No, not as a main character...but the few actual out gay/bi side-characters from video games I can come up with are:
-Vamp from Metal Gear Solid
-the 2 lesbo's from Laura Bow 2
-Jolly Roger from Banjo Tooie (the frog bartender)
-The guy in the beauty competition from Day of the Tentacle (Harold?)
still, Roger Wilco is 10 times more gay then Threepwood when it comes down to wearing a dress
screenshot (he even seems supercomfy in it xD good for him)
Okay, why not? I think this whole era of keeping gay people away from any film/TV shows/games that kids might be seeing needs to end. It's really not something that should be hidden away and treated as taboo.
It seems equally as foolish to pointedly create gay characters just because they can. "Hey look how politically correct we are! Black guy: check. Asian guy: Check. Gay guy Check. Viking: Check"

I know but I ment with the adult theme thats in TMI it would be fit in well

Not really, and to say that the person can be openly gay in the game wouldn't fit. Straight characters aren't openly heterosexual, unless you assume that being fit or masculine represents straight people, which is not the case in the real world. The sexuality of most of the characters is never brought up, they could be gay or straight.
And the idea that the game would attract gay people simply because there is a gay character is ridiculous to me. People should play it for the story and the reputation, not by the sexual orientation of the characters. I mean think about: If you asked a gay person, "would you be more inclined to play this game over this one because of gay characters", it sounds like a ridiculous and insulting question.
Seriously, there's no point, unless it adds something to the story. Most people aren't gay so most stories won't be about gay people. Walk-on characters or side characters generally don't have a need to reveal their sexuality, for all you know Bugeye could be gay but he didn't reveal it to you.
Conservatives are usually more upset about all of the politics behind putting gays in stories / games than anything having to do with gay people themselves. So, if there's no reason...

Ofcourse gay people would prefer a story with which they could relate to better. Whenever a homosexual character is introduced in a soap or other sort of tv-series the gay-ratings accelerate (as is shown by multiple dutch soap series for instance). When writers go all Disney on their stories there would be less curiousity towards it from the gay community. People tend to identify themselves with characters.
I'd say no for the simple fact that it would bring out all the homophobes. You know the "I'm so straight because I hate gay people"
Those usually dream about a big... ekhm, say, in their tight... well, you know ; )
If you know your own value, you don't need to hate other sexual orientation \ nation \ race or anything. Homophobes, xenophobes or racists are usualy just little, lost pricks who think beeing heterosexual \ white \ black \ so-on makes them better. I don't feel better beeing heterosexual or white. It's just how I am and there's no reason to be proud of it.
J. Rowling stated that Dumbledore was a gay. I don't mind gay characters in games, books or movies. If it fits - bring it in!

The concept of males wearing a dress for comedy without implying homosexuality has been around since the forties and earlier.
woah, the stuff you learn on forums
it's been around since the ancient greeks even, where only men were to play in the theatres (including female roles)
I wasn't really trying to make a point tho, it's just funny that two point n click games include a main character crossdressing
if they did, there goes my interest of the series. Seriously. I already don't like the "adult" humor they already have. If they introduced a gay character... just no. Absolutely freaking not.
Being gay doesn't make a game "adult". Okay, I don't want there to be up the arse jokes or anything like that, but how is having a gay couple any different to having a straight one such as Guybrush and Elaine?
the main char in fear affect was a lesbian. not sure about male chars tho. seems the video game world is fine with lesbians i wonder why.... as for male chars.. i would havto say i think luigi was gay
gay is not equal funny... I found johny depp too gay in pirates (even though he was supposed to act drunk) to enjoy the movie. I'm not against gay people, but I'm getting tired of them popping up everywhere nowadays just because they want to make a point.
People reject what they don't understand, and few people understand things that they cannot identify with.
American Dad had an interesting (and very funny) episode regarding this idea. The main thing that you see being promoted in the media lately, regarding the subject, is something like: "Woah! They're people too!".
Unfortunately, most people are not as open minded.
I want to say it'd be pretty funny if they went with someone who was (so obviously?) gay but didn't know about it/ever admit it, but we'd probably end-up with Smithers.
Anyways, this is part of the reason I like Van Winslow so much. I think it'd be funny to find-out at the end that he was horrified to learn that he'd kissed the female merfolk, or maybe have him being disgusted by the females, but think they are males. Something like that.

You're confusing gay with camp. Johnny Depp acted camp, he didn't act "gay".
Gay people exist. Get over it. If they pop up it's BECAUSE they exist, not because people are trying to make a point.
I like it when a person in a movie or video game is gay but not like really overdone in a pink shirt, lisp ECT. Kind of way. Like captain jack from doctor who/ torchwood. He is bisexual and I thought it was kool, because it was just stuff like thinking the doctor was hot but yet thought women are hot too. It was kool because lots of kids watch that show and they weren’t scared to expose kids to it like a lot of other shows

Doctor Who's a good example actually, and not just because of Captain Jack. People in the current series are constantly dropping in matter-of-fact references to their sexuality, and not in a "look-at-me-I'm-gay" way. Things like "We're not sisters, we're married", a woman referring to an ex as "she", that kind of thing. this is partly because the lead writer, Russell T Davies, is gay himself, but it's done in quite a subtle way so that it seems like a universe where there are gays, but they don't spend the whole time acting like a stereotype (unless they're John Barrowman). Nevertheless, anyone who's been within 10 miles of a Doctor Who forum will know how well some of the fans take that, with cries of "RTD HAS A GAY AGENDA!!!!!!!!111!!" anywhere you turn. The man's writing has a lot of flaws, but this really isn't one of them.
Torchwood, on the other hand, is the complete opposite, forcing the idea of bisexuality down our throats (pun heavily intended) to the extent that we have a world where everyone is bisexual and have to shag an alien once a week for ratings. Children of Earth was sublime though.

I have to admit that episode 12, »Captain Jack Harkness«, was my favorite one of season 1. What a nice »Awww!«-moment at the end… There, I said it!

I like the fact that guys can like the episode as well. Leaving gender aside, I think the episode was not only heartwarming but also really well-strctured and well-written.

Hmmmm, I'll have to rewatch that one someday. My only memories of Series 1 were bad ones, to be honest, so maybe I let a good episode be soured by the rest of the series.
that shows how to have funny gay charecters who arnt steriotypes
Captain Jack isn't a stereotype, but the actor who plays him DEFINITELY is: John "I get my balls out every chance I get" Barrowman. I'm not even making that up, it's well known.

Yeah, well. He's the one claiming to shag everything with a postcode, so...

It's a shame though that often in films/shows/games they include characters who aren't white, fully-abled and straight in order to further the storyline or it's seen as some sort of statement.
I see your point, there's certainly no need to include a gay character just because they haven't already but if they did I hope people wouldn't automatically assume that was the reason for it.
Why on Earth do we need to know the sexual preference of monkey island characters? For all we know Murray, the grave digger, STan, etc etc...are raging homosexuals...
Do we really need an openly gay pirate? I don't think gay was as expressive and dramatic back in the day of witch burnings and all that sort of thing.

That's because you're a gamer, and most of the people you know well enough to know if they're gay/lesbian are of course also gonna be gamers.
that's just not true

It wouldn't bug me if they had a gay character... but I think it would ruffle some other peoples feathers.

Yes, both the hero's in Wolfenstien & DOOM were gay.
Duke Nukem 3d brought the 3d shooter realm to the homophobic, as the first non-gay hero in a 3d shooter.

Is this real?? How can you tell?
NOTE: I never finished any of those games. Did I miss some details?
now there's an awesome way to put gay in some series!

In what era is MI supposed to be set I wonder. Off-topic, but has a particular timeframe ever been specified?
