Anyone has got some theories about it? I don't have any ideas what story is behind them to be honest. Also a good question is if Carol does have it as well?

It's to let you know that they're the badasses.
It's well known thing to every loyal The Walking Dead fan. Still, this season has bunch of mysteries. "A and B", " 'X' Scar", people who didn't read comic seem to believe that zombies started talking, Maggie and Michonne had a serious argument before Maggie left. It's gettin' interesting.
Daryl was abused by his dad. That's where his scars came from. Don't know about Maggie though.
Yeah, but we're talking about the "X" scar that he has on the bottom of his back. Same scar as Michonne. Didn't you notice it?
