I remember them releasing S2 info after/during episodes of the show, actually.

They released screenshots for A House Divided during an episode of the show, if I'm remembering correctly. I think they did the same thing with the S2 screenshot of Omid, too.

  • It's funny, you know.

There are few active discussers who argue in favor of Kenny and against Jane, and there are many of us that argue in favor of Jane and against Kenny; this happens even though, curiously enough, the majority of overall users, among which are those who don't partake in discussion, favor Kenny over Jane.

This results in discussions tilting toward Jane instead of Kenny.

Actually, they said "very, very, very, very soon."

  • That should really be the other way around.

If you, person reading, like Kenny and believe that others discussing are analyzing him unfairly, speak up; engage in the conversation yourself! This discussion needs people who view him from a multitude of perspectives!

  • Well, it's been a loooooong time since I've signed in. The last time... was probably when the site first changed its format. Well... I'll just step in for a bit.

The key word here is: "Active". The number of Kenny "supporters" on this site years ago was so large that their voice drowned out most others. Many of them, including me, still visit the threads on occasion to check for any news/leaks/interesting conversations. So just because they don't reply, doesn't mean they don't exist or aren't present.

Here is my question to you: Should I care about your preference of Jane over Kenny? Frankly, I've had many debates with veterans of this site regarding, say, Ben vs Lilly, Ben vs Kenny, Kenny vs Lee, Kenny vs Jane, etc. At the end of the day, if neither side is willing to relent, then what is the point?

Another question, while I'm at it: What can you say that hasn't been said already? This goes for me, as well. I've written so much about certain characters in the past, and with no new information, there is honestly nothing I can add. And I know I'm not the only one. Instead of pointlessly repeating myself over and over again, I'd rather just leave things be.

So why should I partake in this discussion? What do I have to gain? What do I have to lose from staying silent? There is no way to sway my opinion, and I'm sure I can't sway your's. So any further discussion on the topic is likely to go nowhere.

Such is just my take on this, so I cannot speak for everyone. But... I do know, for sure, that the number of Kenny "supporters" lurking about outnumbers the Jane "supporters" by a considerable amount. If you were part of this site years ago, you probably wouldn't want them back, either. Some of them were... shall I say... aggressive. XD

It's funny, you know. There are few active discussers who argue in favor of Kenny and against Jane, and there are many of us that argue i

  • They're not, though. Listen to them carefully, and you can hear slight differences that carry different tones. One is more peaceful, providing a feeling of safety, while the other is likely to put the player in a state of unease/caution. This is, at least, my interpretation of the two tracks.

The point is that both play early on in season 1, episode 1, so to some players these tracks carry a lot of sentimental/nostalgic weight. When I hear "Alive Inside", the first thing that pops in my head is Lee and Clem talking about Lee's past and family in the drugstore. So if this played at the very beginning in the right setting, I wouldn't be surprised if it made some people cry. Heck, it might even make me shed some tears.

  • They way that I do things is that I hear what the other person has to say, being open to the positivity of dropping my current opinion and taking up theirs, if they show that theirs is more sensible than mine. I expect them to do the same.

So far, I've taken notice that @IronWoodLover does that in particular—which is why I consider him to be one of the wisest users here—but there is nobody else, as far as I know. Some might be good at explaining, but they fail miserably at analyzing opposing views; this is thanks to the assortment of biases that humans hold.

I see this website as an opportunity to enrich ourselves as fans of this series and, most importantly, as people; not as a place to blindly defend what we believe in at this point in time. Why would anybody waste their time coming to a forum if they're not willing to consider other perspectives, and even adopt them? Perhaps it's because a handful of people, who have poor self-confidence, feel the need to reassure themselves that they're better than others, and coming here and speaking while covering their ears is a quick way to do this.

I did not join here to join #TeamKenny nor #TeamJane, and thus, whenever I argue within a discussion I am speaking for myself and not for an extended group of people with whom I have one opinion in common. Of course, anybody reading is free to adopt my view if they deem it the most sensible.

If you would rather "leave things be" instead of partaking a discussion, let me tell you that you're wasting your time on a forum. And I say this with the best of intentions. Without threads, there is no forum.

In addition to what you said and also responding to @Mark$man, repeating yourself isn't exactly senseless. This forum is in constant growth, new members join everyday, members who never had their opinion challenged before. This is the place for that to happen. Here is where all the facts, opinions and positions about these subjects meet. This is the place where one can rethink their opinions by hearing one another.

Now, I agree. Having the same conversation with the same person about the same subject can be pointless and frustrating if nothing new is being added to the table (I talk from experience here). But talking to someone who you've never discussed before may be worth it. Sure, most of the times both sides will stand by their original opinions but that's due to the fact that not everyone has the same moral compass, the same attachment to a character, the same way to interpret facts, etc. etc.

Take me for example. I joined this forums back in 2014 as a Kensplainer! I now hate Kenny with a passion (while also loving his character deeply)! Now, I don't think I've ever seen your viewpoints on Kenny vs Jane. Who know? Maybe you have the argument that can make one like Kenny. You'll never find out if you don't spit it out, though.

Now you may not care about changing people's opinions. And that's fine, neither do I (mostly, depends on the person), but there's something extremely entertaining in engaging in a (polite) argument (if not overdone, of course (seriously, one might end up having a mental breakdown if so (I talk from experience))).

  • Season 3 makes me really question how Clementine has been able to deal with emotional and physical trauma as a child and adolescent for four or so years.

People have many different coping mechanisms, and I think Clementine's is silence, and keeping all of the stress inside. In the world she lives in, it makes total sense to keep her emotions quiet.

Number 1. She would be seen as week.

Number 2. Everyone else is going through the same mess.

So it makes me wonder if Clem will come to her breaking point this season. Many people believe that this is Clem's final season, and ik starting to agree. Traumatic stress on a any child is enough to break them; we saw that with Sarah.

So when will it be Clem's time to break? Will she break? Or is she unbreakable, and is that the point of her story?

What do you guys think? Do you think Clem's mental state will play a larger role in Season 3 than the previous 2 seasons?

  • Stuff will bother her, but she will overcome her past experiences and move on... like every strong person. :)

I would love to see Clem's mental state play a larger role in Season 3. She has been so brave and tough through all of the trauma and misery she has experienced. I hope to God that this isn't Clem's last season, but I honestly would be intrigued to see a scene where Clem finally breaks down, and expresses her grief. I know with Melissa Hurichison's brilliant performance, and the proper writing, it could be a very powerful, emotional moment, that will bring people even closer to Clem than they already are.

Sigh Of course that is the point of the forums, but it is also for the spreading of information that would otherwise not be shared. I was purely referring to the idea that since two years has passed since season two released, many people, including myself, have temporarily left the site, as we lost all reason for staying. Without an influx of information, it is only natural for people to run out of things to discuss. That is the idea as to why there is such a disproportionate amount of Jane "supporters" here. There are other reasons, of course, but long ago there were a lot more vocal Kenny "supporters" on the threads.

Again, you're talking about the people that CURRENTLY post on the site, when I was simply trying to give a reason for why people currently are not (which has included me).

More pointless rambling about how to give one's opinion when that wasn't the point of my post, therefore it should be directed at someone else... okay...

I would rather CURRENTLY "leave things be". I've stated my personal opinion on this subject (as well as many, many others) more than enough times on threads that actually dealt with the topic (I.E. not this thread). So... until Season 3 comes out, and we learn more about Telltale's The Walking Dead, there is nothing more I can add, or perhaps more to your liking, more that I want to add. As for your comment "you're wasting your time", could I not say the same to you? I don't know your opinion, either, as you haven't stated it where I can see it (which would pretty much only be in the waiting thread :P). In that regard, could I not call you a hypocrite?

And I say all this with "the best of intentions" ;).

Trust me, when season 3 comes around, I'll be glad to exchange in conversation. I'm just not really interested in the older topics anymore, if that makes sense.

@IronWoodLover Hmm... no snarkiness, no "holier-than-thou" approach... I think I'd have fun debating with you. So... if you two actually want to discuss something, tag me and I'll respond (this is a waiting thread, which is why I won't do it here). Consider that a challenge, if you want.

400 Days didn't tie in too heavily either, except for Bonnie. Walking Dead is enough of an interesting universe for Telltale to explore other characters besides Lee or Clementine. Just because Clementine was the playable character in Season 2, it doesn't make Season 1 her story more than Lee's story.

Clem was added as a character for Season 1 so that Lee would have a motivation to stay with the group and not just run off if the going got tough, or if he got fed up.

  • Honestly, the fact that a large portion of users visit regularly to keep up to date with news for A New Frontier had not passed through my mind up to this point, and it's also likely that most of them will stay to discuss choices, narrative, characters, etc.

And I might have gone off-rails earlier as well, though I continue to believe what I said—partly. "Pointless rambling" does not sound nice to describe my post, which took quite a lot of time and mental energy to compose, but oh, well. I suppose I deserve it.

You might not describe me as a hypocrite for this. Every day I come here I keep in mind that I could be defending a soundless position and just haven't realized it yet. But believe me when I say that I join discussions on a regular basis.

And what you say makes complete sense! You would not want to go over topics that have been exhausted in your experience, but I joined in January and I haven't been tired of it yet.

And I look forward to engaging in lots of discussions with you and everybody else once the first episode of Season Three debuts.

  • I cannot recommend the miniseries enough!

The origin of the conflict has more elaboration than Season One of Season Two's did, but it is subtle enough that you won't be forced to figure it out by yourself if you do not wish to; the characters are complex, dynamic and tridimensional; and the overall morality is kept ambiguous, so the antagonists are not stereotypical villians. The settings are also fresh and innovative.

One of the downsides is the gameplay time, though. Each episode amounts to an hour and a half at most.

Clementine's story is better than both the comic's and the show's, honestly. So I would rather both stories stay within their own boundaries. A little mention of Clementine's character in the comics or vise versa would be neat but anything more than that would seem forced.

  • It wouldn't hurt to read the comics, as the Michonne miniseries reveals what Michonne did during a time when she "disappeared" during the comics, but you can still very much enjoy the game without reading them. If you don't want to read all of them, you could always just read maybe 10 issues, give or take, around the timeline in the comics that the Michonne Miniseries takes place (Or around the time that she disappears/reappears.)

Michonne Miniseries starts off the basis that Michonne is within a period of depression and mental obscurity in which she left her group, but not much further than that. There are no mentions of comic characters, aside from two that are also featured in the series; Pete and Siddiq. You should also know that the three lived in different communities of a network in the Washington DC area.

There! That's all it will ever spoil.
