I felt like I could've actually been part of the group, either as Lee or as myself.
Such a good game. Extremely easy and enjoyable to replay.
Loved S1. Super Iconic. I'll probably still want to replay it 10 years from now. Favorite memory with Lee has to be the drug store. The intro of some awesome characters, and Larry. Also, Lee finding out about his family. What I liked most has to be the farewell of Lee Everett. Such a bittersweet moment. RIP
SAME!! Exactly how I felt which is why i cared about the people in the game. Hell i even had a soft spot for the antagonists in the game more than anyone from Season 2 and 3
What did i like most? Absolutely everything. It was one of the mosy enjoyable game experiences i had ever had at the time. I had never played a choice based game before and i loved seeing the differences in relationship between Lee and Kenny/Lilly or Lee and Vernon/Brie. The thing i liked most was the character development of the characters and the Lee/Clem relationship.
Your guess is as good as mine as to why Telltale don't make their games like this anymore. Just lazy or forgotten how
Let me ask this, how many times have you played through S1?
Me myself, I'd say about 8 times, if watching friends play counts. If not, 5 times. And I would gladly replay it again. I also played many times through single episodes for meme purposes, when there was a rewind option. Yes TT I'm looking at you.
Favourite moment is probably Lee's Last Stand, but I adore everything from the soundtrack to Batman references.
Loved Season 1 to death. The characters are well developed, the choices were effective, the soundtracks, the gameplay etc. This is the game that made me cry the most and I watched a lot of youtubers playing it.
I barely think A New Frontier is an actual sequel.
I'm still waiting for season 3.
Favourite scene is episode 2 where the survivors are trapped in the meat locker. It's one of the hardest but most thrilling choices I've had to make. I liked both characters (Kenny and Lilly), but hardest part was deciding if Larry would potentially come back as a walker or not...
The next scene would be the ending, certainly made a few feels come out of me.
In retrospect, I actually find season 1 to be a fairly undercooked experience as a whole... It's a game that hasn't aged well.
Still, a serviceable entry more-or-less for what would become a ridiculous fad in gaming.
I wouldn't say a game didn't age well after GOTY 2012 awards it earned.
This is 2017.
I understand it won many awards, but wouldn't say it's still a game that holds the same caliber it once had 5 years ago.
Boi u said that u don't mention ANF unless somebody else does
You think?
The entire thread is based on season 1 so u didn't need to bring it up, it was briefly mentioned but wasn't made into a topic for discussion
About Season 1:
Season 1 will always be Telltales best game. Everything after it has just got worse and worse in terms of quality. The only thing TT have improved in their newer games is the glitches and lagging issues they had in Season 1
so you re saying both Wolf among us and Borderlands were bad?
Pedophilia, Danny, you sick fuck.
Episode 2. God, it was so good. So creepy. From the very moment you meet the farmers, you just know that something isn't right, but you can't quite tell what is it. But when you finally open that door with Mark behind it, that reveal is just perfect. Another very good part is when you have to choose who to feed. Not only does it provide you with a hard choice, it also allows you to expand relationships with different characters, and it also shows that the group is in fact starving, and the amount of food is very small.
Honorary mention: Kenny killing Larry with salt lick when you are trying to revive him is fucked up and beautiful at the same time.
What caliber? Tellatale games were never about graphics, and other than that it provides quality interactive movie/quest game experience. There really isn't much else you need in a game like this, in any year.
I loved the characters all the vibe of season 1, one of my favorite moments was when we first meet Clementine and I loved the Motor In group.
I'm so glad they didn't include his pedo tendencies in the final version of the episode. I hate pedo's more than anything
Wolfs first episode was ok and i definitely enjoyed it for it's gameplay and story but as each episode went on, for me it was declining and felt rushed. 2-5 were just over an hour long as i recall (sound familiar?), i know i completed episode 4 in an hour and 10 mins and i was very disappointed. You could already see that the way the episodes were being made that the hubs and gameplay was becoming more limited.
Borderlands i did love the humour, characters relationships and story and i liked how we could talk to characters and ask them questions etc. This was actually a game i did enjoy but again i didn't feel the episodes were long enough, there were still too many cutscenes. Hubs were ok but not as many as TWD S1. But that was all i can say bad about it really. It was a lot better than some of their other recent ones i'll admit that
Definitely! This is why Season 1 was so good! They put so much effort into every detail and developed characters perfectly. Why haven't we had anything like this game since 2012?
It was still mentioned, briefly or not.
Yeah, but knowing he is a pedophile is always at the back of your head when you're replaying S1. It's terrifying to see him being so close to Clem and Duck, not being able to do anything.
True
My favorite thing about season 1 is kind of hard to understand, but I hope someone gets it. I love the scene in Long Road Ahead where you meet Christa and Omid on the bridge. Lee, Clem, Christ and Omid look down on Lee's group, and all that's left of it is Kenny, Ben, and Charles. I felt so devastated. We felt so big in Starved For Help. It was at this moment that I realized Telltale was not screwing around.
Season 1 is one of those games that will be fun forever. No matter how bad the game look because the story and writing still holds up.
Bens death. Don't like that.
I really liked Season 1, lots of iconic characters, some difficult choices, I just wish they would update it and fix the bugs
Season 1 was great character wise, I just wish the series and episodes were a bit longer, maybe with a larger game world and more real choice, but I understand it would have made it more expensive but I would have paid for it, No question...
