted until the last episode I would have like the season a lot more. But for me, Season 2 stopped being good after episode 2.
Well, for me Season 2's direction is Clementine getting to a place that she can call home. Christa calls it Wellington in the beginning and … moreit's up to the player to tailor their story in what it's gotta be. Essentially ANF is almost the same for me, after spending 4 years in a magic van they got tired of it and decided to find a place to stay. Well, the thing is that even though S2 is more "all over the place", but it makes more sense why they do one or the other. The difference between those 2 though is the fact that S2 had a interesting villain and believable characters. Whereas ANF has a story that is hard to believe(Oh no!we ate pudding, hide!); disappointing villain;(50 y. old woman playing joker...ok) communities falling like Kenny's cardboard beard(community with 123 people and a hot water is being defended by a guard, barmen and 2 people randomly crossing by...ok); us going in circles all the time feels like a filler in a season with … [view original content]
Agreed on Mark. We didn't know him long enough to know about his life except he worked at the Warner Robins airforce base where the group found him when hunting for supplies during the 3 month time jump.
Omid and Christa, we did have info about them. They lived in San Fransisco, in an apartment together and owned a cat. Omid loved civil war history like Lee and had his licence suspended twice for almost hitting a pedestrian lol! Christa's parents owned a house similar to the one where they found the dead couple. She also said her parents liked kung fu movies. So we did have our fill on some things about them. Certainly more than most of S3's cast.

Forgot to mention that Omid mentioned they had a neighbour who owned a dog with a chipped collar that automatically opens the doggie door when it gets close lol

Did they outright say that at some point? Cause all I remember is that she's technically not a doctor, but she knows just enough to count as one in desperate times.

She can determinantly tell you she is an EMT when Javi tells Tripp the truth about Clem and Eli.
When you chose to say you need a doctor, she will tell you she isn't a doctor but an EMT. And EMT's are the best you can get in ZA she will tell you.
From Eleanor we just know she was an EMT and that is it.

I love this game too. Even though I may have said some stuff about it on other thread they are either little things or for joke purposes. Season 1 was perfect with plenty of actions and just slow scenes. I felt season 2 was just way to slow and got boring ANF is just almost non stop action but I can live with it and I actually look forward to future episodes. So year couldn't agree more especially since it seems choices are starting to matter age I'm super exited because episode 5 has been described as telltales most tailored episode yet.
A New Frontier would have been so much better had it started off strong from the start with writing like episodes three and four. I don't know if I can look past the shortcomings of the first two episodes as they are having an odd impact (Gabe getting mad over Conrad when he told Javier to kill him) while I want to just forget about them. Kenny's awfully written death, Tripp being a moron ("You're the boss", really?), lack of character development, and other writing shortcomings have really marred the experience for me. I want a reset, this story had potential but the former writers essentially sabotaged it.
Of course shes going to be in TWD it's fucking clem. It's ALWAYS been about her. Did you forget the only single reason why javi and his story even exists in the first place is to appeal to new people? If it wasn't for that retarded decision then season 3 would've been about clem story
Cause she's blatantly being forced in to appease to the crowd of Clem-zealots and nothing else.
Brooding around and doing nothing to progress the narrative is the opposite of interesting.
Did you forget the only single reason why javi and his story even exists in the first place is to appeal to new people?
More like the only reason Clementine and her side story is even included is to appeal to the old people.
If it wasn't for that retarded decision then season 3 would've been about clem story
Good thing it's not officially called Season 3, eh? Honestly, you could replace Clementine with another character and still get the same basic story except with a unified, more defined backstory.

Well that's a bit funny since you can figure out Kate, David and Javi's story archs in the first few minutes of episode 1. Tripp and Eleanor are one of hte most bland characters I've ever seen.
I see Carver and Joan a little bit differently. I see Carver as a authoritarian socialist/darwinist(doesn't matter, but he had a "vision" of how things should go in order to survive) and whereas you see Carver as "pure evil", some people could see Carver's actions justified(he is a villain and what he did ofc makes all players hate him), as his actions made sense from his point of view. He wanted to enforce authority through inciting fear and he was not hesitating to use violence in order to show that his word is everything. You can actually make a parallel from Carver to some countries like Soviet Union for example. For some they're pure evil and some people glorify it today. So, I think that idea of Carver was interesting, but him going down so fast was disappoint, yeah.
What I dislike about Joan is connected with this council and how it does things makes little sense. Like, if you make Joan admit that she is behind all of that 3/4 council members act like they're powerless. If that's the case, why Joan even hides the fact that their community lives off of raiding other communities. Moreover, she is in charge in "diplomacy" with other communities which means that she has a right to do what she does and there's no point of making up this bs excuse. And this whole hanging David, making Javi choose who lives and etc made no sense, especially if all you did was kill Badger. Her justifying of murdering 2 innocent people, because I killed one makes no sense. So, all that makes me question why those 4 are in the council in the first place.
I get why Max doesn't just let Javier go, but what bothers me is why Javier acts so weird about it. I mean, I'm pretty sure you have much higher chance of survival if you just show your family and tell the truth. People have way more value being alive at that point, so I doubt that they would just kill them all for eating pudding. In hindsight, if they all would be taken to Richmond story would basically end there. That makes this whole thing an idiot plot.
I would understand communities falling better if TT actually made more effort by showcasing it. Like, communities are being talked about like big cities/strongholds and when they fall it always feels like a camp by a fireplace got destroyed.
Concept art says Pop. 123
David/Kenny thing is indeed sort of unrealistic, but if there are only like what 1-3% of people that were there before and if they both survived. I'm wondering if it's very unrealistic, especially if people start gathering into communities.
Well, maybe...but I'm not sold on that. Why would she be ambushing TNF's truck if she left TNF on a sort of a good note(determinantly)? Then, she helps out a guy that is clearly an enemy of TNF. Engages in shootouts with them and etc. Like, what for? For a car in order to crash in a tree like she did with Kenny(determinantly)?
Yeah, I don't think that S2 was ideal, but imo it's still way a head of ANF.

"He wanted to enforce authority through inciting fear and he was not hesitating to use violence in order to show that his word is everything."
How is this any different than what Joan is doing? Joan is making the community fear her by showing what happens to traitors.
Basically, the council may have worked at first, but everyone knows any kind of government becomes corrupt at some point. Joan made a power play and the other council members realized if they went against her, it would destroy the community and they would likely lose their spots as leaders. People do crazy things to stay in power.
It's not about the pudding. You have no idea who these people are. I would never just give up my family to complete strangers. And since these guys are New Frontier, they would probably keep you alive until they find your stuff and then kill you. That's what they do to everyone else.
Agreed, all Walking Dead communities I've seen in the games or TV sucked. I doubt they would all fall like that so quickly.
Interesting... That place did not look like it held 100 people. But maybe we didn't see the whole community.
It's only realistic if they find each other shortly after the outbreak (like Rick and his family in the show). After 4 years in a completely different area? Not gonna happen. But it's a game so it doesn't bother me TOO much.
Uhhhh, no... Clem most certainly did not leave them on good terms. No matter what happens after, Clem clearly hates them for taking AJ, even if she still is kinda friends with Ava.
But that doesn't really matter. All she saw was a vehicle. I don't think she knew it was New Frontier but I doubt she would really care anyway.
Technically, that didn't happen in my game, so maybe she is less afraid of that lol.
I'm not saying ANF is perfect. Far from it. But Season 2 was just a chore to get through a second time while I'm enjoying the alternate choices in ANF. We will see if Episode 5 continues that trend and has some different outcomes based on your choices. The final episode is going to be a determining factor for me because I see ANF as getting better while Season 2 got worse as it went on. As it stands right now I like:
Season 2: Episodes 1 & 2, parts of 3
ANF: Parts of Episode 1, 3, 4
So about even right now for me, but a whole episode to go and I like the direction that the game is moving towards. Episodes 3 & 4 were very good IMO.

True. But at least she actually did stuff, contributed to the story's progression, added something to the group's dynamic, and really meant something to a major character or two, unlike Tripp.
I know Christa blamed Clem for what happened to Omid and so them years together probably wasn't the best. But I completely agree, they spent so much time together and Clem doesn't even mention Christa apart from a few times in season 2 which some is optional to say, so they just got rid of Christa completely. I hope she makes a return somehow.

Well, she was one of the nicest and/or more decent members of the group at that point, acted as emotional support for Kenny and Rebecca, and she looked out for Clementine and Sarah when the others couldn't/wouldn't.
That's not a strength entirely for her character. Hell, half the characters in Season 2 were good Samaritans with no discernible turmoil's or baggage relative to their characters. And the ones that were, were well... asshole's like Nick and Kenny.
Besides, I'm sure Sarita has probably 2 pages of script total between all the episodes. She hardly did anything other than reaffirm her role as Kenny's "partner."

I like it more than previous seasons.
Because I am in love with Javi and I love the family dynamic.
Ok
So where do you rate it on gameplay, hubs, character development compared to the other seasons?
Oh, definitely!
Yes true.
Like about Kate's job and other stuff she liked to do other than smoking weed lol.
And its stuff like that which really lacked this season. We don't know anything about Conrad and Francine, or Tripp and Eleanor's lives before the apocalypse. I always liked to get backgrounds to the type of people we meet like those in Season 1.

Alright! Lol
I love this game.
More like the only reason Clementine and her side story is even included is to appeal to the old people.
Good thing it's not officially called Season 3, eh? Honestly, you could replace Clementine with another character and still get the same basic story except with a unified, more defined backstory.
WOW. Just wow. Touchy much? lmao
Pffff. Don't you know that you HAVE to dislike ANF or else you're just a blind sheep that accepts any bullshit given to you? Fuck you and your differing opinions that don't affect my life in the slightest. Everything including art is entirely objective and I'm not just saying that because I'm incredibly desperate for validation or anything. Listen to me. I'm so much better than you. /s
I never heard Tripp say you are the boss.
I guess because I never chose to kill Conrad.
I totally agree there!

That's a very long shot. Too long for me.
Eh...I disagree, but I think I see what you're getting at.
Now, that is very true, actually. Maybe that's why I feel like I want to appreciate her.
What's that? The army of martyrs suffering inhuman tortures and fighting for the right of expressing one's opinion?
You can like whatever you want. Just not child porn, it's wrong.
Tell me more than 2 things you know about Tripp.. He only exists because of Eleanor........and Eleanor only exists because of him. They have no arch or anything. They just exist because of each other.
Tell me one thing about Sarita that doesn't involve Kenny.
Sarita was merely a plot device anyway in Season 2 which was a bad season anyway. This one somehow is much worse.
