As much as I am looking forward to the 2 new games they have announced, I can't help but raise an eyebrow considering the long, long wait for episode 2 of The Wolf Among Us. I really enjoyed the episodic format with The Walking Dead because you get to live with the game, the stories and the characters a lot longer that way and you can have all of these great debates on the forums about what you think is going to happen next. But 3 plus months in between episodes is just too long of a wait. I really, really hope that's not going to standard going forward.
“We wanted to thank everyone for playing the first chapter in The Wolf Among Us, and ask for your patience as the team works very hard this month to finalize what is shaping up to be another episode full of surprises. We’re anticipating another update on its ETA for release very soon after the holidays, and we couldn’t be more excited to continue this series with all of you.”
I'm sure they had initially decided to release the episode earlier but obviously they encountered a problem with it.I know this sounds crazy but others have said it here. What if the reason it was delayed is because they are re-writing some of the story because people on the forum have already found the killer? This could explain why they don't tell us the reason of the delay. And since they are still working on episodes 3 and 4 it wouldn't be too hard for them to change some things that they had already done.Or maybe they had new ideas and wanted to include them based on all the feedback they had on the forum. The fact that people discuss an episode after its release could be a way for them to change some things on future episodes.
Worse now brother.. I don't think there were any waits over 3 months with no clearly defined ETA.. Just an update, about an update, about an update the next day, that was an update about a possible ETA in the new year.. And that is all the contact we get from them.. Bullshnitz!
I'm not surprised. They were just as terrible at giving updates and providing a timely release with season 1 of TWD. Before TWD they were grea… moret at giving an episode a month and then it all went downhill. You'd think after that they would've gotten better again, but clearly not.
With 4 games the new standard wait time will be 6 months an episode.. Oh! And don't worry.. We can expect the same quality customer support and interaction Rofl-InAnger..

If episodic series are an act of trust, now i learn to not buy nothing until their final release: there're not pros for that, instead wait for… more a lower price and a complete game.
Sorry, Telltale: i give you so much trust, but you failed; no more episodic games at day one
it is very unlikely that TWAU chapter 2 will come out this year, but that is mainly because telltale have been working on TWD aswell, it looks like TWAU will be coming out in january next year, but if you are a true fan then you wont mind this wait because in the end it will be worth it,bit longer wait for them to make sure its all good, and give better quality game.
Seriously , you can't promise 4-6 weeks gap between episodes and make it freaking 12 weeks this is disrespectful to your paying customer * snip *
The games are awesome , even for us older guys , not to mention a very fair price for a 6-8 hours games , yet their customer service really needs to improve , along with not making promises that they can't keep if they want to join the big boys league (TWD was their great break through)

I don't think they "owe" an apology to anyone. It would just be good PR to do so. After all, they should care about what their customers expect from them, and they should do anything to keep them happy.
Right now I don't feel like buying another Telltale series until it's complete, as excited as I am about their new projects.
The problem with an apology is that they (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) never actually said the game would be releasing at month long … moreintervals. We just assumed they would because of telltale's past releases, which were still sporadic at times.
It's obvious with the VGX and TWD S2 that TWAU is (unfortunately) NOT telltale's major game series at the moment. And they are perfectly justified, business-wise, to be focusing on TWD, because S1 was named GOTY. I do wish they would give us more news, and of course I wish Episode 2 was out now. But I would also like if TellTale would do two series at one time, and have alternating months. The situation is what it is, and at this point complaining about it obviously isn't going to do anything.
saying that a peacefull message (from a user trying to understand the marketing strategy of telltale) is stupid is not very polite comming from a moderator...
I understand where you're coming from. But bringing piracy into your argumentation, on an official forum?! That's an absurd no-go, as you are well aware. There's a no tolerance policy in place for that here. Better to warn in time with a bit of spunk than having to ban someone who should have known better.

I found a message hinting at piracy a few days ago some pages back, did you edit that to?
Not sure, but probably yes. Every moderator here acts immediately upon finding such messages, and retracing your steps on this new forum is a bit more difficult than in the vbulletin.
Yes. It is absolutly not something to talk about on TTGs very own forum.

I noticed a comment that said something about frustrations, not paying for anything anymore.. Finding other means, etc.. Didn't even directly mention piracy at all, and it could of been argued that it was not even what they meant. One of the moderators just banned the person without a warning, or an edit. So this guy up there was obviously lucky.
I didn't see Rz's original comment, but yeah.. Lucky I take it.
Considering how everything has been handled during this period.. I feel the 'bitchin' is more then warranted.
For if it wasn't.. There wouldn't be any.
As one of the moderators put it.. "justified frustration and anger".
I find it almost suspicious how blindly some people seem to support everything telltale does.. It is almost like they believe telltale poops rainbows and can do no wrong.. Obviously this is not the case.. But have fun with that..
Well i've been banned without any warning for it and franckly that wasn"t cool we are waiting an i was (really polilty) trying to raise the debate, because it goes round and round for 25 pages!
The most anoying is that when banned you cannot change your password no more

Personnaly i bought them wallace and gromit tales of monkey island the 2 TWD and TWAU and even if i loveee their games i found that the communication in not decent at all. BUT they're one of those rare studios that keep on with point and click and even improve the gender. Buying is my way to support this particular gender but i HAVE to say that their way to handle thing is dangerous, when people would start to feel like they've been ripped of too much, they might ... well the following of my argumentation will be censored so i won't even write it...

To conclude maybe some messages don't have they're place on this forum BUT you know what would have it's place on this website? Updates, informations, appologies for the delay, courtesy...etc
Didn't even directly mention piracy at all, and it could of been argued that it was not even what they meant.
Actually most of these comments are clear cut cases, and particularly those people who are trying to break their tongue in their oh so skillful suggestion of acquiring the game 'by other means' are those I have no trouble temporarily yanking out without warning. Those people know very well what they're doing wrong.
Well i've been banned without any warning for it and franckly that wasn"t cool
Checked that just now and... sorry, absolutely clear cut case there, very explicit willingness to go the p-route, doesn't matter if it was "just" Telltale's competitors you were talking about... we have no choice there, that is more than enough for a timeout. We made extra sure that the forum guidelines (§2.4) are VERY explicit in that respect.
Not being able to change one's password when banned however, that's a security issue I'll raise behind the scenes. This should be possible.

With all the fuss, while you have the right to wonder when the next episode will be released (if anything, I think it'll be in the first few days of January, so about two and a half months it would have taken, factor in the holiday and yeah . . .), I just wanted to make a quick note that Telltale's not actually promised to deliver episodes every 1 - 2 months, unless they did and the faq has changed for The Wolf Among Us. The current one gives no release schedule anyway.
The store page on Steam specifically states that the episodes will be released periodically until Summer 2014. So, don't expect the series to be complete before June.
I know they made the promise to deliver The Walking Dead and other series within one - two months though? So, I realise it's a change, but I think people need to take a few steps back here and think about things rationally while having faith they'll deliver the rest of the episodes and that they won't be massively delayed. With previously doing some digging and looking at The Walking Dead episode release dates, I know they could take around 2 months to release as well. (It's only 2 months since TWAU: Episode 1 on around the 11th of December) Actually, it seems like it was only The Walking Dead: Episode 2 that took 2 months or so to release, with episode 1 being released on the 24th of April and episode 2 released on the 27th of June. So, factor in delays because of christmas this time around, and I wouldn't say they're drastically behind schedule.
I realise this probably won't be well-liked either, but . . .
Maybe I didn't understand right but telltale says on twitter that no game will be released next week. That would mean that everything will be r… moreeleased in December.I think it's nice of them to let us know instead of letting us hope in vain but the wait is becoming harder day by day for me because I really expected a release of episode 2 next week.I think that I will wait until all episodes are out to play this game because I don't really like episodic games.
It's annoying but hardly unheard of in terms of their history for there to be a delay of sorts between episode 1 and 2. I mean, they've shown us pictures so we know it exists and they haven't refunded us so we know it's still coming. It seems likely that the holidays plus the launch of walking dead season 2 has shuffled things around a bit.
It's perfectly feasible that once Walking dead launches we'll be looking at wolf one month and walking dead the other until mid to late summer, which would clear the slate for them to gear up for a christmas 2014 launch of game of thrones and borderlands.

So basically: Ep.2 was supposed to be out by Dec11, but since Christmas unexpectedly popped out a couple of weeks later they had to act in advance and postpone it by another month.
Makes sense.

I completely understand that things pop up while making games and shit happens including delays, etc. The major issue for me is simply communication (or lack of it). I preordered Watchdogs and pretty close to launch that was delayed,of course I was dissapointed because I was looking forward to it but I was not angry at all because when I heard about the delay I also heard from the company that after alot of thought they decided it was best to delay the game a few months because they thought they could make what looks like a great game even better, and they apologized especially because they know it was getting close to release day. That was all it took! I didn't need all the details and stuff just to hear "hey we needed a little more time to make the game as great as possible, sorry". A few words can go a long way.
Maybe time to remind people in what year The Wolf among Us was ORIGINALLY meant to release...
They're finishing what they have on the plate right now before they're off to new shores, I'm sure of it. ESPECIALLY TWaU of course.
Hello all
To be honest i dont buy games that require me to pay before i have them in fact generally its not a good idea to prepay unless you really trust someone\company.
Personally i think people have bankrolled (just think of all the interest they are earning from presales) the future products of tell tale games. That is a best case scenario, worst case scenario is that they close there doors and everybody looses there money :-(
