What are your [SPOILER-FREE] impressions of the finale?
For the people who have already played/seen Episode 5 (whether that be through YouTube or if it's already available if you live in say Aus/NZ etc), what did you think of the finale?
Was Javi and David's relationship and conflict treated well? What about Clementine's SL? Did your choices matter (for both the episode and the entire season)?

I just wanna know the episode length and then I'm going to hide in a dark cave.

Talking about choice impact I would agree with the description telltale released that this is probably their biggest episode in terms of choices
About episode 4 length
Mannnnnn all I could say is that I'm very impressed with this season finale, prepare for the multiple endings though! Well made there Telltale!
One of the ending, I admit, has the most powerful impact than the other endings, and I legit literally cried when I saw it.
That should've been the actual ending.
A terrible treatment of a once great game , cartoonish unrealistic
Insulting
After reading hints and impressions over the last few days, I thought the episode would be terrible. It had the usual bullshit moments, but overall it turned out to be not that bad. I'm still very concerned, since I saw the outcome I personally wish to get myself, but the choices that led to this outcome are completely different from what I will choose. So I'm prepared to not get the "happy end".
However, the last 2-3 minutes are garbage. Telltale should rename itself "Cashcow-milkers".
I agree, it should have been. But, if you saw what Telltale did in the official trailer, I think they wanted the other's death was meant to happen instead.
Like; Motorcycle scene, Kate's face in the keyart, Gabe yelling "Kate" in the trailer.

Don't get me wrong, I have actually enjoyed ANF but this episode just felt so rushed and so sloppy. The writing, treatment of characters, episode length and the small timeskip (like really?).
I guess the choices matter, there wasn't many important ones in the gameplay I watched. But choices nonetheless.
I know people are saying that TTG is just milking Clementine now and that they are forcing us to pay them more money just to continue with her story but shouldn't we all be happy? We've finally got our girl back, MAIN playable.
It felt a bit rushed with how conflicts were treated and/or resolved, but I will give them credit for making me care about Gabe in this episode. I will say, though, the rushed feeling, and the final scene, and the people that were ultimately missing from this episode made me feel like they either gave up on this season, or this was a mini-season stretched out to a full season, OR they have split a full season in half.
Overall, it was a mixed bag like the rest of the season, which makes it difficult for me to score it. I'd probably give it a 7/10 (average) with the caveat that it did have it's moments, and the branching was impressive.
Well, when the creators of a story refuse to conclude their plotlines properly and leave lots of loose ends on purpose, in order to force you to pay them more money... that's the biggest NO-GO when it comes to storytelling. If they add a concluding DLC or 6th episode for free, fine. But I won't pay another single cent.
I like how they let you choose about Gabentine.
Telltale finally listen to their fans, don't they? All fair for each one
wait- you can?? how does that go down?
They also made Gabe a lot more likeable throughout the episode.
I don't know
True that

And y'all thought that the season 2 endings and the Kenny/Jane flashbacks were bad. The finale takes it to an entirely new level.
Someone give me a yes or no answer and crush my dreams of Wellington actually being a cool ending.
Did Telltale forget about the hat?
Ehhh/10
Overall it was fine. There are different endings based on your choices. But, all the endings give me hope that we will be playing with Clem in the next season because after the credits we are told out right that Clem's story will continue.
Yes, even after stating that they did not forget about the hat.
The ending I got was pretty disappointing, not gonna lie. I'll play through another couples times to see some of the others. The post credit scene did give me hope though.
I don't know why I was expecting anything different. At least now I won't be looking for it.
Two words...
FUCKING PISSED!
Heck it was the last minutes that pissed me off...Telltale I swear!
Really digged it. Best episode of the season.
Awful. Just God awful. On every level.
I'm not sure if I care enough to make a spoiler thread explaining everything that's wrong here (disjointed characterization, choices meaning absolutely fucking zilch, situational non-awareness, just plain ol' bad writing), but even the animation starts shitting the bed near the end.
I liked some of it. It was much shorter than expected (About 1hour and 20 minutes for me), and it just felt like the conflict and resolution were... missing something. The second half really hooked me, but the first half took a while to get going in my opinion. In terms of quantity in determinant stuff, even if it's really minimal, there's quite a bit in this episode. In terms of quality that I experienced, ehh I found myself rolling my eyes a few times (which to be honest I haven't done much this season. I... partially enjoyed this season so far).
If I were good at rating things, I'd say maybe a 6.5 out of 10
There's not a single episode in Telltale's The Walking Dead that I can say I hate, not even Amid the Ruins, which is easily the most hated episode on the forums.
This episode changes that, this episode was poorly executed and ended the season in more than just a disappointing way and cheaply sets up a next season that, honestly, leaves me wondering if I will come back.
Which ending are you referring to?
Fucking horrible worst episode of the entire series to date
If that wasn't obvious to you, it is the ending where Gabe and David died. Gabe's death especially, was very well made imho.
Clearly it wasn't obvious to me, or I wouldn't have asked. Wasn't the ending I had, and I've also seen many people posting about how they thought that ending was awful and that both deaths were meaningless, so I didn't know that's how you interpreted that specific one.
Utter failure of a finale.
Great finale. Loved it. 8.5/10. Plenty of sad moments too, which is good. Much better than season 2's finale.
