I think it's the same deal as Staff Members like Laura, Job, or Nathan - they obviously work directly at Telltale, and they get to interact with the community as part of the job, alongside other stuff like sharing release dates, updating the News section (R.I.P in Pepperoni Blog section), updating social media, etc.
Ok...what do they do? I mean I know what they do for mmo forums...like a super dooper mod with a direct line to the devs...but have not see… moren anything like that for TellTalegames. I mean you mods are all excellent human beings and dapper dressers...so what will the difference be for the community.

I believe the release date won't be the 15th like the disc version but it might be November 1st as the 8th is Election Day and the 15th the disc comes out. So it could be the 1st or 15th. Hopefully the 1st hint hint TellTale lol just kidding take your time and make the game perfect just not anywhere after November lol.
