I love that one: "Clementine and Javier's fates are bound together in the walking dead, where every choice you make could be your last"

I wasn't really being literal when I mentioned Clementine growing a bond with someone closer to her age
I have wished for this numerous times as well. This may sound harsh but I think the reason it hasn't happened is because the writers are scared that if they introduce a younger, interesting character then that character might overshadow and steal the spotlight off Clementine. I think a younger rival or friend to Clementine done properly would be a really good storyline though.
I wasn't really being literal when I mentioned Clementine growing a bond with someone closer to her age, as I am aware that Sarah is quite a… more bit older than her.
Still, Season 2 had an excellent opportunity to actually explore the relationship of two completely different child characters with different upbringings and experiences, and decided to throw it away in the most laziest and off-putting fashion I've seen in a video game.
The Last of Us: Left Behind had a relationship between two child characters that were done admirably. Ellie and Riley knows that they're both in an apocalyptic world, but it doesn't stop them from at least trying to make the most out of it and having some joy and fun in their adventures, even if they were dumb enough to break into a mall filled with the infected.
Haha I don't "only" play Telltale games at all. And you are right, they are mostly like movies as we tend to watch 90% of it and choose dialogue rather than play.
My point is that at least with Season 1 of this series, they offered a hell of a lot of gameplay and even puzzles and optional side quests which added to the story and moral decisions. What do we get nowadays? Virtually sweet FA. What happened to being able to have in depth character interaction and development to learn someone's background and for us to grow attached to him or her? What happened to being able to choose several different things to look at it when exploring areas rather than only a few things like they do these days if at all? What happened to having characters like Kenny, Lilly and Vernon treat you differently based on those choices? We get nothing now!
That is the issue i have with Telltale knowing that if they wanted to and if they actually worked on only one game at a time like they used to, i know that they are capable of making a game as good as season 1. Then again the brilliant writers have left since then so i guess that's debatable as well.
I guess you only play Telltale games.
Telltale games are actually more of movies. The most important in Telltale are moral decisions.
If y… moreou really want action in gameplay there are tons of different game companies who offer you more action in gameplays.
Btw the "moral decisions" don't even matter. We've all seen this over time. But again at least in Season 1 of TWD our choices felt like they always mattered, even if the game eventually always ended the same way. They still felt like they mattered

Now that's a load of horseshite if I've ever seen one.
Not once did Clementine or Sarah bring up their 'lost' childhood in their brief ti… moreme together before the 'hey, let's kill off Sarah omg she's so useless stupid and annoying hurr' plotline rear it's ugly head around the corner.
I guess the writers really didn't believe that the audience might have wanted to see Clementine grow a bond with someone close to her age at some point, even in a zombie apocalypse.

100% agree! Naughty Dog for me make a much more compelling game and story than Telltale ever have although Season 1 is definitely on par with The Last Of Us

Less people are calling them out for these lies probably due to most of the people who played the game not knowing about these 'pieces of information' prior to launch.
* "So... we don't have enough content to fill 5 episodes this season... I guess we'll make a shorter game this tim-"
* "Wait! I have an i… moredea!"
Worst thing is that it seems that it worked. Beside here, I don't see a lot of people calling them out. In a way, GG Telltale.
Or actually added complexity to Clementine's character, I would've liked a silent type, a survivalist with either good or bad morals, a matured individual etc. They would mostly just have to change a few lines of dialogue, making some of them neutral, otherwise remove and add new lines.
Even 2 would have been good enough, she could have either been selfish and cold if you pretty much took the Jane path "aka the Clem we all h… moreave in season 3 now", or caring and protective if you always tried to do the right thing in season 2.
But no, Telltale was too busy rewriting everything 5 times...
The thing I hate the most about them is that somehow Clementine survives all the scenarios but her caretakers all always die... seriously? They don't even have one of them, like Edith, get split up from Clementine to at least give us some hope?
This is a very weak excuse for boosting their numbers. Take an example for letting the family in or not from the Jane ending which literally has one line of dialogue change. The variations are so little that you can barely notice.
We were barely asked important questions about Clementine's background and honestly, what was the point in talking about starting points when Clementine is the same regardless of background? It's sad that Clementine is the same regardless of whether she was alone with AJ, went to Wellington or stuck with Kenny or Jane, their excuse for this is probably the time-skip and things we don't know about happening.
The 42 starting points thing was crazy. I was skeptical about it as soon as I heard it but man imagine if it was true. Now that would be amazing. Wonder where they got the number 42 from.
TTG be like: "But the Kenny and Jane choices did affect ANF, they appeared for like 5 minutes... plus Clementine is different... for the 5 minutes you play as her..."

It's true, though
Every choice could be your last, because it could be the choice that finally makes you stop playing the game and regret purchasing it
It might have had more gameplay physically, but believe me, ANF's "gameplay" is still more functional and cohesive than... that.
We're not just talking about bad games here. We're talking about bad games.

"Every choice you make could be your last"
A classic

"No character will take the backseat"
Cause they won't be in the car.
And E.T.
Technically they didn't lie, Clem gets different scars depending on the endings (kappa)

Javi's fate is bound to Clem, because he owes her a working car...
Oh god did they really say that? Jesus what fucking utter trash!
Goes to show how fucking shit they were and still are! God that lies annoy me to no end!

Yeah, all of them didn't have to die. This is simply just poor writing.
ANF has been a good season.
Good one Deltino. I didn't purchase this game gladly. Just watch the videos online.
Honestly
"90% of the players shared Kate's feelings"
[removed]
400 Days will have a more significant impact on Season 3 than it had in previous seasons.
Oh yeah, they did say that, didn't they?
Well, technically that's not a lie if that's what the statistics showed.
This isn't the primaries, those particular votes aren't rigged lol
"Biggest season done so far"
Splits the first episode because it's TOO big
......please tell me you made that up and they didn't say that.
bUt yOu NeEd tO wAiT uNtIl ThE wHoLe sEaSoN iS oUt Ya SeE : )))))))))
I remember them saying that ANF would be a "considerably larger" season...
To be fair though, if the gameplay and writing keep going the way it is, the next season is probably going to be on par with Plumbers Don't Wear Ties
I'm sorry, but they did say that. During E3 2016.
This one is just makes me hate TTG because it is literally the shortest season they have ever done. (Not including Michonne or 400 days ofc)
Maybe it's so big they had to split it in two. It's a thing apparently.
Ofcourse, but based on the comments here you wouldn't assume that lmao
"Episode was soo big that they had to be split into 2 and biggest season ever"
Seriously.
HA
WOW
Have you even seen episodes 3 and 4?
Speaking of branding. I wonder if we are going to get that flashback when Clem decides to get branded.
