I never really did have any friends until high school, and I pretty much still love the things I did as a kid.

I change according to what I feel people want me to be since I don't consider most eiple potential friends. Only a very few are worth being genuine for.

I tend to just have a multi-faceted personality that changes depending on various environmental factors, media transmitted through, and cues I get from the other person. Eventually, though, people who know me well see all of the sides of me and then come to the conclusion that I am some sort of demon woman for some reason.

That, or, in the case of one of my roommates, the female version of Snape.

"Another blow to the model of Man the Mighty Hunter aggressively making his way through the forests and savannas of pre-history, providing and protecting his little mate and offspring, is that "male weapons and male aggressiveness are for dominance, not protection." In other words, when creatures are endowed with means of defense, like talons or teeth, these are given to both sexes. But when Male creatures are given colossal tusks or massive antlers "...the less likely it is that the male's physical superiority has any relevance to protection or to predation." In short, they are given for ritual display.

This is an important point. Somehow we've always known that our guns and ballistic missiles were never meant for protection and defense, but for a sort of global rutting display where the largest weapons and most threatening demeanor meant alpha male. The difficulty seems to come when men bond into groups. Here a group of men cooperating together can defeat an individual who alone could overpower them. At this point, peer pressure to conform seems to dip into the creation of ideologies, which could be described as a low kind of mass consciousness. This particularly human characteristic hinges around creating an externalized enemy that will unite as many men as possible into a closely knit group. The bigger and fiercer the enemy is made out to be, the greater incentive to bond. The displays and diplomacy that previously provided a check on aggression fail when a male-bonded group start talking about "the enemy" and generating contempt for them."

    ok

    God I am so stupid!

I almost fell for a phishing scam.

I'd never normally fall for it, but I'm so tired from work and long uni days I didn't think.

However, I quickly snapped back to my senses immediately once I read some of the form questions, looked at the web address, and double checked that email.

I instantly closed that webpage, started a virus scan, and reported it all to paypal on another PC.

I just hope that nothing bad happens!

Is there any job that can be had with a Women's Studies degree in this economy? It seems like a bad move to rack up $70,000 worth of debt to get one. The same can be said for...

    Men's Studies
    Child and Family Studies
    Art History
    and much, much more!

It just doesn't seem like there are actual, paying jobs that can be had with these degrees (outside of academia and teaching) and on the whole they seem to be an academic waterhead fuckaround. Opinions?

Well, you can be a museum curator with any of those, I think. And I know archaeology degrees and history degrees can get you work for the government in researching culture. But yeah...I guess I'm sort of the opinion that most of those are M.R.S. degrees. Or these days they could also be M.R.M.O.M. degrees.
  • edited October 2011
Becoming a curator is easier said than done though. It's not like there's a ton of those jobs opening.

    Hence the M.R.S/M.R.M.O.M degree.
