I gotta admit.
I look forward to the spitting competition.
The thing I look forward to most in an MI2:SE is the songs Bart and Fink sing. What tunes will they be set to? Will they actually record all 9999 verses of "Bottles of Beer"?
But I'm getting off topic. Thank you, Dom, not only for your wonderful performance, but for being one of us. For being a fan. It does my heart good to know that you're just as excited to say Guybrush's lines as I am to hear them.
Dominic, you are a true gentleman. If Guybrush was real, he would be proud to have you as his voice
If Guybrush was real, he wouldn't need a voiceover, he would have his own voice!
Still, thanks for the wonderful work, Dom. We hope we haven't heard the last time from you like it happened to that Bobbin guy...you know...the one with the hood and that magic stick...uh... *insert CMI humour disc here*
Thanks for everything and we're hoping you'll be here for another 5+X episodes and MANY, MANY more Monkey Island games.
Outstanding and truly incredible work, your love and passion for the character made us the audience feel every emotion you delievered, we all rooted for you through out the chapters and the monkey island series, in a way your a great inspiration to us all Dom, knowing that youve been a Monkey Island fan from day one, that the passion you had for the series and the character won you the audition to play Guybrush, it was the love and determination that got you there, which gives us hope in the sense that if we really want something we can all achieve it, as long as we have that same passion and drive, anyway...keep up the Outstanding work, and to be honest i doubt this would be the end of Guybrush, which means we'll see you soon swashbuckling your way back to us....also i like to end this message with a BIG THANK YOU!!! to you Dom for bringing this character to life
I hate to clog up the 'tubes with another thank you thread, but with chapter five imminent and Monkey Island once again about to sail off into the sunset until who-knows-when (me included!), I just wanted to take a moment to thank everybody who loves the series and has made its resurrection so exciting.
It probably goes without saying, but even if I hadn't been a huge fan of Monkey Island before getting to work on it, I can't imagine it not being the highlight of my time in voiceover. There's nothing else I've worked on where people love it so much, where they're so involved in its process, and where the stakes are so high... and the pressure so great :-)
But all of you have been incredibly kind and supportive, and while I imagined there would be a lot of excitement when Monkey Island's return was announced, reality has most definitely eclipsed my wildest expectations. The excitement, the support, the throngs at PAX, the e-mails, the drawings, the movies... criminy, the birthday wishes!...well, it's a thing to behold :-)
So I'm going to cut this short before I really start to ramble, but suffice it to say that while I appreciate the things you've had to say, I'm the one who should be thanking you, because I've been incredibly lucky to be able to work on Guybrush all these years, and it wouldn't mean anything without your support.
You guys absolutely rock, and I (really, really, really) hope we get to do this again soon!
-Dom
Well, thank you too! You have a brilliant voice and MI would not be the same without you.
Oh Mr Armato... your voice can soothe me like no other. Best. Voiceover artist. Ever. And you take the time to post on the fora, which are currently swarming with crazed fans like myself... You truly are a mighty pirate.
I'm not sure if I can even express how excited I would be to get my hands on that. I don't even have a GPS system in my car, but - no joke - I would be willing to buy one and pay anything to get an official Guybrush GPS navigator. The hilarity that would ensue with Threepwood commentary... why, I think everyone should have one. Road rage would be a thing of the past!
You're such an awesome down-to-earth guy for writing this kind of thing. Thanks for doing the thing you do Dom. I still have lines from CoMI that you would probably find stale or insignificant printed into my memory because of how connected it is to my childhood. Monkey Island is simply the best. I feel the 21st century really has been a time for people to look back at previous franchises and think "god I wish they'd do it again". Some people seems to have picked up on it and done a few cheap shots at it to earn the extra cash, and it has often somewhat ruined the way I look at the franchises because you start going "oh, was it just the nostalgia?"
BUT, the fact that Monkey Island returned this year has been such a surreal and awesome experience. There hasn't been a single thing to be dissapointed over this. I was so sceptical when the first trailer arrived, and I thought this wouldn't be that big a deal, but it's all just turned out to be so... sweet. The writing has been so clever, the concept art has been top-notch, Michael Land did the music and the voice acting has been brilliantly pure to the series root. The only thing I had to complain over was really the absence of Earl Boen, but Telltale seems to have fixed that too! Really, I am blown away beyond belief.
Still, even if Telltale have some of the orginial writers, musicians, a brilliant concept dude and Dr. Silberman, I think it all would've fallen appart if you hadn't been involved. You still bring a very light-hearted and joyfull feel to the games that I don't think anybody else could. You still make those brilliant deliveries of lines wich was proven to me when I tried examining rocks in the Jerkbait Islands and had Guybrush repeat the same sentance in such a varied and yet amusing way I had never thought possible
Anyway, I think my point is that I often waltz around wishing people from old companies would get back together and bring back awesome stuff from my childhood, and Monkey Islands return was really an dream coming true. Even if there would never be a Monkey Island game again, I would still be so happy and satisfied that you guys all made the effort to make this happen. I'm not spoiled. I got my Monkey Island 5. Finally. Never thought it'd happen, but it did. Thank you
I guess i'm probably really late getting this in for it to be read by Dominic himself, but still anyway.
Thank you Dominic no one else could have given a more suitable voice and performance as Guybrush. Thank you for hours and hours of endless fun you truly made the Monkey Island series memorable. I hope to we can all hear you again soon playing our fave swashbuckler.
Dom, I've been a fan for many years and as has been said already, I'd really love to hear that you have reprised the role once more in much, MUCH less than nine years time :P
Thank you so much for supplying the best voice to the funniest character of all time - let's hope for more brand new Monkey Island, and a MI2 Special Edition as well of course!
Thank you Dom! So much! You bringing Guybrush to life has not only proved a invaluable part of my childhood, teenage years and now hopefully onwards.
I think I speak on behalf of all MI fans when I say this revival would not have felt complete without your role within in.
Wish you ALL the luck in the future, have a very merry christmas, a amazing New Year and hope we get to do this all over again very sooon!
So heres a MASSIVE thank you to you, Dominic Armato. Mighty Voice!
i also want to add to the public display of dominic love! i was absolutely terrified to be on this project but the moment i heard dominic take a garbage line of dialog i was responsible for and put it through his make-it-awesome-guybrush-filter, i knew it was going to be alllllright. thanks dom, you're a consummate pro and a truly great guy.

Seeing as i'm usually an evil person, this is rare for me.
Just seeing as you posted here makes you seem like a down-to-earth kind of guy and close to the community.
As if i didn't appreciate you enough after your work as guybrush...
Guys, you said everything I wanted to say! Thanx for everything, Dom, really, what else can I say. You bring my favorite hero to life.
Now, where do I sign up for a Dominic action figure? Make sure you get yourself a cameo in Season 2.
Thank you again Dominic, for bringing Guybrush to life in the TOMI series. Yet another wonderful game, made that much better by your involvement. Also to everyone concerned in making the game, a really big thank you, and let's hope we don't have to wait very long for a second season. It's a little early but Merry Christmas everybody!
No thank you Dominic. I have enjoyed your excellent work on Guybrush since Curse of Monkey Island and i must say "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE VOICE OF GUYBRUSH" Anyway I hope to see (or hear) more of your nice work in the future, whether it will be in games or movies (Monkey island the movie, pretty please...with sugar on top)
Thank you Mr. Armato, for giving Guybrush his voice. From the first time I heard Guybrush speak when Curse was released I knew the voice was "just right". May you be called back into action for season 2 real soon.
Happy holidays!
PS
I just love the "mm no" line, so happy you managed to use it in Tales as well.
Ever since Curse I've found myself uttering it sometimes

And try to get together with Morgan, she deserves it!

Can't imagine Guybrush being the witty chap that he is without your magnificent voice.
Hope there's more MI for you in the future, and until then, you'll be sorely missed .
Happy holidays!

Without you, your voice my life would be... sadder (gosh, is it regular verb?).
Best wishes and again - big THX!
