"A shocking revelation that will rock the world of MI"

edited November 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
Brace yourself for a shocking revelation that will rock the world of Monkey Island to its core.

...taken from the synopsis of EP4.

Who else is a little anxious about this revelation being one of the "Herman Toothrot is really Elaine's grandfather" - sort of revelation? Because I sure hope it isn't. I can't remember exactly, but there have been explanations why this relatedness does not work with regards to the prehistory of Monkey Island (the period of time before Guybrush actually makes his first appearance).

So far, Telltale is doing a great job with how the develop the plot, I just hope that there won't be any, let's call them "unclean twists" like the above mentioned in EMI. Anyone with me?

What's your guess? What will the world - rocking revelation be about?

I think the "Herman actually is Grandpa Marley" thing wasn't that ugly. It's like "Luke, I AM your father" kind of twist. Quite logical and inevitable.

lechuck being guybrush's brother is more logical than that...

im not worried too. because telltale isnt the creator of monkey island i dont think they will have anything that the fans will hate. lucasarts can make a plot twist and if ppl dont like it its kinda tough luck. telltale has more respect for the fans in my opinion

Maybe it has something to do with "The Mouth" that the Voodoo Lady talked about at the start of Chapter 3? She says the pox has awakened a terrible monster (or something to that effect).

I really have no idea, but get the feeling it's going to be a lot of fun finding out... :D

Have we seen DeSinge and LeChuck in one scene? If not, DeSinge might be LeChuck. I have been uberly busy lately so I can't really remember whether it would fit.

Maybe LeChuck and Elaine really got married originally before LeChuck first set off to Monkey Island! :p

You know, that's exactly what I thought when I read about this "revelation".
Well, that would be improbable because he was trying to marry her in Monkey 1, but they could've been lovers before LeChuck died... or Elaine wasn't probably THAT cold to him before he died. :p

So true! I'm not sure how exactly to prove that Toothrot can't be Grandpa Marley, but it was about something in EMI that totally made no sense...
Didn't they claim something like Grandpa Marley had been gone for 20 years, and Elaine has been governor ever since? Just doesn't make sense, because Elaine can't be that old. We don't know how old she is, I'd guess she's a few years older than Guybrush, but she can't be old enough to have been governor for 20 years.

Anyways, I'm also a little anxious about this "revelation" to come, not in a "EMI trauma" kind of way, but... I don't know... I'm just a little scared of what it might be.

Maybe... Guybrush's beard is fake?!?

:D No, just kidding. Seriously, I have absolutely no idea, and the suspense is killing me!

Morgan is the love child of LeChuck and Elaine. Elaine was a little wild before being mean to LeChuck.

I think whoever suggested in the other thread that the Voodoo Lady is the villain was probably onto something...

Agreed, I've got some suspicions that she may be evil (judging from the small intros before each episode). I really hope she isn't though.

Or perhaps it was a typo... it was meant to be THE PIRATE DOG

or maybe RISE OF THE PYRITE GOD?
