I'm not much of a horror game fan, but I really admire the Fatal Frame series and I think Follow The Darkness is one of the best indie horrors to date.
Neither was I at one point, but then after I watch one specific horror game, I rewatch the whole thing over again, and I get used to it. And ever since then, I love horror games .

What horror game, might I ask? Also, if you don't scare easily, I heavily recommend a trying play through of one of the Fatal Frames. Or if you want funny, awkward dialogue, the first Silent Hill/Resident Evil are amazing for that as well.

The first horror game I watched on yt was Outlast. I was scared a few times, but then I rewatched the whole thing over again and I just...got used to the scaring and almost knew when to expect jumpscares in almost ANY horror game. And ever since then I love horror games

In FNAF, you can't move around while in EWTP you can
In FNAF, you can't learn much about the story when you're playing a night while in EWTP you can by listening to the tapes you find
In FNAF, you don't have many ways to defend yourself from your enemies (Just close doors, use a Freddy mask, use BB's voice to lure them away etc.) while in EWTP you have to every enemy (Stare at Kiki, don't move when the Clown pops out, run from Chester into another room)
In FNAF, you survive nights while in EWTP you survive hours
In FNAF, all enemies have the same jumpscare scream while in EWTP every enemy has its own jumpscare
I never got that into FNaF games. They just get cloned one after the other and it turns out to be the same exact thing.
EDIT: And they're also too hard :P
They both certainly have differences:

I used to be a fan of them before but after the Halloween Edition for FNAF4, I just got bored of it and it's over. Now I see why people hate it. But hopefully the new game Scott Cawthon is gonna make in the future will not be like them.

I got bored of them at that point too. I mean, EVERYTHING has been figured out when FNaF 4 came out: who caused the bite of '87, who killed those kids, and who Purple Guy was. There was absolutely no point in an update. It was already good enough!

I think it was for fans of Puppet, Mangle and BB, the major characters of FNAF 2. Also the box at the end of Night 7 is still NOT revealed, so it will never be.

Not really into horror games.
So I guess Resident Evil 2 and Bioshock.
I love horror movies and literally own hundreds of them, but I just don't like them as a video game genre. Slow and atmospheric is great for 2hrs, but it just can't grip me for 10 while I'm trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing(and I hate games that walk you through the story, holding your hand).
Yeah. Horror shooters is the only way I go.
I'm the other way around. I hate horror movies but love horror games. And if you like horror shooters, try the Dead Space series, Doom 3 and Alien Isolation. They're horror shooters.

I have played a bit of Dead Space 1, Doom 3 and Alien Isolation. I didn't necessarily dislike DS or AI. I just wasn't in the mood for them at the time. Doom 3 is a classic though. AI is a game I definitely will revisit as I'm a huge Alien fan. I will probably play the Dead Space series one day as well since EA gave them to me for free.

Here's an update on the thread. BioShock and The Last of Us don't count as horror games either. It's because, like, Walking Dead, it just has zombies. It's not scary. It's tense, but not scary.

Penumbra: Black Plague was amazing. I personally think it's quite a bit more creepy than Amnesia, which is also a great horror game.
There we go, the images are fixed. I couldn't get it right. It's fixed now.
EDIT: It was because of it was a CERTAIN image that wouldn't work. It's fine now. Whatcha think?
EDIT Number 2: In case you're wondering what the bottom one is, it's Dead Space 2.

Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil.
The major players of the horror genre.
I've never heard of it. I'll go check it out
Until Dawn and outlast

Pretty basic shooting horror games. Pretty unique.
Those are in my number 1 and 3 slot

That's why I don't like FNaF games. All you do is stay in one place and survive until 6 AM, and you beat the game. That's no fun.
Oh, my uncle played Outlast. I don't remember his reaction, but I've heard mostly good things about that game.
Try both that and the DLC. Play both of those, and you'll find another definition of horror.

I just might, thanks for the recommendation.
Anytime

If that was the case, they should've just stuck to replaying FNaF 2 over and over again in 10/20 mode.

Alright then
Condemned Series. I recommend it if you like horror games.
I'll check those out, too
Silent Hill 4 is my fave horror game. Really freaked me out.
Walking Dead doesn't count. Yeah, it does not. Horror? Drama, I say.
If I recall correctly, TWD even won a few ''Best horror game'' awards... for some reason. lol
I don't care. I know I'm right. Zombies barely are a threat. Slow and freaky, not scary. Kids can beat them. People are problem.

Go soak your head, Bioshock DOES count.
Call of Cthulhu : Dark Corners Of The Earth was also very interesting. A very underrated Bethesda game.
I really enjoyed Outlast and the whistleblower DLC, Outlast 2 is due for release later this year which is something i am really looking forward to.
There are no zombies in bioshock. Don't try and tell me you didn't hold your breath when a big daddy shambled around a corner right infront of you.
And the fucking funeral home, man! GAH!
