I can't even describe what the hell I'm seeing regarding the 3DS at the Nintendo World conference. What is this, I don't even. asdfgasdfgh

What do you mean. YOU SAW THE 3DS!
  • edited January 2011
The conference was showing new stuff. Now they're showing the most amazing game footage...or should I say they're forcing us to watch other people play the games for minutes at a time without showing any damn footage!

Now they're playing Kid Icarus and laughing and having fun! I can't take this anymore! Kill! Kill! Kill! Mame! Decapitate! Kill! Mutilate! Fatality! Hadouken! FOUNTAINS OF BLOOD!
  • edited January 2011
Yeah, I hate how we have to see prerecorded (AND repeating) footage of Japanese comedians until the next event starts in like 2 hours =/

Admittedly I laughed a lot when the one dude started up Dead or Alive then went OHHHHHH! HO! AHHHHH OOH OOH AHHHHH! It was practically orgasmic.

    With those 3D boobs? Understandable.
  • edited January 2011
So instead of gameplay footage, they are showing people playing the games with no footage of the games.

Ok Nintendo has a crappy marketing department.
  • edited January 2011
Eh, I think it's just too Japanese for us, besides the event is for people in Japan to actually try the 3DS, not for us to watch if for hours and hours. They do have events that they'll stream (today MGS, tomorrow RE), but that's in 1 hour+.

Also, saw the waiting times right now for the demos

No one wants to try out Winning Eleven XD

EDIT: Oh hey, a music event. Nice.

The live Nintendo music is very enjoyable.

I'm upset with Nintendo. For the Rock Band 2 import, Harmonix withheld the 9 songs by Harmonix bands, to be released as free DLC later. Well, the Harmonix Pack went live on Tuesday...for Xbox and PS3 only. Turns out that Nintendo has axed free DLC and was the only one of the three that didn't authorize the pack when it was submitted.

Also, I'm upset that the store didn't have the kind of Nyquil and Dayquil I wanted. I wanted the sinus one, not the cold and flu! I'm fortunate enough that my cold has left my lungs almost completely untouched.

I have a really hard time forming opinions anymore because they're pointless. Even if I have a opinion it's not factual, it's not actually relevant. There's no real basis, concrete evidence that my opinion is validated to myself and especially others. Opinions are so contrived, insecure, they put the mind in a state of vulnerability, weakness. They are subjective and closed minded....Even how I perceive my own opinions others are likely to perceive my own opinions differently than I perceive them and then in turn I'm going to perceive differently how they perceive I perceive my opinions...

    I can't function like this...

What's the point, every one can have an opinion, but they aren't validated unless they're facts...
What's the point of facing reality subjectively, and narrowing your mind to the social constructs of self, identity, when in fact you're validated by a psychical reality and "facts"? Self and identity may be validated by existence, not by mind, not by how you observe and perceive the very existence that you live and breathe...

Why use words that aren't factual, that are a form of expression? Why create these thoughts within that create a piece of programming, create something that's merely socially relevant to you? Why use words that can rely on a certain personal context and yet manipulate and alter the original context you've used them for? There may be no personal identity...

    Responses

"You contradict yourself, if no one stated or even thought of their opinion then no one would ever think "could this be true" which is how a lot of the facts we have today came to be. Also this world is balanced, without opinions there would be no facts. Laters ;)"

"Perhaps we do so in order to establish an identity around out personal ideas-and the more these ideas, or opinions, resemble facts, the more valid they seem and the more potent they are in serving this purpose. When something like this becomes commonplace, it just seems ignorant NOT to humor them.

Well, those are my thoughts, at least."

"You really got me confused with a lot of reiteration here. :)
However, basically, opinions are opinions. It operates in the subjective spaces of thoughts that are not composed and supported by great amount data. Opinions can be a product of bias and perception, and since it's very quiddity exists in the realms of subjectivity, then it constantly changes. So try not to worry and tire yourself in thinking of such things as it's its very nature.

    INTERESTING!
"All social facts have both objective and subjective elements:

    http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1O88-actiontheory.html

for Weber's concept of the difference between behaviour (the objective fact) and action (behaviour that is always interpreted)

Because we are humans not machines . Our behaviour has both objective and subjective meaning.

Helping an old lady across the street migh be very insulting to that old lady

personal experience of being an elderly professor in China and thus being the subject of unwanted and demeaning care in crossing roads."

What I'm trying to get at I think is that the words we use may be a summization of other words/ ideas and with the context of words the meaning and value of words can change. If may all be in the "selection process of words" Why we choose words may influence the intent, meaning, behind those words directly. Even if the full meaning is not recieved, the mind, the idea(s), may be altered.

There's an intent behind words and then a implyed meaning, if not to others, then possibly to yourself as your mind, psyche, ego, emotional intelligence, etc etc, searches out for the right words for the right moment. May it be a affirmation of self, of meaning, or perception, of observation, of value, of existence, psyche, etc etc, and whatever ?

Example a boy promises his mother " I will not lose my hat, it's on my head".
Several weeks later he's lost several hats but has learned his lesson and says
"I will not lose my hat, it's on my head". These words now have a new meaning, new value.

    Thoughts?

I finally played BTTF ep1. I liked the story, the jokes, and the voice acting but overall, the game is far, far from perfect.

Because we enjoy the series. Sure, it's not for everyone. Personally, I'm talking about it so much because I'm working my way through the entire series. You know what I'll talk about when I'm finished with my binge? Epic Mickey. Then Metroid: Other M. Then whatever game is occupying my free time after that.

You can't be the Omega Nerd until you play D&D at least once a week, develop an unhealthy Mountain Dew habit, and start calling your bedroom "The Lair". Also, I think you're automatically disqualified for having ever had a girlfriend (which doesn't rule me out!).

Fuck that. I'm enjoying being single, I don't have to answer for every action I make. Yeah maybe I just could've had a better companion, but the fact remains that being single's quite liberating.

Also the girl that I have a casual 'thing' going on with was super drunk tonight. It was neither sexy nor alluring. Sent her home in a taxi with kisses by 1am, then grooved the night away
