Will you be buying the next installment? [POLL]

It's pretty clear there will be another game. I want to see how many people will really buy or preoder it. Here is the strawpoll link:

Honestly, the whole season feels pointless. Utterly pointless. We have been spending the whole thing trying to find AJ and they end it with absolutely no closure in order to get us to buy the next. I for sure will not be buying it, I dont think I will even watch gameplay.

After the backlash NF is getting, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended Javier's story after this season. I hope Telltale learns from this later on and look back on it as a "failure of a season".

I for sure will not be buying it, I dont think I will even watch gameplay.

It depends on where the story is going. If it's solely about Clem and not Javi and his family with interesting plot, then I'm all for it. Or at least try Episode 6 or 1, if it's a new season, out and if I don't like it I won't play it.

  • I won't preorder or season pass it. I'll buy the first episode maybe. I still haven't played the finale or read any spoilers yet so I'll let you know tomorrow.

I'd wait till the first Episode comes out, watch it on youtube and decide if I'd buy it.

If TTG learn from their mistakes this season & makes Clementine the playable character, rather it's two playable characters with Clem & Javier or just Clem then yeah I'd buy it. But they need to cut all that action bullshit, I want the slow moments back, the moments where you explore & speak to other characters, learn more about them. Like S1 and S2.

  • Well... if they go with Javi again, probably not. I really haven't been feeling much of anything for the new guys this year except for a couple of people, and even then the attachment has been pretty shoddy at best.

If they were to stick with Clem as the absolute, 100% main protagonist for the next installment, then maybe. She's pretty much my last remaining link to this franchise, and if it means that they'll be looking to finish her character arc with some actual dignity (rather than the mostly abysmal development she's gotten in ANF), then I might give it a chance.

One thing's for sure though - I'm definitely gonna watch the first episode before purchasing it next time around. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, and Lee will be rolling in his grave.

  • I hope they make Clem's dlc free to make up for lost times

  • i'm def. look'n forward to the next and last epi., so yea i'll def. buy it! ^.^

  • Yes. I actually really liked this season. Much more than season 2, in fact. I'm definitely buying the next one or a dlc if there is one.

Definitely won't pre-order. Most likely won't buy it afterwards either. I'm fine with taking a break from Telltale's Walking Dead in terms of support, but I'll still look into it on YouTube when it's out, in order to see if they learned from their mistakes or not.

    Edit:
I still hope to have Javier around in the future. If not as a main character, then at least as a side character from time to time, just like Jesus. As the new leader of New Frontier and with connection to Jesus and other communities, he is an important ally in the world of Walking Dead.

    .

  • I mean... ANF was shit. They made it clear Clementine's story would continue, so I would've but... after this season? I don't really know anymore. (+ you know what they did to Clem if you watched the episode - how the fuck is that acceptable?) I won't preorder it that's for sure. I learnt my lesson with preordering a Telltale game this season. Who knows if I buy it or not, depends on if they fixed the problems or not - but hey, at least Clem is the protagonist in S4.

  • I'll buy it simply because I need something to occupy my time.

  • I'm sure as hell waiting till I know FOR SURE that Clem is the playable protagonist before I buy the season pass. If she is the main character I'll more than likely buy it since while ANF didnt start off great for me it ended pretty damn well imo. If they pull the same crap again I think I might just watch it on Youtube. Also for Gods sake Telltale bring back rewind, for everyone who apparently didnt use rewind who the hell even thought about touching crowd play?

Well I certainly am. I don't think I'll ever miss out on a Telltale game. Not to mention that I actually love ANF.

EDIT: Though I haven't played Minecraft yet.

  • Lol nope Telltale can go fuck themselves after this shit. Waste of money. They also lie all the time of what to expect and always end up letting people down

I don't know, each Season the games have gotten shorter, the characters have gotten less development, determinant characters kept getting treated worse and worse, interactions with characters have continued to be limited, all puzzle solving game-play is gone and little side missions with little effects barely appear. It seems like each Season the quality (even graphics-wise to some degree) goes down, the length goes down but the price goes up. If this is what I'm to expect from Telltale for a fourth season and their current and future games, then I'm not sure I'm willing to support them unless I see allot of love over improvements from the fan base.

P.S. Next time, please don't lie about how amazing your games are, at least tell us the good parts that are actually true.

  • Simply No.....The plot is unsavable at this point and provided no closure. AJ is still the plot device for Clem so probably no...even if Clem's the main protaginist. I'll probably stick to watching gameplay if I can get myself to because I can barely get myself to watch playthroughs of season 2

  • I will buy it, even though a lot of people seemed to dislike it. I really liked this season and will most likely buy every 'Walking dead' season they come out with haha

  • Maybe if they release all the episodes on time for once

  • Nah not buying it they can keep their lies.

One of the worst games I have bought and I bought season pass what a waste and I can say with confidence this is worst telltale game and yeah I don't even talk about how short are episodes it's cash grab didn't expect it from telltale I really had faith in them shame really. I'm sure I won't be buying next walking dead series unless I see some improvements

  • In my opinion that episode was amazing! Hell yeah I'll buy the next game!

  • If telltale wants to put you in the hands of multiple people they should solely reserve that for tales from the border lands and game of thrones. Clem should be the mc in every walking dead game until her story is completely told. Have her find a good community with goofball and leave it at that. Then telltale could introduce a new mc but just one not two main characters because it doesn't work well for the walking dead. Maybe they could go back to Javi after Clem's story is told.

  • Definitely NO! I bought S1 and S2 , will not give this company any more money , the people they have working for them haven't a clue , they are so far gone they are unrecognisable from the heights of season one .

The poll number is just what they want to hear , they are laughing at the people who will buy it ,they will continue to churn this garbage out when people keep on paying for it .

  • Can't really apply my opinion in that poll. I won't pre order it, but I will buy it if Clementine returns as the protagonist, but Telltale's marketing will determine when I buy it.

  • I won't preorder it, but otherwise, it's a maybe.

  • No. :/ I won't be buying any more unless Batman season 2 is out but I'm going to wait until it's over cause it'll probably be all about Joker and I hate him.

  • Last Telltale game I ever buy. I'm even a bit apprehensive about watching Season 4 on a YouTube playthrough after this.

  • I will. Even if S4 (Or "the real S3") is just milking the Clem cow now. (No rhythm intended)

  • Nope, I'll probably just watch a walkthrough after this wreck of a season.

  • I will.

  • Probably not. Wasn't a fan of this story and the engine this game was on. If they continue this style of writing with a barely working game, then no.

  • Disregarding Kenny & Jane, I actually liked the game. The "I love you." scene with Javi/David in 305 is really emotional and I love both of them. I think the game as a stand alone is great. I think the game is bad as a continuation of the series. I definitely like the story, but I will never forgive what they did to Kenny. Either way, I will buy the next game because of my love for The Walking Dead and Clementine. I hope they learn. I won't ever get attached to another character like I am with Kenny, Lee, and Clem. I hope Clem is the main focus for next season.

  • If they reboot with completely different characters and new writers AND I see reviews that say that they either made hubs again, or found some way for the game to be interactive again, maybe I'll be convinced.

Otherwise, maybe if it goes on sale for like $5.

  • I won't pre-order but that's because I very rarely pre-order games. Injustice: Gods Among Us, Mass Effect Andromeda and Dishonored 2 are the only ones I've pre-ordered. I'd be open to a continuation. Preferably if it revolves around Clementine.

  • Did I love ANF?

    No.

Do I still think it is an okay game?

    Yes.

    I'm getting the next game.

  • I dont think I will even watch gameplay.

    omfg.. yes you will

  • If it's about Clementine, then i'm game. Clementine has been one of the most dynamic characters i've ever seen, and that's amazing from Telltale. It Telltale make Clementine a DLC, it would be the worst mistake these guys ever make. Clementine is ESSENTIAL to the walking dead.

  • I am not a fan of this season. It's an okay story I guess, but I feel very betrayed with this playable-flashbacks Clementine and AJ-quest thing. It's practically robbing and false advertising for season three, and now they are luring me into buying yet another installment for Clem? Besides, okay-story is not good enough, Telltale can do better, I've seen it.

So, I'll be watching dlc/season 4 from distance, and in case Telltale will be great again, I'll sure buy it. But for now I'll stick to a "no".
