i found episode four to be my favorite haha. it was just so fun getting with the group to break into a "utopian" society only to find out something went really wrong and it's time to break out and escape! also molly was a super sweet character:)
My order is 3>2>4>5>1 episode three had the most impact for me on the experience and although I liked episode five it was too short, and too predictable. I'll admit Lee's rampage was probably the most awesome sequence I have ever played and the ending was very emotional there just wasn't much story and frankly the reveal of who took Clem was a let down and completely unbelievable.
Episode 1 i thought was a perfect set up of the series, you got too see Lee and Clems really awkward conversations at the start and by the end you could see the bond growing. The other characters were introduced and you could pretty much decide who you were gonna like (Carley/Doug) and who you were going to hate (Larry). I think this episode is really underrated, after all it is the reason everyone continued to buy and play the season.
Episode 2 I personally thought was the most fun to play, and the one which i've probably played the most. I loved the St. Johns plot and thought it was genius, but i also really liked how you could see relationships you made in the first ep. had developed in the 3 months that had past.
Episode 3 i found to be my least fav, maybe because of the sheer fact that the group went down to so little in such a short amount of time. Eventhough it was to be expected, being the mid point of the season and all, but that doesn't mean you have to enjoy seeing your friends die! and where do i start with carley no, i won't even go there actually!
Episode 4 i thought was a really good set up to the finale, but as a stand alone episode i wasn't the best, dont get me wrong i didnt dislike it, neither did i dislike ep 3 for that matter, but they just weren't hitting the heights of 2 and 5. I really liked molly as a character and was gutted she didn't make another appearance, especially after reading that she was confirmed to be in ep 5 :S
Episode 5....... wow, where to start, i dont even know how to explain this. end scene was the most powerful thing i think i have ever experienced, the way you can see how desperate clem is to not give up on you, when she says "you can lean on me if you want" i choked up and the tears started to flow, shes just so ADORABLE!! the ending i thought was perfectly written and beautifully preformed, and a fitting end for season 1.

I thought it was an excellent plot twist and everyone I've seen so far never saw it coming. Different strokes.
I think people liked episode 2 a lot because it's more like a movie than the others. It has a main antagonist rather than just the general walker threat, a build up, a climax, etc.
3 and 5 are very close, I enjoyed the emotional moments, it's not often a game does that to you. 2 was pretty good, with the farm ending being a very powerful moment. 1 was alright, having to rekill Lee's zombified brother was the high point for me. 4 was kinda meh, it didn't really have anything memorable aside from the leadup to episode 5.
They were all very good though. I liked 3 the best just because it had such a huge impact of emotional moments, all the things we knew before weren't the same anymore.
I don't dislike it, as it were, I just like the others far more.
And it's a pacing/lack of zed issue.
Interesting concept, but seemed out of place to me.
Upon reflection, it would have worked far better as episode 3 (of 6) and TTG showing us some of that three month gap as an episode 2.
I agree that it had the slowest pacing of them all, which made me be less into it. But at the same time, as the episode progressed I found that the slow pace built a tension. Someone in this thread said they found episode 2 to be predictable. I knew that something was up and that whatever it was was going to put the group in danger, but I was still shocked when I found Mark...well, you know. That didn't occur to me at all. But you're also right about the lack of zombies (I assume that's what you mean by zed, anyway; are you from the UK?).
For me it went 3, 5, 2, 4, 1. 4 had so much potential, but I needed more of a backstory with Crawford. It's such a huge thing and we only get small details that we have to use to piece together a much larger story. I had hoped to have to confront some of those inside instead of having everyone be a walker. Best thing would have been to come across Crawford while it was in the throes of survivors vs. walkers that we only see the before/after of.
I think Episode 2 was the best overall. Episode 5 was a great finale, but that doesn't instantly make it the best episode.
Yeah and I agree on the Crawford part about Episode 4, I think it would have been better if the survivors were alive. I like the story of Crawford as it is, but it's not that great when you find out everyone is dead.
Three was just gut wrenching and the most emotional episode for me. Shock and sadness hit me right in my feels. Closely followed by five. In fact the standard is pretty constant at least up til 4, which was a dissapointment.
I am absolutely astonished by these results. 5 was clearly the worst imo. You just held down the walk forward button and chose dialogue options that ultimately made no difference.
3 was the one that made me cry, but 2 was excellently crafted. It's a close tie between those two, with 1 not far behind.
Five for the ending, two for its excellent constant atmosphere and finale, 3 for the emotional rollercoaster, 1 for introducing us to things nicely and 4 because it felt like a filler episode and Crawford was wasted potential.
My favorite of Season 1 goes to: Episode 2 STARVED FOR HELP, because it further pushed you into the world of the Walking Dead and it also tested your character and morals, who were your friends, how to play peacekeeper. This episode revealed a players true colors when the s%3t hits the fan.
Second place goes to the first A NEW DAY. Intro'd us to this bleak, corpse ridden world and made us reveal our intentions of what would we do in Lee's shoes? Little Clementine came into our care and melted some of our hardened hearts. Things were so simpler when it begins...always is.
Taking home the bronze is Ep 4 AROUND EVERY CORNER. I love and hate this episode
Hate - Chuck's demise and Lee getting bit.
The pro's outweigh it though, especially the plan to sneak into Crawford to raid undetected. Plus, the kickass Molly ;-) and The characters lending their support for survival. Good overall.
1 was great as an intro episode, but doesn't really go far on it's own merits. It DID introduce us to the difficult moral choices, but it was a fantastic introduction to the series.
2 and 3 tie as my favorites, shocking, and they created the 'adventure' feel, who could forget Mark?
5 just after these two, brilliant wrap up, I'll never forget Lee's heartfelt goobyes in that dark jewelry store.
4 may have been one of the longer episodes, but it lacked the emotional punch the other episodes did, other than the rage we felt at Ben when he moved that friggin hatchet. Did have some moments though, like Molly's secret and I liked that this was miss-able. (though it was pretty easy to notice.)
3 - because character development between Lee and Clem.
5 - because Epic ending, tears inc.
2 - because very dark, sinister and exciting
1 - because beginnings, original group
4 - because filler-like episode, crawford sort of boring and too long, for my taste at least.
1. ep.2 - Best storyline. Best new characters. Best epic moments. Excellent disclosure of all of the characters. Awesome music. Best ending.
2. ep.1 - New emotions. Metting with characters. Good storyline.
3. ep.3 - Charismatic and interesting new characters (Omid and Christa). Not bad storyline. Stupid actions of most of characters.
4. ep.4 - Awesome music. Boring storyline. The most dumb behavior of characters. Boring and not interesting new characters (all of them).
5. ep.5 - Few epic moments. Good ending, but very obviously. Awesome music. Stupid death scene of characters. Dumb actions of protagonist. Worst disclosure of character of main antagonist ever. Worst fate of main antagonist ever. Not interesting last choice.
My favourite episode was "new day". It was flawless. Pacing, voice acting, music was all on point. It had everything. It had hope, fear of the unknown and captured the feel of the comics perfectly.
The second episode was my second favourite but it felt more "gamey" and was more about shock effect. The inclusion of canibalism was far too soon. It was only about 3 months in the apocalypse, people would have been able to loot food from stores long after the 3 month mark in the comics. In the comics the canibal plot happened around the 1 year mark, after Rick had left the prison.
"Starved for help" would have been better placed in season 2 in my opinion. Come to think of it even in season 2 at Carver's base they were eating packaged foods. Not a canibal in sight.
Episode 3 made the mistake of killing off half of the cast and introducing less likeable replacements. In 3 months Kat,Carly, duck die and Lilly leaves the group and this happens in less than a day of them leaving their safe haven. In the comics Rick's crew lasted months on the road, roughing it, living in Dale's motor home. Kirkman understood that the more readers get to see the main characters the bigger the impact when they die. By the end of "Long road ahead" I expected everyone to die and became desensitised. Gone was the shock because of the rate telltale were killing of the cast. 3 days after leaving the motor inn Clementine is all alone, which pretty sums up my feelings about episode 4 and 5. New day was telltale's best work in my opinion, oh yeah and episode 1 had no bugs or glitches. Their only well made walking dead episode.
If we are all honest, we endured the bugs and glitches through the rest of the series and excused the dodgey and dated game engine because of how invested we were in the game's story because episode 1 was done so well, well enough for us to care about the characters. Thankfully it is now free to download at the App Store. To this day episode 1 is the only episode I revisit. I'll watch the Michonne game on YouTube. After playing GOT I decided I wouldn't pay for anymore of their broken games since it's the story we buy the games for anyway and not the gameplay.
Spoilers ahead!

The last time I cried playing a video game was the first time I played FF7 and that was what 13 or so years ago!
Gotta agree with the norm Episode 5 was my fave closely followed by 2 and 3, I like 3 because of the deaths...I'm sadistic I know! Lol

While I list episode 5 last, I did enjoy it, but it was far and away the shortest episode.
They were all very good though. I liked 3 the best just because it had such a huge impact of emotional moments, all the things we knew before weren't the same anymore.
I really enjoyed every episode, though I do enjoy some way more than others.

After that probably Episode 5 since it was a sad moment in so many ways.

5-awesome ending!
2-shocking cannibal thriller!
3-:'( sad! Deaths! Shocks! Aaaah!
4-setup for best episode! Awesome ending!
1-amazing setup for amazing season!
Five for the ending, two for its excellent constant atmosphere and finale, 3 for the emotional rollercoaster, 1 for introducing us to things nicely and 4 because it felt like a filler episode and Crawford was wasted potential.
From favorite to least (but I enjoyed them all) 2 - 5 - 4 - 3 & 1 (tied)

I don't really have a least favorite, though... 1 started slowly but for obvious reasons.
I'd probably say I like 2 just a bit more because 3 is so depressing. If 5 was a bit longer it would be better than 4. But I love them all.
5 was disappointing, 1 and 4 were ok.
Why do so many people like episode 2 that is my least fav i have to force my self through it its boring and i can play all others easily.
Because it was one of the most tense and shocking.
I personally like 3 the best. The only one that's a chore for me is Crawford in 4.
I liked all of them. It's hard to order them.

I liked Starved For Help the first time but it's so boring to replay. Long Road Ahead on the other hand...
