Would you'd had rather a Jane or Kenny mini series than Michonne?

I'm not a fan of the Michonne mini series game, and I know it's not related to the Lee / Clementine stories, but anybody else wish they would have done a DLC on either Kenny before he met Lee during the ZA or Jane surviving with her sister?

These would have made great mini series. IDKY they chose Michonne.

Nope. Sick to death of both right now. They chose Michonne because she is popular in the show and comics. Kenny and Jane are only known to game fans.

  • It's not like we're not getting that.

    I'd rather have a SEASON 3

  • Good thing Michonne has no impact on Season 3 coming any sooner then, huh? ;)

By the way, what's the purpose of this MINI-SERIES? It's irrelevant to the main story. They could've just worked on season 3. As a result, we would've gotten the first episode by now or by the time Michonne ends.

  • Yep. By late 2016 or early 2017

And Michonne had nothing to do with it regardless of such.

  • And you know that how? As I said in my post above - it replaced another Telltale game we would got otherwise. Telltale was still going to take their time on Season 3 anyways.

  • No, I like Michonne.

  • What's the purpose of Tales From The Borderlands or Game Of Thrones, if it isn't relevant to the main The Walking Dead story? What you're saying is just as senseless. The Michonne Miniseries is an independent, unrelated project to the Telltale's The Walkig Dead Series. Don't bash on it just because.

  • I'm perfectly content with Michonne, thank you.

  • Maybe, I feel like Telltale could have done some cool stories with Kenny or Jane, except that some people would go "Well I hate Kenny!" or "Well I hate Jane!" or "I hate them both!" and it would just conflict with sales.

Iunno, Michonne is alright, but is hasn't really gotten me super invested.

  • Nah, I don't want to see them ever again.

  • Nah, I'd rather know more about Michonne, plus it fills a gap in her story-line in the Comics.

  • It's not like Telltale can't make any other TWDG content without it being related to their original game. It's just some TWDG for us to play while we wait for Season 3.

  • I like Michonne so no.

  • A lot of sheep on here who keep on saying no because they're too scared to have an opinion or worried of being relegated, so choose to stick with the pack. Honestly, I like Michonne's series. It's better then I expected. Seeing a Kenny mini series, would be good. His life before meeting Lee. The scene where he said someone grabbed Duck and he went nuts. What happened after he got separated in No Time Left. Meeting Sarita after Season One. I think it be interesting.

  • No.

Michonne is good and interesting, not to say Jane and Kenny aren't but a mini-series would be kind of pointless. I'd be more interested in a Jane mini-series, but not over Michonne.

  • Season 3 isn't going to take 5 minutes to make. The entire point of the mini-series was to play something TWDG while Season 3 was being made. Why would they make us wait this entire time for Season 3, and THEN give us the mini-series after it? That doesn't make sense.

  • No, both of them don't deserve a backstory episode. Michonne is one of the best characters in Walking Dead franchise.

After 2 eps in this Michonne series, i'd say yeah I would have preferred a Kenny or Jane game. Not a fan of AMC Michonne and whilst the Telltale version is a slight improvement, Michonne just doesn't work very well as a playable character in my opinion. I prefer Telltale original characters to the characters in the show anyway. The Michonne series has also been way too fast moving as well. A Kenny or Jane game would have been more character driven, more about them as people and less about a good guys vs bad guys thing.

Definitely not Kenny or Jane. I feel Kenny's story came to a natural end at the conclusion of S1. S2 was rehashed his S1 arc for Clementine's benefit. As for Jane, I never liked her all that much. Less is definitely more.

As for the PC being Michonne...that's fine with me. I've was ambivalent about playing Bigby in TWAU since he's a comic mainstay (even though the game introduced me to the comics), and I feel similarly about playing as Michonne. She's an interesting character, but deciding choices for an established character feels at odds sometimes. This includes playing as Clementine. I just prefer playing as blank slates, like Lee. Not blank slates as in no character traits, but as in being able to say "I am Lee."

For all of TTG's promotion for TWD S2 finale in the form of: "#IAmClementine or whatever hashtag they used (I don't know, I neither follow nor care about Twitter), we weren't really Clementine. Clementine is Clementine, based only partly on Lee's actions. So there's always that disconnect for me when playing as a character who was developed in previous media. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy playing as those characters. I thoroughly enjoyed TWAU, TWD S2 had its moments, and I'm enjoying the Michonne miniseries.

    But the disconnect remains.

Edit: Wow, that got away from me a bit. Maybe if a Jane miniseries started near the beginning of the outbreak. Maybe if a Kenny miniseries took place between S1 and S2. But I'm not sold on them being games; maybe a comic miniseries, like how TWAU got its comic that was able to pace itself differently due to the differences between media.

  • AMC Michonne? You know this miniseries is about comic Michonne?
I would be disspointing if the game followed the show, but is about the comics (canon with the games)

  • Yes I know this. I was saying that I prefer telltale version. I don't read comics so I am not really familiar with comic book characters.

  • A 3 episode story filler for the comics sure as hell doesn't take as long as a 5 episode Season with 5 different beginnings. It also didn't delay the creation of Season 3 either. You get my point? :)

  • There are so many characters in the telltale universe that need some development compared to Kirkman and his comics.

Like are we gonna forget about Nate. The guy chasing after everyone from the 400 days dlc. There are bad guys and good guys we need to understand. Kenny would probably be a waste.

The only tv show character who I would have liked to see a dlc about if anyone from telltale would be Glenn. I mean he was with the group at some point so it would make sense. And we could find out how the first Atlanta group formed before Rick came.

But I'd rather do a Nate dlc or a carver one. Something not related to the show so that there is creative freedom

  • I dont know I guess anything could be good to pass the time while waiting for season 3 but for me as long as its does not cover the 400 days characters if it did the only ones I would be interested in is Bonnie Shel or Becca I did not really care for the others at all as far as Kenny I think if it covered after season 1 before seeing him again in season 2 would be more interesting than a dlc of him before he met Lee
