Well considering that the "dream" provides a map on how to move inside the Fortress, a place Guybrush doesn't even know it exists, I think we can rule out it being just a mere dream.
Maybe a voodoo induced vision caused by the Voodoo Lady?
I think LeChuck made the vision. He had a trap in the place Guybrush was lead to and all.
ok... i just took a closer look on some scrennshots of the SE.
and they actually even managed to mess up the first screen:
original
SE
well whats wrong with that picture?
1. orignally the wall looked like cement, now it looks more like a cave
2. steelrods inside the cement now look like roots(the hole)
3. Elain looks like Lara Croft

Hey remember when that film, The Shawshank Redemption? That was totally messed up because the lighting in the last-but-one scene was less realistic than it could have been. It's a shame too, that film could have been pretty good.
i hope they allow you to mix the old music with the new graphics and they use the original roland music and not the soundblaster music as the roland music was much better and i never actually got to play mi2 with the roland soundtrack only ever soundblaster! i prefered secrets original cd sound track (and the amiga for that matter!) to the new music they produced to the special edition as well.

They'll probably use whichever music was in the last released build of MI2, as they did with MI1. But as it was made up of midis played by your PC, and sounded different depending on what kind of soundcard or software you had, it's complicated. I would've thought they'd use either the highest quality MIDI setting, the default version, used by ScummVM, or they'd allow you to choose between soundtracks.

The last build of MI2 has all the same music drivers as the first build. And more than likely they'll have the Adlib soundtrack. There's no way they'll use the Roland soundtrack because that would require emulating an MT-32 which is hard and also legally questionable. MAYBE they might put in an MT-32 to General MIDI converter for the music and you can play the game through Windows MIDI but I doubt it.
On a different topic, it occurs to me that ToMI downloads and SMI:SE were announced at about the same time, and now it seems that ToMI DVD's and MI2LR:SE are also announced at the same time.
Is it me or does it seem like, in both cases, TellTale is determined not to have the release of the SE games or ToMI overshadow each other?

While there's nothing wrong with such a converter, there still should be the option to output just the unaltered MT-32 MIDI, since there are people owning an actual MT-32.
On the other hand, it doesn't really matter if they got the iMuse digital version right. They did for MI1SE, except for the Melee forest maze, which still sounds strange to me with those half tempo chords.
MI1 didn't have iMuse. Or at least the enhanced version that later games had. All MI1 had was looping tracks. But yeah, they did screw up that Forest theme on Melee. I was very disappointed in that.
At least the diskette versions did. I know they did, I've played the EGA version. The PC CD version did not, because the music was redbook audio (meaning you could play the MI music from the disc in a CD player)
I haven't tested the classic mode of SMI:SE, though.
Look at Elaine here, she looks mad, yet no one complains.
I don't think she looks mad at all. Her eyebrows are kind of arched but her brow isn't even slightly furrowed, which makes me think that you're seeing her as mad because of the shape of her eyebrows.
I'd have thought Steve Purcell knows enough about anatomy to draw an angry face properly, and this picture shows no qualities of an angry face (most noticeably, the lips and eyebrows look completely relaxed), so I doubt he wanted it to look angry.

?
I'm sure MI2 was the first game to use iMuse and it was developed because Land didn't like the way music was handled in MI1.
No it didn't, really. iMuse was introduced in MI2 and in the SCUMM v5 engine. The floppies were v4. And while the enhanced CD was upgraded to v5 (which the MI1SE is based on), so the engine actually has iMuse, the game doesn't use it.

I don't like it... I'm sorry, but without the concrete and the pipes the meaning of the game (the amusement park) changes too much... am I wrong?
I never thought of the amusement park in that scene(s). Indeed, this scene is on Dinky, while the amusement park is supposed to be under Monkey Island. (According to CMI at least, and that's about all we know).
While they used the original drawings in the other shots, it is obvious why they didn't here: They wanted a picture which better fits a 16:9 aspect ratio. Not exactly the best choice, but I don't think, that it destroys the story either.
I find it far more odd that Guybrush is holding the chest the other way around, and Elaine is dressed completely different.
It saddens me seeing many people whining about getting MI2 SE out and now that is announced you all burry it before it even comes out!! We are millions. Lucasarts cannot please everyone. Give them a break they are doing a great job and if you don't like it then don't play the damn game.

Ok, I'll put it under spoiler.
In my opinion is different.
Well, it's all an amusement park. If you remember, the undergrond tunnell of Dinky, the one where Le Chuck is chasing Guybrush with the voodoo doll, is the manteinance tunnell of the park.
So if you change the conrete and pipes with rock and roots, all the meaning changes.

Right, of course they did.

I said probably not definitely.
Or if you refer to the trap in the fortress... that should be pretty known if you played LCR.
How does she look anything like this.
She looks way better than the first SE Elaine to me, in fact so far it's-
CMI>MI2:LCR:SE>SMI>TMI>EMI>SMI:SE>MI2:LCR

How come you think the MI1 design is so much better than the MI2 design when they're both the same sprite?

Yeah. Funny how it says Video Preview 1, isn't it? I'm just looking forward to getting some kind of trailer.

The MI2:SE version doesn't look too much like that though, which is too bad.
Elaine: Well, well, well. Guybrush Threepwood. You do turn up in the strangest places.
Guybrush: Err, Hi Elaine.
It's more a face of disapproval.

I've never had to quote myself before..but.
It's none of what you guys said. It's a face of interest and curiosity. She's obviously trying to figure this kid out.

I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing it out.

I guess, it saves some money when they do the campaign together instead of each company doing their own. There's nothing wrong with it.

Like I said. Read all of my post.
I'm new so please be kind
About the pictures:
I don't like it... I'm sorry, but
I fear that who drew the remake didn't know anything about the original game... that is just sad...
I'm not a troll, I just want this remake to be the best possible.
Sorry for my bad english, but I'm Italian
