Got my defective RB2 replaced, and it was worth the wait. The improvements from the first game are very noticeable right from the get-go. Solo Tour no longer feels like the game is saying "Aww, couldn't afford the bundle? Well, here's a consolation prize...".
Interesting thing I noticed, though. In a multi-song set, if the songs vary between male and female vocalists, the character model doesn't change. Very odd to see Random Female Model #7 sing Hungry Like The Wolf.

It's kind of fixed in RB3. It seems like it would work fine with a normal band, but as I have a all-male band on my tour, it switches to the character that looks the most gender-ambiguous to sing the female vocals. So, apparently one of the default male characters is a transvestite.

Haha, that is hilarious. Guess HMX would rather do that than make the game load in a new singer each time, or extend the initial load to hold another model in memory. Understandable, since it IS meant to be a party game for everybody but us addicts, so it's even more important than usual for the experience to be as smooth as possible.
From what I hear*, you should look into Morroblivion. It's a mod that uses both games and applies the textures from Oblivion to Morrowind.
*from Rather Dashing
Yeah Dashing told me a little about it too (and I think I bored him by going into too much detail about what I've been playing with this evening - I blame the vodka). I'll definitely look into it. I'm not entirely happy with the results from the overhaul thing I used earlier especially considering how long it took to install the damn thing what with all the updates and whatnot. I think it has potential if you're a big modder yourself and it is quite customisable but it's not what I was really after (and it killed my frame rate, even with a lot of the extra water details disabled, especially at the start on the boat).
To be honest all I really need is to be able to change the resolution to a widescreen one and at least I did get a good program to do that with in that package I got (Dashing recommend it to - the Morrowind Graphics Extender). So probably tomorrow (hell, later today I guess) I'll have a play with that Morroblivion thingy and see if that enhances my gameplay experience enough to make it worthwhile using it. If not I'll just stick with the graphics enhancer. It's not as if I can't play it all vanilla, like the way it's meant to be played.
Actually that Morroblivion mod reminds me of the Baldur's Gate Tutu mod, which is essential a total conversion mod for Baldur's Gate 2 that allows you to play the first game & expansion using the 2nd's engine.
I'm gonna be on the road again today, which means I won't be able to post here today. Don't throw the big party yet though, because I'll likely be back soon.
Morroblivion looks like it'll take some installing, just been downloading a load of files. Will give it a go anyway.
Edit:
Well that wasn't so bad, pretty much just a case of dumping a load of files into the data folder. And it works. Just may need a little tinkering to get the performance up.
I'm really not a big fan of the Final Destination movies post part 2. However, the cast and crew of the upcoming fifth installment have put together a frankly awesome video of Saved By The Bell meets Final Destination.
The following video contains graphic violence (albeit comedic violence, ala a gory Tom & Jerry). It is not suitable for minors, although miners should be fine. Minor miners I'm not so sure about....

I just checked this out, and I think I'm going to have to get it as well. It looks fantastic and with my new computer I want lots of pretty things to play on it.
I'd love to play the modified Morrowind but I've already got a back-catalogue of 30 or so games to play, plus Skyrim is coming this fall so I'm probably best off waiting for that. Still, dang!
Excellont. Also, on an unrelated note; might I mention how pleased I am that everyone is playing Moronwind, the greatest RPG ever?
Awwww.... I thought that this was a parody game. Instead, it's just a cute name for the same game. I am seriously disappointed. Maybe Skyrim will be my first "Elder Scrolls". Depends on their PC copy protection. This year has been a very sad thing for games in that respect, as intrusive copy protection measures have prevented my buying quite a lot of games I was looking forward to (Deus Ex 3, Fable 3, Duke Nukem Forever, Portal 2 etc.) - and it is to be expected that the trend will continue (with Diablo 3 and Trackmania 2 at the very least - I HATE Ubisoft). And if EA releases Mass Effect 3 with intrusive DRM, I will have to kill someone responsible.
We had a drunk crazy guy on our door step who repeated many times hes off his meds with a large alsatian dog who couldn't find his way home and no taxi would take him asking us to help. Next door has a Taxi but didn't help despite the fact my mum went and knocked 4 them while I stood making sure he didn't go in the house (not being prejudice he rly was out there) they taxi bloke just hand waved him said he would call one and fucked off. The guy was standing there 4 ages talking to him self and we didn't know what to do he then got out a pink phone and called an ambulance but started swearing and didn't know where he was even though we told him loads times so we spoke to them and went in diff rent room saying hes scary we don't know if hes just gonna flip or not could u take him. They came and recognised him on the spot and it sounds like hes done this before.
I don't think he would have done anything but I keep making sure I was standing betwen him nad my mum just incase. I do feel sorry for the poor guy he keep saying over and over he recived bad medical news but then went into weird rambles. He did get agressive but not at us at the ambulance guy on the phone and the guy next door but he was being apologetic with us but its still scary. We asked if he wanted tea and he said yes made him some then he said he couldn't drink tea cos he was burned as a kid.

Just play Morrowind. Do it. Do it now. I can't even respect you as an adversary if you haven't even got any nerd cred. SHAME.

You're about the worst communist in existence, Comrade. Let's just assume my ample nerd creds lie... elsewhere. I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.
Only ones I still have around are the '92 Kenner Aliens toys(the original run that didn't include snake/cougar/mantis/panther etc Aliens nor Vasquez and Hudson).

I really should have recognized the theme, seeing how it was on my iPod for a time.

Well lets see if this new version of the show is any good.

THIS IS AMAZING. (and I saw that bus coming a mile away, haha, best running gag that isn't actually featured in the movies themselves ever)
I own it and played a half an hour of it!

BLEH BLEH!!!
Now let us ponder this great wisdom.
You are my favorite person ever now.

And a man with three watches is unaware that the Swatch trend died a long time ago.
Reposting this so Vainamoinen sees it~
Or watched Back to the Future too many times.
How come I have to think of this now?

That is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
The fuck, Josh?
I told you that hentai habit would come back to bite you.
ADDENDUM: My spellchecker recognizes 'hentai' for some reason. The hell, Chrome?

I had him. Classic toys. Egon was the creepiest though.
Yeah, I have all of them in my loft.
All the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers stuff too!
*blissfully resumes Tour mode, sees "press Start to continue"*
*le Start press*
*le repeated Start presses*
*le many, many Start presses*
"Something must have gone funky. The start button appears to not work."
*resets console*
"Press Start to continue? Don't mind if I do!"
*le Start press*
...
*le very hard Start press*
"FUCKING RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!"
*looks at guitar controller prices*
"FURTHER RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!"
So much for that, then. Goddammit.
