I didn't think it'd be possible that S2-- which took only one year-- would have a stronger season opener than S3, which took two years

    but it somehow did

  • That's because Telltale actually put more effort into the story and direction of Season 2 than A New Frontier

The ANF writers STILL to this DAY have NO clue what direction to take the narrative of S3

    I wouldn't say that's entirely true.

Yeah, we know there are rewrites, but we don't know to what extent.

  • You're right, I wonder if we will see an older Clementine due to the time skip.

I honestly enjoyed season 2, plus they opened us with a very tough Clementine, pouring the hydrogen peroxide over her laceration then suturing her arm by herself with good old needle & thread, I loved it. Season 3 just needs something other than "spooky New Frontier" and Mariana shock value, we need more dire situations that season 1 and 2 contained, very gruesome ones too. Oh and I hope they work on character development as a primary goal for next episode too, I seriously don't care about Gabe nor Kate at all right now, they annoy me if anything.

  • I dunno. Judging by one of his previous tweets, I don't think he knew how much of a backlash it got on the forums.

Brad Kane, the lead writer of A New Frontier responded to my tweet that said " I don't think ignoring fan criticism is the best idea, we wan

  • Nobody is ever pleased at this point. I'm convinced that if Telltale sent everyone sacks of money they'd complain it was heavy.

  • Most people are pessimistic, and the reaction to ANF is acceptable, Telltale just needs to shape up in a few areas. I personally loved both seasons 1 & 2, but ANF is quite appalling so far, I'm just hoping they take in the feedback and implement it, but the last time I was optimistic, ANF released so that did blemish Telltale's reputation for many others and I, especially with "42 starting points" being a placebo and their scummy marketing techniques they utilized.

I don't know if I'm just the exception, but I've never found it hard to get attached to characters in... well, just about anything.

Even when I was a kid, I'd get attached to characters in shitty action films, characters that had the absolute baseline as far as characterization goes. And if said characters died or had some emotional scene, it would actually affect me.

And that's been the same for all these years. With TWD, all seasons so far, I've found myself caring heavily about the characters, quite early on at that. More than practically all other games I've played. But then I see everyone talking about how most of the characters in S2 and S3 so far are bland and uninteresting, and how they don't care about them, and I'm sitting over here thinking "Well, I do..."

It's just that Kate and Gabe don't feel like they've been in the apocalypse for 5 years. Gabe still acts like an edgy little kid, drifting off alone in an extremely dangerous world, not to mention the boy hasn't killed one walker on screen yet and has shown he's incompetent while not being able to defend himself from walkers, I don't know why he has a pistol at this point anyways, Mariana would've been better off with it (Does Kate even have one? Why does Kate not have the pistol? Why Gabe?), those are just a few reasons to keep this shorter than normal. Kate rubs off as a very irresponsible person, especially in this apocalypse, seriously, I don't know why they even included her smoking weed in this game, and she hasn't exactly proven herself to be great against walkers too, only Javier in that group has done work, she killed one walker with a car door I guess. Another thing is that Kate runs directly into a bullet after Mariana is undoubtedly dead, seriously no matter how much you cared about them, I'm sure Mariana wouldn't want Kate running to her amid an attack from a militia group, look where it got her, her bright idea. Then Gabe runs to Mariana and Kate also like sonic, somehow avoiding bullets. It's just a bunch of compiled choices and dialogue they've made that makes me not want to care about them, it's also why this community feels such a disconnect from his family, but you don't have any issues with liking them I guess so it works out for you, but greater character development is in high demand, and it's great for everyone, plus they should have made his family more competent and organized this far into the apocalypse (they were in a damn van for 5 years too, Jesus, how?).

  • I doubt it, if they kill AJ that's just dumb. I want to see AJ grow a bit, Rebecca didn't go through all of that and Clem didn't take care of AJ for that long for nothing.

  • So we might get it around March I guess. That is 3 months of waiting. Is it back to regular programming, Telltale? I'm still waiting for the Game of Thrones Season 2! :(

  • edited January 2017

Well, about two months most likely (if it releases in March), we can only hope it'll be great. Also I doubt they'll work on GoT season 2 until they're done with ANF at least.

So big we had to split it in 3 parts, each having 30 minutes! But if you look into your hearts, the episodes can last for hours!

You can't expect us to just cheer them on for everything they do, Telltale likes criticism though, if they implement changes that are suggested with good reason, it'll make the game even better.

  • I was kinda figuring letting her go would result in her getting caught when she sneaks in for whatever her purpose was headed to Richmond for. Damn though, that would be difficult to watch.

  • Clem is probably trying to get AJ back, this is denoted by her severe concern/panic when realizing New Richmond was taken by the New Frontier, she then has a flashback about AJ right afterwards. So this is a likely scenario from what I've deducted, we'll see how it outcomes though, I don't want her to get sliced or anything :^(.

  • Well... At least they actually flat out told us that it's not coming this month, and probably not next month since 'big news' can mean it's just coming the month after.

They said something, which is more than we've gotten in the past.

I was thinking that this scene was going to be the flashback, showing her getting branded.

    But torture's viable, I guess...

  • I was referring to what can happen in episode 3, after you force her to go in or she finds another way around, I just think they're going to torture her possibly, given that they're depicted as savages.

  • I just hope the wait for episode 3 is worth it in the end.

  • Listening to feedback and implementing said feedback are two different things. They're under no obligation to agree with the feedback and implement it, though they should of course be ready to accept fewer sales etc. if they're going against the majority's wishes.

Even more lies. Brad is just saying that to save his own skin. I mean how could anybody buy this? We saw how much they listened with not only the shitty flashbacks, but the length of the episodes when people constantly wanted longer episodes.

  • I have no hope left telltale. I have no hope left in you!

  • Can they might as well released an update for iOS version? It lags as hell and the graphics are blurry.

May I ask for the gamers here who play on iOS devices, normally do they released updates monthly or before the released of another episode?

  • Sounds like me when I write my essays.
