    My mom broke my digital camera so she bought me a new one - a 3D one. :D I love when stuff works out like that.

    Let me ask you a question. And be honest. Do I make you horny, baby? Do I!? DO I MAKE YOU RANDY? Yeah.

    You guys just had to give him an opening.

    And Puzzlebox, I don't know if it was an option (and if it was, it's too late now), but there's one surefire way to beat jetlag, if you can manage it. Staying up for over 24 hours resets your internal clock based on whenever you go to sleep. I've done it by accident several times, and didn't learn what was happening until I learned it in bio psych a couple years ago. It sort of sucks to stay up that long, but it gets you back on track right away.

    "cannot be derailed"

    Is that a challenge?

    Thanks Guru. I have heard something similar, I just manage to fail at it rather spectacularly. In 2.5 days I'll be on a plane to Sydney anyway, so I almost feel like it's not worth bothering trying to sync up with London time. Shame about needing to, y'know, function. :p

    Wow, you really can't stay put, can you? I'm a little jealous.

    I can't think of anyplace I'd rather be, but only because it's home. Really, the place is going to shit.

    I do have a pretty awesome life, although right now it happens to be particularly good. And there are definitely trade-offs - it ain't all peaches and gravy.
  • edited January 2011
    Now that you mention it, peaches and gravy sounds disgusting.

    I wish I could travel all the time, but at the same time I like the feeling of stability and moving around a lot and packing stresses me out. And I can't just drag friends with me wherever I go. :p

    Random moment, went outside to have a cigarette, and the first thing that comes to mind is. " You Fail me, yet again star-scream!''

    @Guru, why yes I do...play D&D every week. :D

    Well damn, do you call your bedroom "The Lair" and have an unhealthy Mountain Dew habit?

    So the snow is finally melting here in Denmark so all roads and side walks is all turning into ice rinks.

    And I got to feel it personally this morning, lets just say my bum had close contact with the asphalt. :)

    No, my bedroom is not "The Lair" But it does contain, a lot...of game merch and the sort.

    I'm sorry, you can't be the Omega Nerd until you give your bedroom an unbearably nerdy title. Of course, I still stand by having ever had a girlfriend disqualifying you.

    And great, now I've been reminded that I get to go outside and take care of snow when I get up. I suppose I should try and get some sleep now so it'll be bearable.

    Unlimited
    ran for 2 seasons

    That's not Unlimited at all! To the contrary, that is extremely Limited indeed!

    I've never watched the show in question, but nonetheless, I am greatly disappointed in the reckless abandon with which the producers bandied about words like "unlimited". Harumph!

    Hurgh, today I actually woke up at a decent hour, meaning my sleep schedule is finally on track. Took damn long enough. Still being totally unproductive though, watching anime and playing BTTF instead of doing translations like I should.

    How you do that? (Play Pen and Paper RPG using Skype I mean)

    We use a Dropbox for character sheets, books, etc. Gametable for the combat situations and a web dice roller that lets everyone with the same password see the rolls. Combined with Skype's audio chat it works pretty well. We basically just started with the Dropbox and Skype and just sort of kept trying things out to see what worked and what didn't until we got a system going. I'm the only one that has a problem really and that's because the character create for 4e doesn't work on Mac so I have to use a web character creator to gen my sheets, but that's pretty minor all things considered.

    The same goes for me. Maybe we should set up a TTG game?

    It'd be pretty cool actually. I'm not a very good DM (it takes me a while to come up with a scenario because I'm kind of a literary perfectionist), but I'd be willing to do it if we had people interested.

    So yeah, tomorrow someone's trying to set a World Record gaming while indoor skydiving. Very exciting. Especially since:

    1) I pledged 50 cent per minute;
    2) 20 Euro for each half hour (meaning 5 Euro on top of the original pledge);
    3) 50 Euro if he can keep it up for an entire hour.

    I'll be donating the money to Child's Play Charity after the record has been set.

    So yeah. It will most likely be just a few minutes, in a worst-case scenario it would be under a minute.

    Well, this is weird. I thought I'd have a game of Half Life, so I booted it up through Steam. Nothing odd so far. However, when it got to the main menu it automatically began playing the music that's in my disc drive (which just so happens to be Sam and Max Season 1 soundtrack). I thought perhaps I had started Windows Media Player without noticing somehow, but when I exited the game the music stopped again.

    I'm well aware that to make it stop permanently I should take the disc out my drive, but does anyone know why that's happening? Has it happened to any of you?

    EDIT: It's repeating the same song over and over. Time to come out the disc drive lil' discy.
  • edited January 2011
    It thinks it needs to read the music from the disc still, which the original retail release did. Obviously reading music from the disc is optional, yet they didn't completely remove the code for that yet, meaning music would still play from your disc if it contained an audio track.
