Murray is the long lost brother of Mort from Planescape:Torment.
(actually that's not shocking at all...)

I definitely think there's something about the Voodoo Lady we're yet to find out. For now I'm willing to go with the Voodoo LadyMan theory. :D

What's your guess? What will the world - rocking revelation be about?

It turns out that Elaine is preggo with a lil' Guybrush baby?

Guybrush and Morgan are really brother and sister although they don't know it.
and don't forget Elaine, she's family too. It's just like Empire Strikes Back Luke and Leia kissing scene on Hoth. After you know, it's hard not to be a little creeped out by that.

Maybe the voodoo lady has been possessed the whole time (like in EP3 with the voodoo locket thing), and whoever is controlling her is deliberately misguiding Guybrush in their evil plan to take over the Caribbean...

    Whoever could it be??

They should throw in a pirate that looks like Ron Gilbert that would be funny

    Nor Treblig

Maybe he gets sick of being a Voodoo deity and decides to rise as a pirate god. All that pox-sponge work for nothing.

Wouldn't that be a little too Pirates of the Caribbean?

For all those not able to put their finger on why HT can't be HTM: in SMI, HT knew who he was when he got to the island and he had a first mate; in MI2, we discover HTM was aboard the Elaine (not Mad Monkey) when sailing the America's Cup and mysteriously disappeared; in CMI, LeChuck tells Guybrush he killed him (not Ozzy).

Must be the monkeys or the Voodoo Lady. I think to "shake the MI world to the core", it would have to be related to the other games (so nothing to do with Morgan or DeSinge). I don't buy the relation nonsense. The fans have already shown open dislike to the first two we've had. NO CHILDREN!

The Voodoo lady is Bosco's Great, Great, Great, Grandmother, and Stan is the Great, Great, Great, Grandfather.

    LeChuck is Guybrush's father brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.

Maybe Guybrush actually dies. For real.

Then we get to play as Guybrush in the underworld until he comes back to life, AKA, the rise of the Pirate God.

Sam and Max did it, why not Guybrush?

Although I agree that HT=HTM doesn't work... Here are the reasons in more detail. :D

SMI: Toothrot is described by his unnamed friend and captain during their journey to Monkey Island on the Mad Monkey. No time period is given for their trip.
    Grandpa Marley is never mentioned.

MI2: Grandpa Marley is first introduced. He discovers Big Whoop, splits the map, and leaves, later vanishing in the America's Cup race while he was in the lead. Again, no time period is given for this. Also, we are never told his name beyond 'Captain Marley'. I don't remember if the name of his ship is ever given, but no way could it have possibly been the Mad Monkey.

CMI: LeChuck tells us that he killed Captain Marley himself by pushing his ship into a whirlpool after Marley refused to allow him to marry Elaine... and after torturing him quite heavily. He also says that he ran into the crew on Blood Island while they were still searching for Big Whoop, which he also says is actually on Monkey Island itself and not Dinky Island as MI2 said.

On top of that, in EMI mutiple characters tell us that Grandpa Marley (who is now named) died specifically off the coast of Australia. Toothrot/Marley tells us in his cutscene that it was Ozzie that pushed him into a whirlpool and that he washed up on 'a' beach... it's only once in dialogue later that he claims to have washed up on Monkey Island directly. :D

Guybrush realises that he and LeChuck are one and the same, so it was actually him that started Fight Club.

If we look at non-duality in philosophy, you are correct. But then Guybrush and Elaine are also the same person and that's gross.

Furthermore, the game is just an illusion, so I can sit easier now (as can all of you reading this, seeing as we're one and the same :p).

Couldn't it just be that the Voodoo lady has been the main source of mischief since the beginning? Everybody is already guessing it anyways...

It would make sense to me. She told Guybrush how to dispose of LeChuck in SMI because he'd be heading over there anyway and he was getting on her nerves. Then she could brag about killing him herself (remember what Largo said?).

She came to realise she needed his evil to overshadow her own, so she set about on a new plan. Do we really know Largo bullied her too? We only have her word on that. She could easily have disposed of him herself if she'd wanted to. She knew in MI2 that Guybrush would unwittingly bring LeChuck back to life if he
confronted Largo with a voodoo doll
. She lured him to Big Whoop.

And there was probably an easier way of getting Elaine uncursed in CMI. As for EMI, how can she not have known Monkey Island
would have the ingredients to the Ultimate Insult
    ?

Basically, Guybrush has been her puppet for too long. But recent events (she seemed genuinely surprised and angry when Guybrush told her what happened just before Flotsam) have caused her to get more actively involved. So she may be forced to play her hand very soon.

CMI: ... He also says that he ran into the crew on Blood Island while they were still searching for Big Whoop, which he also says is actually on Monkey Island itself and not Dinky Island as MI2 said.

Technically, the CMI explanation is that Big Whoop is under Monkey Island, and fits this with the fact that Big Whoop is where the underground tunnels in MI2 lead to, and MI2 didn't actually reveal big whoop as being necessarily ON dinky Island (dethe tunnels leading to the BW carnival could technically come out anywhere spite characters certainly believing this), and (The elevator leading up to Melee Island either being a strange indication of how close dinky is to melee or another indicator of the large distance the tunnels possibly cover or just the effects of the spell).

SMI: Toothrot is described by his unnamed friend and captain during their journey to Monkey Island on the Mad Monkey.
It's the Sea Monkey, not Mad Monkey.
And yeah, Captain Marley (Elaine's grandfather) and his crew were on a ship called Elaine. (MI2)
Grandpa Marley was never said to be governor and his name was never mentioned in the first 3 games, he was just referred to as "Captain Marley". So, these are the reasons why the "H.T." explanation doesn't make sense.

    As for the Voodoo Lady...

No, she couldn't. Because she can't get up from her chair. :D
Makes me wonder how she could move from Mêlée to Scabb to Plunder to Mêlée again and to Flotsam, though...

Anyways, it would really be a shocking, world(-of-MI)-rocking revelation if the Voodoo Lady was evil. But I hope she isn't... But what could it be...?

Elaine divorces Guybrush and so he marries Morgan. Or Elaine dies and then he marries Morgan.

Guybrush dies, and the only way to revive him is to find a living piece of him, a la Monkey Island 2. The living piece is, of course, his severed hand. I think these things will happen, and I think somehow the big revelation is going to hinge around these events.

She can't get out of her chair now because she's too fat. Who's to say she wasn't more mobile before she moved to Flotsam? I reckon the Flotsam inhabitants have been feeding her up.

    On the other hand...

Maybe she wants to take over the Caribbean but can only do it through Guybrush (and maybe LeChuck) because she can't leave her chair?

If that happens, either they'll have to do it in a long cutscene or you play as someone else. If the latter, the fans won't welcome it.
