People hate Kenny but.........
they want to be able to act like him through Clementine. What's most funny is a lot of the people who hate him, say they would like for Clementine to be able to say this, or do that. This, and that usually involve yelling, and cussing (at Kenny) or to be pretty violent. Just something I have noticed over the months, and months of lurking here.

oh my god let people dislike a character
Clementine's available options comes nothing close to how Kenny acts. Enough of this shit.
This guy gets it.
Can we just agree to dislike a character without arguing over whether we're right or wrong for not liking that character?
My thoughts exactly.
Everyone here knows I like Kenny and always will but yeah i respect people's opinions on when they don't like him or another character that they don't like. I will however state my opinions on why i disagree with him or her's opinions on a character
I don't really understand what you're trying to say?
I respect everyone's opinion but here's what I don't understand. People can hate on Kenny all they want and you'll get a small amount of people arguing with you. BUT, you hate Clementine and make a thread, you'll will get destroyed with The clem army raging at you. Don't believe me? Look at the likes when someone defends Clementine, way more thumbs up then any other character being defended. I personally dislike Clementine, I find her boring, annoying, worthless, overrated. I wish she had died instead of Lee because she ruined half of season two. People want to say Kenny ruined season two for getting too much screen time. Well, before he came a long half way through of episode 2, Clementine was hogging the spotlight. Even when Lee was the playable character in season one, we at least got a chance to let the supporting characters grow, season two's cabin group got barely any chance because it was so fixated on clementine "evolving". That's the cold truth and my opinion on how I feel about Clementine. INB4 Clem Army become hypocrites and abuse me.
Thats not the same thing. Clementine was meant to be the focus of season two. They led up to it way before the season came out. If you dont like her, thats unfortunate, but you had to know what to expect.
I really wish people stopped ending their posts with "waiting for so and so is going to abuse me". Youre just inviting trouble.
Lee was the main focus of season one, but season one was more shared then season two.
Why is it unfortunate if I don't like her? Just because a lot of people like her, is it wrong it someone doesn't?
I expected the same as season one, Clementine like Lee, playable character but the new group to have a chance to be developed like season one and all we got was Clementine overshadowing everyone.
Even if I didn't "encourage" trouble, I would still be lectured and abused which makes your point invalid. And I was right, more people liking your comment ONLY because you're defending The screw up princess.
Who cares if people hate Kenny, just let them hate him.
I don't want this to turn into the time where to many threads was open about Clementine and why people should like her.
What?
they have valid reasons
i like Kenny and Clem.
Season 2 was down to bad writing and i hate to say that. They didn't develop the characters well at all and i don't think they should have killed off every single character (not including Clem, Kenny or Jane).
Mike and Arvo survive?
can't we just hate a fictional character
we've got our reasons
and it's just an opinion
you're welcome to hate jane if we hate kenny
too sick of it to use proper grammar on this thread
Lol. I think you're misinterpreting and misunderstanding what we're saying. I do not want Clementine to act like Kenny, and I never will. When I say that I wish I could tell Kenny how stupid his plans are as Clementine, I'm saying I wish I could call Kenny out on his idiocy and his hypocrisy, as no character in the entire game is able to do so in an intelligent and persuasive manner (except for perhaps Lee.) That does not equate to "I would act like Kenny to stop Kenny," as I wouldn't resort to violence to try to persuade him, while Kenny would in fact resort to violence.
I do not condone of violence against Kenny. The only choice in which I was forced to make this decision (as the game did in fact force me) was the "Shoot Kenny" or "Look Away" ultimatum. For me, this was really more "Do you choose Kenny?" or "Do you choose not-Kenny?" And you're damn right I'm going to opt for the "not-Kenny" choice if the game is forcing me to choose.
Um.... WHAT
Its unfortunate that you didnt like the season. You can dislike the character all you want, but if you hated her that much and knew she was going to be the focus of it, it really didnt stand a chance.
All those people that you mentioned who didnt get enough development dont have Clementine to blame for that. IMO, and yes, I have stated this many times, it was the focus on retelling Kenny's story that gave the other characters the short shrift. I felt like Clementine wasnt even the star of her own season. She shared that title with Kenny. Youre point about Luke, I dont even get. Are you saying there's too much focus on him?
How is my point invalid? If you ask for hate, you get it. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy when you put some kind of armor up and challenge people to abuse you, which from what I see, hasnt even happened. So maybe I was wrong. The posters arent interested in attacking you today.
How is my point invalid
Sorry i meant as in dismiss all characters, dead or unknown statuses
I like Kenny. Guess Im not people. : (
I love Kenny. XD I don't mind people hating him as long as they stay respectful. To each their own.
Pfft, what? Hate Kenny? Are those two words really in the same sentence? I luv Kenny, even tho he is crazy, I like him and Arvo deserved that beating.
I can't speak for anyone else who doesn't like Kenny , but I personally had Clem acting nothing like him.
As much as I despise Arvo , beating him to a pulp didn't solve anything. It just made everything worse. And Kenny can't keep his mouth shut.
Exactly, that's why I listed only a few notable things. Because really, how are we supposed to list the same as season one when season twos characters never had a chance. They say Kenny got too much effort, so did Clementine. Lee got a lot but at least the other characters had a chance to be developed unlike season two's characters.
Don't put words in my mouth. I never said "HATE". I pointed out the flaws which is a lot in season two wouldn't you agree compared to season one? I played season two, but I wasn't as excited as I was like season one. I was hoping for how the new characters would develop and if Kenny returned. I could care less about Clementine.
I'm not denying Kenny didn't contribute to the season two characters lack of development, but so did Clementine. If you compare season one to Season two's first episode, season one's characters developed almost every character to get a sense how they were like and acted, in season two, we barely got any and one of the main ones (Pete) was killed off in the first episode and has hardly any screen time if you saved him in episode 2. It takes over a quarter of the episode to met the cabin group, then almost another quarter is clementine just trying to find supplies for her arm. If you get technical, the whole cabin group has less then 30 minutes on time to develop. It was an episode merely on adapting to playing as clementine and feeling sorry for her. That's the difference between S1 and S2, Lee was never overshadowing the other characters unlike Clementine.
No, my Luke point was that when S2 was coming out, the majority of comments about Luke was because he was "cute". Must've done a good model job if a lot of teenage girls fangirled over a animated character.
You said if you put up the "waiting to abuse me" you're asking for trouble, I responded that if I didn't say that, you'd still comment, and people would still have a go at me, so yes it is invalid because it wouldn't of made a difference when it comes to Clementine. No, but they have proved me right when I said they would thumb up someone who is defending her. So thank you to those people who voted your comments up that proved me right.
Can we just admit that both Jane and Kenny were completely off their fucking rocker and are both a horrible danger to Clementine?
We got Molly wanna be over here, antagonizing the mentally disturbed man and convincing him that you got a baby killed, that he JUST got really attached to,and starting to help him calm down, just so she can prove a point to the fucking 11 year old...
And we got Big Boss over there who can't keep his freaking temper in check, and is lashing out and punching Russian Harry Potter (whether or not he deserved it is a whole different story) and acting like the opinion of this 11 year old is paramount to how everyone else feels.
I agree with the second part of your comment.
Funny how often those two phrases are put together. "I like Kenny" and "Arvo deserved that beating".
Best description award.
Yup. You know what I often see together?
"I'm a very forgiving and empathetic person; that's why I forgive and empathize with Kenny when a lot of others don't. [one second later] But fuck Arvo, Jane, Bonnie, and Mike. They don't deserve forgiveness or empathy. Kenny is worthy of redemption, and can be forgiven, but any other character? No fucking way."
You'd think if people were so "forgiving" and "empathetic" that they'd be able to see the perspective of all characters, and that they'd be able to forgive any character. But they're not really "forgiving" or "empathetic;" they're just biased towards Kenny.
The only reason why Kenny is so popular is because of his facial hair/macho guy persona. That's why. He tries to lead 99.999% of the time, and has a long beard. The rest, people don't care.
For me, Kenny would've been perfect in my eyes if he had stayed dead in season 1 as it was intended.
I mean seriously, Kenny commits suicide, or sacrifices his life for Christa, after failing to protect his family. That was a perfect ending for him. Making peace
and dying along with the kid that got his family killed. That was perfect. But, they just had to ruin it
Season 1 is the story of Lee Everett guiding Clementine through the Zombie Apocalypse
Season 2 is Clementine, looking out for her mentally ill friend... who's relationship with him is completely based on your choices in season 1.
Kenny was shoved down's people throat in season 2. Others accepted it, others, like me, threw it back up. Jane didn't need to make that questionable plan to convince me. I was already convinced! There's really no option for people who were already opposed to Kenny. We were forced to partake in that horrible plan of Jane just so she could have something negative about her for the sake of "no wrong ending". I mean, just look at the endings to see how incredibly biased it was
Kenny convinces Clementine to stay ... at that snowy place. I forgot the name already (emotional)
Clementine turns down the offer and leaves ... that snowy place with Kenny (emotional)
Clementine shoots Kenny and leaves Jane behind for deceiving her.
Clementine lets Kenny kill Jane and Clem reluctantly leaves Kenny behind. Notice how can say "you're fucking crazy to Jane",but not to Kenny.
Clementine forgives Jane for deceiving her and goes back to Carver's warehouse
and then the other out of character ending.
I'm still buying season 3 because Kenny isn't making a come back. Sure, Jane will die, but at least Kenny is dead at last.
Looks like you got fried. I'll put the grill away bruh
Well, Kenny was one of my favorite characters in the first season, however, season two is something else. Just like most people here said. After second episode we became Kenny's moral support and it doesn't matter if you hate him or don't want to talk to him or help him. He stole all the character development from the characters that were with Clem through the season. We don't even know Mike's story, how are 400 days cast doing in Howe's, did Carver raped Rebecca or did she had an affair, who's George etc, etc. As much as I hate to say it, I would have liked better if Kenny died in the alleyway or saving Christa rather than fighting some ableist woman who caused the shootout and dying because he was shot because Jane toyed with his broken mind. Don't get me wrong, I love Kenny, but I don't like how he instantly became deuteragonist the second he appeared on screen.
Seriously, that would've literally been an amazing ending for Kenny.
Kenny committing suicide after failing to save his family, and ends the suffering of the kid who got his family killed.
Kenny doesn't commit suicide if it's with Ben -- he shoots Ben because Ben's biggest fear was being killed by walkers. But yeah, I agree with your points.
