I never had an issue with how Kenny was written, I just believe that he is biggest asshole in the series. But poorly written...no.
Now as far as Jane...I liked her...but thought she would have been better if it had been Molly. Same character but we would have more back story on her and had more time to form an attachment. Would have loved to see Molly plant that ice axe in Kenny's head.
Kenny has his moments where he shines during tough moments when everyone else is in doubt; but his attitude changes if he gets a whiff of an… moreyone not being totally loyal to him. He has lost a lot in S1 and S2 and I can understand his hair-trigger temper; but his fight with Jane, even though she provoked it to prove a point, was bound to happen if not this time probably much later with someone else or even an older Clem later on in the series. Just a thought though.
Bravo. :claps: Great comeback. Especially because it doesn't even make any sense.
If Kenny hadn't been such a fucking idiotic violent agg… moreressive stubborn asshole Jane would've never felt the need to hide the baby. And again, if the game actually gave me the option to agree with Jane and leave with her, she would've never felt the need to hide the baby.
So basically what you're saying is
I think Kenny had some good leadership skills
you thought, "Kenny was a good leader..."
… more he let his temper get the best of him.
Lee was able to keep a cool head when things were hot. That is an ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL quality for a good leader. If you can't keep a cool head when things are tough, then it doesn't matter how good your skills are as a leader, as your anger will not only cloud your judgement, but it will also make you seem wild, reckless, and therefore untrustworthy.
"...except no he wasn't."
Lol but no, I'm just playin'. I also agree he was not a good leader.
I hope this doesn't get into a big ol' discussion, because I have things to do, and I really can't stand the look of that red text (no offen… morese if you don't know how to turn it off or whatever.) But anyway, I'm here to pick apart your imo frankly bad argument. ^_^
When a decisive/direct Man from the South speaks with the tone of confidence about what the right and wrong things to do are, he would appear to be a figure of authority.
The problem with Kenny though is he believes that whatever he says is the right thing to do; to him whatever he wants is automatically always the "best" and "right" thing, and anyone disagreeing with him is absolutely wrong all the time. Frankly he doesn't consider anyone else's perspective when it would really count, and thus he looks like a childish moron (and he is.) E.g. when he is arguing to look for Wellington, if you side with Jane on going to Howe's, this is what happens:

So you list Kenny's good deeds but then choose to only list Jane's bad deeds, think your comment is fairly biased wouldn't you agree? Don't … moreyou remember when Jane rushes to pull Clem out of the ice, helps Rebecca and Clem get out of the herd, saves Kenny's ass at the start of episode 5 and possibly the whole group along with that kill.
someone can't really get the full experience or really understand the series if they don't appreciate Kenny's character.
This is bor… morederline insulting, you realize?
If you're implying that people who simply have a different opinion of a character than you understand the series less than you, then frankly you're being unnecessarily rude.
Kenny critics/haters/whatever you want to call us understand his character--and we understand the season--perfectly fine. We've witnessed every one of his actions from the very beginning of the series, and personally I've judged him on every single action he makes in every single playthrough, not just one. I thought he was an interesting enough character in Season 1, and I believe his arc wrapped up nicely at the end of it. However bringing him back for Season 2 was just the biggest mistake of the season.
You can think he's an "interesting" character if you want, but frankly to me, "interesting… [view original content]
As a White Guy, I've now played life as a Black Man, Little Spanish Girl
Wait, do you think Clem is a "little Spanish girl"? You rea… morelize she's African American right? (That's been confirmed by the makers of the game.)
...Damn is your comment ironic.
That could be a factor but I'm not too sure, Kenny showed he had a short temper since Season One and his lack of remorse is evident in Season One as well - although it was mostly a lack of remorse for people dying who did something bad to him or his family.
Kenny was pretty poorly written in season 2. No use for someone that literally repeats his entire arc from season 1. He couldn't be much more predictable.

The game is racist by the simple fact that the protagonist is not white? wtf? Going with your logic movies like Harry Potter or games like Portal 2 are also racist .-. ; You should just stop worrying about that and move on with your life, no matter wich colour is the protagonist
I fineshed my first game as killing kenny and forgiving Jane; Now i'm playing a new one with almost 90% of the choices different from the first one so when season 3 releases I can see more than one end :P
Prior to episode 3 in s2 i don't think he would have focused solely on that one walker in episode 4 repeatedly hitting it, been so aggressive to Clem and threatened to kill others like Arvo, and smashed in Carver's face as much as he did. Even if Carver did brutally beat him, causing the loss of an eye, i don't think even someone who lost their family would be that savage unless there was some brain damage and Kenny's personality in season 1 wasn't that brutal.
There might be some more questionable things he did after episode 3, I haven't played season 2 in ages.

Completely disagree but that's to be expected. I think Kenny's a very well written character. Everyone can't stop talking about him whether … moregood or bad. Everyone (90% i'd say) hate/dislike him on these forums but there are a lot that still like him elsewhere
Eh, not in my opinion. She was kind of just replacement Molly to me. With Kenny I knew exactly where he was coming from when he acted like an asshole, but Jane was just seemed some loner chick with trust issues and a tendency to leave people behind.
But, I mean, having witnessed Kenny's downward spiral has predisposed me to liking him.
In my opinion, the biggest asshole in the series was Larry. That guy was such an unforgiving bastard. At least with Kenny I could see glimpses of genuine regret when he felt like he fucked up.

I truly don't understand what people mean by Jane being a 'replacement Molly', in order to be a replacement, she'd have to take Molly's place - Molly only appeared in Episode 4 of The Walking Dead Game: Season One, mainly for the whole Crawford Subplot. I think the biggest thing about how some people feel about Kenny in comparison to Jane is that they can usually understand where Kenny comes from when does questionable things because we've seen what he's been through, we've seen his character develop over the course of almost a whole 2 Seasons(technically in-game several months), whereas with Jane, we know very little of her background and story, we haven't seen Jane go through any of her struggles before meeting Clementine.
A better character?

I stayed at Wellington and he walked away. I think he was the one that left.
Not that I'm salty or anything, I still think Kenny's great and that might have been the most selfless thing anyone's done in the series, at least besides Lee.
Alright, maybe calling her 'replacement Molly' is a bit of disservice to her character, I'll admit that, but, I don't know, I just couldn't find myself liking her. I guess it's that she just felt like a stranger to me the entire time where as I already knew everything about Kenny. From my point of view, Clementine was the closest thing to a family Kenny had left, so I figured I could absolutely trust him to not hurt or leave Clementine for dead no matter what.

Just that in my game Clem and Kenny's friendship ended at Wellington when he left. He may have been forced to for AJ and Clem's well-being, but he still left.
I'm not saying it makes him a bad person. On the contrary I think it proves how selfless he really is.
i don't think even someone who lost their family would be that savage unless there was some brain damage
Why not? I think Kenny losing his family is precisely what caused him to become so violent and irrational, as there's no one he has to show a morally-acceptable behavior.

Yes DarkViolet because there are more Jane fans here
That's because she's a better character than anyone else in this game.

Disagree but that of course is your opinion
?SageTheNoneDead dislikes that
The short temper and lack of remorse could also be partly due to frontal lobe damage from Carver. I think the writers were wanting us to suspect that.
(?) Lee is getting sick of your shit!
?SageTheNoneDead is getting sick of yours too!
Let me know where your BABY is so I can hide it from you

She kidnapped a CHILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DON'T GET A "CHANCE" AFTER THAT
THIS ENTIRE BLOG ALREADY ONLY LISTS KENNY'S BAD DEEDS. I THOUGHT IT WAS OBVIOUSLY OVERSTATED AND NEED NOT BE PART OF MY THOUGHTS.

I fucking love Kenny. Dude's my home boy. Although, I kinda played the game with a "don't betray the original group" mindset.

I could've
But I didn't
What????

This is Clementine having an internal struggle at Wellington, everyone!
Yeah I realize I may have worded it wrong
Yeah , but we only had to put up with his shit for two episodes.
Well fair enough, Jane was a stranger, at least technically, the group only got to know her for like 2 or 3 days, 4 or 5 tops.
(I am so late on this)
Someone said Clem was Indian, too.
