Lol wtf i don't want Clem and Gabe to be together I want them to die lol
Number 1. Robs Javier and actually justifys it because she "save… mored him"
Number 2. Threatens to shoot Javier if you don't want to give her the van
Number 3. Shooting Eli which was stupid because you should only be shooting the gun if she intends to to kill someone like how Lee taught her
Number 4. Actually gets pissed of at Javi if he doesn't lie about how killing a guy
Number 5. Wants to open fire despite TNF having a hostage showing she only cares about herself
Number 6. Actually gets annoyed at Javi if he doesn't want to murder Conrad she clearly thinks the world revolves around her
I might have missed it, but I don't believe Clem and Gabe had any interactions at the junk yard. You do specifically say that people felt it was horrible a child with no lines of dialogue with Clem died, first time I remember Gabe and Clem speaking was when he pulled a gun on Conrad after Prescott, but I'll have to rewatch the junkyard scene. His attitude since they stopped for is what rubbed people the wrong way.
I was excluding episode 2 in the discussion because this is an episode 1 discussion. Yes I'm well aware Gabe is a bit annoying in Episode 2,… more but that doesn't mean Mari wouldn't have turned out the exact same. The issue I'm seeing is that even if Mari was written the same and just as annoying as Gabe and Gabe was the one to die, Gabe will always have gotten more hate purely because he's a teenage boy around Clementine.
annoying
How the fuck is she annoying in Season 3? Give me a damn example
I don't know why people think her and Gabe would be … morea bad match
Because this is The fucking Walking Dead. This isn't about romance. This isn't fucking Titanic.
to be fair to Gabe he doesn't go around murdering and robbing people so I guess he can be redeemed.
I guess that you forgot that she changed a lot. People will never be the same in this mad world.
As strange as it sounds, I think it is a good idea if they let the turd live. I kinda want walking dead for once let turds(Ben,Spencer, Nichols,Chris, etc) live. I want to see in the long run how those that make reckless decision or are just asses last forever with just dumbluck.
Mariana was less annoying and competent enough not to get trapped in a tractor surrounded by walkers unlike the other dolts. Honestly, I get the feeling "should've been Gabe" is something I'll say to myself a lot in ANF.
I honestly think Mari would've been able to help develop Javi better as a character. They appear, if briefly, to have had a stronger bond between them than Gabe does with Javi, and his normalized attitude does seem out of place in this stage of the zombie disaster. It would've been fine, even appropriate if we'd been playing Javi from the beginning stages of the Walking Dead, and we'd been able to see how the new way of the world shaped him in four years.
Having a character continue to develop strong ties with Javi in Episode 2 could have given us more of a natural attachment to Javi and his family ( what's left of it ). The issue that I'm left with is that I have little to no investment in the lives of the characters we're currently left with in this Season. I wish I did. I want to have one. It's not even the difference between a male/female lead or an over attachment to Clem. I really enjoyed being Lee.
Ultimately, if Gabe doesn't die in Episode 3, I'm hoping we have an opportunity to leave him with David. I really do.
But if he dies we would miss out his oh so compelling "I'm gonna be a big man when I grow up" storyline.
I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want to watch that story play out for another 3 hours.
I understand the stance that because Gabe is a vulnerable teen most likely suffering from anxiety after riding backseat in a still perfectly functioning somehow van for four-or-so years, that many peoples' initial reaction will be protective and nurturing. What I have a hard time following is that a character archetype such as the immensely fragile child no longer makes a whole lot of sense when you take into account that the world has been ravaged for several years and somehow Gabe remains the sole individual that still acts like anyone you'd bump into at Hot Topic today.
Care to divulge why that is?

I just don't see why you would like him...
Well, Mariana was about the only character other than Clementine that I cared about so far this season, I find Javier and his family incredibly dull, Weedsmoking unlikeable brothers wife that tries to get in your pants, Teenage drama boi that has no common sense, after being 4 years in the apocalypse.
There is no way in hell that Javier and his family survived for 4 years in the apocalypse, Kate and Gabe are utterly useless.
Yep, Mariana was pretty much the only likeable character in Javiers family, now that she is gone, I dont really care anymore.
Not to mention how unlikely it is that they even survived that long with Weed-Kate and Whiner-Gabe, Javier is the only remotely smart person in the family (maybe except David), and he is such a bland character that I dont care about him either
I'm pretty sure everybody would've liked if Gabe had died instead. Mariana was much more interesting and likable. Gabe has his moments, but he's mostly annoying and generic.
This is my biggest problem with A New Frontier, (well with the exception of Clem not being the main character, but I can sort of get over that for now), Javier and co. just seems like there is no way they would survive 4 years in the zombie apocalypse, since Kate seems like an idiot with no common sense (smoking weed and trying to get in Javiers pants? comeon, its the apocalypse for fucks sake), and Gabe is just your whiny teen that seems like he hasnt even noticed that the apocalypse is happening, so he is whining when the adults give him shit, Mariana was the only remotely interesting character, and the one who actually seemed like she had some common sense, the only other person with common sense so far is Javier, but I find him too bland to be interesting
I don't know if this is because he just reached his adolescent crisis or something, but Gabe doesn't make me feel he's been inside a zombie … moreapocalypse for years. So far he's been written as your classic whiny teen who will f**k things up at some point(s) in the story. It seems they've been on the road for a while and must have crossed tough situations and stuff but his character is for me a male version of Sarah that has been in a cocoon during all this time.
I won't wish the death of a character even fictional but Marianna had a better premise yep
I agree, after Marianas death, I pretty much have no investment in that family anymore, since its the most unlikeable characters to me, Kate is just a moron who only thinks about weed and sex, and Gabe acts like the apocalypse isnt a thing, and that the world revolves around him

At least Ben was a realistic, well-written character; Gabe acts all drama queen, like he just woke up from four years coma and entered apocalypse world totally unprepared and with no realism at all.

No. Understandably, Gabe might not be the most likable character in this series at the moment, but telltale kept him alive and killed off Mariana for a reason.
Just because a character in a fiction story tends to complain a lot, that doesn't make them useless.
One thing I notice in some fiction stories, is that sometimes the characters that complain a lot in the beginning of a story ultimately become the most diligent by the end. I mean, how do we know this won't happen with Gabe?

No, if Gabe died instead then most of us wouldn't have cared - the death would have pretty much been pointless. Marianna was someone that a lot of us liked, so when she died it was heartbreaking to say the least. She really was a kid whereas Gabe is more of an angsty teenager.

None of them make sense. Our chat is over now,
What? you don't even argue back hahaha just accept Clementine is more or less Jane 2.0

My Clementine didn't leave Sarah to die so she isn't.
I'm talking about season 3
I agree with Stryder. Just ignore him.
Wow, you just got banned. Why?
...What?
good riddance.
hell yeah. mariana was such a cute character.

im not wishing for Gabe to die but I rather have him dead than Marianna

No, I really like Gabe.
That's probably why they killed her and not him.
And Telltale isn't afraid to kill nice characters

Because I find him interesting. I'm not easily annoyed like so many others. I really enjoy his relationship with Javi and I want to see him grow.
Well, I am very easily annoyed but understand your position I suppose.
I've always hated a good 90% of TWD characters personally, but that's just me.

U R CRAZY CLEM IS THE REASON I PLAY TWD
I wonder why?
No one talks about my clem like that
If i were 2 find someone 2 dis like clem and like gabe i would murder u
I dont hate him tho
Again, what?
Oh god she's a video game character. Please tell me you're under ten years old otherwise you need to grow up lol

Well, technically, it's already been starting to happen, so early points for you, mate.

She did not even get to eat that old candy bar Noooooooo!
Assuming that didn't give her food poisoning or something
Neh it was overly predictable, they should have waited longer with any of the main characters deaths for it to have any "shock" effect too.
Yes!
Everyone.
