I hate Kenny, and I stand by my opinion. In Season 1, he is a whiny little shit whenever you don't side with him, and he will always hold stuff above your head. Not to mention his hypocrisy. In Episode 2, he kills Larry (who might not have been dead in the first place) just so he won't turn, but when Duck gets bitten, he goes into major denial and denies any chance of Duck turning, saying stuff like, 'he'll be fine' and 'we don't know shit.' In Season 2, you can see how angry and flat-out mean he is. He, just like in Season 1, will get mad at the player if you don't side with him, has very creepy mannerisms with the baby, and turns out to be very unstable. His treatment towards Arvo was disgusting and made me sick to my stomach, and not to mention how he tries to kill Jane, even though in her defense at the time, she says it was an accident. And if you don't shoot him, he kills Jane but doesn't care, even after he finds out that she was lying and he didn't have to kill her. I couldn't have been happier in my life then when I killed him. Disgusting character.
I can't think of a character he actually cared and got along with in S2 other than Sarita, Clementine, Matthew, and Walter. He had a problem with nearly everyone just because they didn't agree with him. I was more than happy to shoot him.

That's fine, entirely your opinion on Kenny but my Lee was friends with Kenny and i agreed with him most of the time so he wasn't an asshole to me.
When Duck was bitten and he was indenial, naturally his son was dying, he knew it but didn't want to believe it and anyone else would most likely feel the same way. If you talked Kenny down in the train, he regrets the whole Shawn incident on Hershel's farm and feels his son dying was his punishment.
Actually in season 2 it didn't matter if you sided with him or not because most of our choices had little effect (down to bad writing in my opinion). Why is it creepy to care about a baby just because it's not his own? Also yep i think anyone would become unstable after losing their entire family on the same day, a good friend (Lee), Sarita. Be enough to make anyone lose it. Grief will do that.
His treatment of Arvo was over the top, however, this guy and his Russian friends threatened the group at gunpoint and tried to rob them. I would not like nor trust him at all.
Actually Jane tries to kill Kenny as well, in fact, in my opinion, it was merely an aggressive fight until Jane slashed Kenny with her knife at which point it became personal. She went to attack him with the knife outside when she could have ran away or stopped the fight by saying the baby (who's death she faked) was fine and wel but she didn't because she wanted the fight to happen. Also you say he didn't care after he killed Jane? What about Jane? Did Jane care if Clem had shot him? I didn't see her saying any regrets about his death.
Anyway, as always you have your opinion and i have mine and that's why we are given choices.

Cabin crew weren't nice but they weren't very nice to Clem to begin with.

You make good counterpoints towards me, and like always, everyone has their own opinion, and I respect yours, as you do mine. While I agree that grief was the main reason for his rage, I feel that there were sometimes when he was a gigantic jerk to people for no reason. He makes fun of Nick and Luke for questioning his plan, and in Episode 3 he's a dick to Reggie and Mike for no reason. He turns his rage on people who don't deserve it.
His treatment towards the baby in Episode 4 is pretty creepy, and Luke even points it out. He keeps asking Rebecca to let him hold it, even when she states that she wants to hold him. I found that creepy. I get it, you like the baby, but it's not yours! But, I can see why he cares about it so much, so I can let that slide.
While I think that he has good reason not to trust Arvo, when he says stuff like 'ruskie' and 'euro trash' it makes me sick. Not to mention almost beating him to death, and before then, even calling him a 'commie piece of shit'. It was sick, offensive treatment towards a kid who just lost his sister and his crew in one fell swoop.
I agree that it wasn't just Kenny's fault that his fight with Jane turned violent, it was self-defense for Jane. She sees this crazed madman coming towards her while she's on the floor, so I feel I would have turned a knife on Kenny too. I don't think Jane would've been able to stop the fight. Kenny was in full lunatic mode and there was no stopping him. The fight would've been the same. While Jane doesn't care about Kenny's death as well, I felt she is more justified to not give a damn then Kenny. Jane feels that it was self-defense on her part, since Kenny was the one who threw the first punch I believe. Also, unlike Kenny, she shows at least some remorse that Kenny died. I remember her saying something along the lines of 'I didn't know that he would be that crazy', which I believe means that she didn't intend for Kenny to be killed when she made her plan. I can't recall Kenny ever showing remorse over murdering Jane.
But, as always, I respect our different opinions.
P.S. Sorry for the weird red text. I don't know how to stop that.

I don't believe how the cabin group treated Clementine in All That Remains has anything to do with how Kenny treated them. I agree the cabin group didn't treat Clem the best at first, but they were catious and scared. I would be too. The only reason Matthew, Walter, and Sarita were nice was because they didn't have a psycho chasing after them like the cabin group did.

Thing is, why do you even have to presuade him to come with you if there's a little girl's life at risk? It shouldn't even be questionable and if you do everything he asks, he will come with you without question, so smashing someone's skull matters when it comes to save a life?
Trying to save Larry means that you're giving him a chance to turn. If he turns he will kill everyone, meaning no one will be able to escape to save Kennys family. The way he sees it, saving Larry is as good as leaving Katjaa and Duck to die.
Kenny couldn't convince Lee to help him in that situation (saving Katjaa and Duck) but at the end of ep4 Kenny still gives Lee a chance to persuade him to save the only family Lee has left.

In S2 E5 when Kenny crashes the car the first thing he does is ask Jane if she is alright, then he leaves the car to get gas so they can get to safety. Keep in mind this is after Jane had just taunted him about his dead family.
Jane then tries to convince Clem to leave Kenny to die.

Hmmm...
If you agree with Kenny on everything he wont think twice and will ofer to go with you regardless.
If you didn't Kenny wont.
This means that: trying to save Larry, trying to save Shawn, letting ben die, sidding with Lilly, etc weights on weather Kenny will or will not ofer to save a life.
And THAT shows how messed up Kenny morals are.
Why does killing Larry weight on Clem's life? Or sidding with Kenny? Or saving Shawn? Nothing, is the answer. And yet Kenny is willing to let Clem on her own because of that.
Is it the fact that she threatened to tie a kid to a tree and let Walkers eat him until he dies if he tries to tell anyone that she stole chocolate and telling him that killing is the way to prevent yourself from turning into a monster?
Is it the fact that she threatened to tie a kid to a tree and let Walkers eat him until he dies if he tries to tell anyone that she stole chocolate and telling him that killing is the way to prevent yourself from turning into a monster?
I like Kenny but I dislike allot of the decisions he makes - he acts irrationally and his temper can get the better of him. Do these Traits make him a good character? That's subjective. Do these Traits put others in harm's way? Yes, which makes him dangerous to the group.
In Season One - He kills Larry almost as soon as he collapses, he disregards the possibility of Larry being alive(as well as being a useful member of the group considering how strong he is) and just gets the salt lick, whether everyone is with him or not and then later on when Duck is bit, he struggles to realize that Duck was putting the group in danger in the state he was in(this is evident by how Duck can kill Lee and seemingly everyone else on the Train apart from Kenny), forgetting the words he said when he tried to persuade Lee to help him kill Larry, his irrational act got a member of the group killed and later on, put everyone else in the group in danger. Then there's the hypocrisy, after Lilly shoots and kills either Carley or Doug, Kenny labels her a murderer despite killing Larry not that long ago(I'm surprised Lilly didn't mention this to be honest). When it comes to Kenny and Clementine's relationship, I personally don't see them as family(I do like to count members of the group as family but only when they actually know each other well), why don't I consider them family? Well, first of all, in Season One - Kenny only determinantly chooses to save Clementine(his optional part in her rescue is determined by his relationship with Lee, not his relationship with Clementine - which there is no real evidence showing they had any 'relationship' at the time) but it's all subjective view, I just don't consider someone who yells at Clementine often, disagrees with her unless she agrees with his ideas(as even if Clementine wants to go to Howe's, Kenny is completely against it, and even if you try to be in the middle, Kenny still gets angry - at least judging by his tone).
I personally don't condone hurting others who are defenseless either - there's no reason to do so(What's the point in killing Carver like that? It was completely pointless and there's no reason to constantly beat Arvo, isn't he punished enough for seeing his Sister and other group members die right in front him, as well as already being beaten up multiple times before, as well as being tied up in the cold all alone?).
I just think he's too irrational - He gets Walter and Alvin determinantly killed(perhaps untintentionally but the second time didn't seem unintentional considering he was warned before then), he blames Clementine for Sarita's death regardless, he leaves Clementine in the Walker Horde(perhaps unintentional, that mostly depends on perspective) and I think he broke the group - He disliked the Cabin Group since he met them, he tries to tell Clementine that Jane is a bad influence(which is determinant I believe? But is also hypocritical considering his irrational actions) as well as makes himself the leader, he doesn't take the group's opinions into consideration. Yeah he's only human and he makes mistakes but I wouldn't say beating up Arvo more than once is a mistake as that isn't determinant or that continuing to not take other peoples' ideas into account is a mistake, neither would I count continuing to fight someone as a mistake(He knows what he's doing, he only realizes it once he kills, which is a scary thought if Clementine crosses him). Another reason I think he's irrational is that he's quick to blame people without actually questioning them and he acts like he knows what their intentions are without knowing them at all.
Do I hate Kenny? No, I just don't agree with allot of the things he's done. Would I have liked Kenny to live? Yes, but I despised that letting Jane die is the only way to do it.
P.S. I find it quite unfair how some people are making Jane sound heartless whilst justifying Kenny's mistakes by saying nobody's perfect and that humans make mistakes, yet, Jane makes mistakes and the same justification somehow doesn't count?
If I recall, Kenny tries to do the same doesn't he? I remember responding with Clementine that "We need people" after Kenny said something about leaving with just him, Clem and AJ.
In S2 E5 when Kenny crashes the car the first thing he does is ask Jane if she is alright, then he leaves the car to get gas so they can get… more to safety. Keep in mind this is after Jane had just taunted him about his dead family.

I oddly find your text nicer to read xD but onto the topic, I just wanted to confirm about the pre and post events of the Jane and Kenny fight - Kenny does attack Jane first - he runs up, tackles her and pins her to the wall with his arm on her neck after she sheaths her knife, she doesn't unsheath her knife until after she gets pulled away from punching Kenny or Kenny pushes her away and then approaches her.
Post-fight(take note that dialogue changes slightly depending on the option you pick), Kenny says "AJ! Let me see him! I thought... I thought we lost you buddy. I won't let you outta my sights again, that's a promise." - "There ain't no mystery here. She was nuts Clem, a disturbed person that had her own agenda that was looking out for herself" - "Listen, I didn't want that to happen, I thought she'd killed Alvie Clem and at any point, she could've stopped what was happening by saying he was fine, she wanted a fight, I'd never ever hurt you, you understand? I was protecting you. You believe me right?" - "Just imagining what she did to Alvie, everything just went black"
Whilst Jane says "I understand if you're upset. AJ was never in any danger, I was just...going to try to talk you into coming with me. I just thought if you saw Kenny like that, you'd know we'd have to leave him. Look, Clem, I'm sorry. I didn't think Kenny would go that far, but it's over now, we're all safe, we're going to be okay" - "I had to do it Clem, you saw how he reacted, I had to show you what he was capable of" - "It was a stupid plan, I should never have lied to you but I thought it was the only way you'd see." - "You have to forgive me... please. We can just leave all this behind us" There are only 2 dialogue options determining whether Clementine goes or leaves Jane - going with her results in - "Thank you, thank you Clem." - "It's over now Clem, let's just put all this behind us."
P.S. It felt very one-sided going back again since Clementine is almost automatically spiteful towards Jane and more forgiving reacting to Kenny. Especially since Kenny's death gets a peaceful scene(if Jane is saved) and he gets the longest Endings...

No problem, yeah, I also don't like how going with Jane automatically makes Clementine agree with Jane either, I feel like the game was saying I must hate Kenny if I chose to side with Jane and I don't really hate any of the characters tbh, at least not anymore lol what I disliked the most was how Kenny gets 2 special scenes where you can shoot him after he kills Jane or after you shoot him to save Jane and his Ending is also the longest of the three(I believe twice as long as Jane's and allot longer than the Alone Ending), as well as there being only 2 options with Jane whilst Kenny gets 4, it just felt unfair.

That sounds right.
She encouraged an eleven year old to leave a man to freeze to death
"But she sounded like she was going to apologise"
Wot
This ^
Thanks for the info, and I too found it weird that Clementine is basically angry at Jane no matter what and isn't angry at Kenny in the same way.
Lee! ;-;
Hey,remember the Kenny VS Jane Megathread, this is gonna be it's successor.
